If you place two candles where a Wii sensor bar would normally go, the flames can actually replace it—the infrared light they emit is enough for a Wii remote to function properly.
The Wii remote detects infrared light, and candle flames emit enough infrared for the remote to track. By placing two candles a few inches apart, you can mimic the sensor bar's function.
