F1 World Championship Edition (SNES) (1995)
Looking back at my favourite design from the WipEout 2048 intro movie.
‘The intro to this game (at surface level) is a short movie which showcases historic moments of competitive racing development leading to the birth of anti gravity racing.
But, did you know the WipEout 2048 intro movie simultaneously looked back at Psygnosis Studio Liverpool’s history of game development too?
In the movie, you’ll see vehicles from past and present day motor racing
However: some of you may not have noticed that it’s also sprinkled with a few easter eggs of Psygnosis Studio Liverpool’s notable past including:
The F1 racing game series and nods to the Rollcage franchise.
Unfortunately, this was to be Psygnosis Studio Liverpool’s last ever work as Sony permanently closed the studio in 2012, leaving only the games and of course the WipEout 2048 intro movie as a testament to the British studio’s 28 years in gaming history.’

I love how during the [Drivers guess their team mate's f1 2021 ranking] Yuki constantly keeps bringing up Bahrain to tease Pierre while Pierre threatens to rank him lower out of spite (sibling energy). While George and Nicky take polite shots at each other that are actually quite vicious and hilarious as they refuse to let the other forget about past mistakes (best friend vibes). Meanwhile Kimi and Gio are out there trying to out support each other, with Gio respecting the hell out of Kimi (thus giving him maximum points almost always) while Kimi is just a proud dad, giving Gio maximum points because his son cannot ever do anything wrong in his eyes (father/son feels).
Wait wait wait. How much is the new F1 game?
Well, I believe it's $47. But the thing is, it was nearly $17 last year.
And, no, I don't believe EA can add that much to a game in 6 months of time in case they do have a magic wand.
So..... Seb physically could not say RedBull
Max literally just said Renaults.
And Pierre looked dead at the camara and said he didn't know.
Consider me deceased from laughter.
Seb and his son Mick coming in first and second on the grill the grid game, that's perfection right there.
Lance cheeky little grin as he said "Scuderia Ferrari," is literally the most endearing thing I've seen all day.
If a bunch of queer people would kindly go ahead and play racing sims with me I will take it upon myself to rid the world of evil
