Nine People I'd Like to Know Better

I've been tagged by the lovely @rawrkittenpurr. I.. am afraid someone else may have tagged me a few weeks ago.. I am very sorry. I did not overlook you.. I was probably overwhelmed ;_; (if I find you I will tag you too). Starting this while at work otherwise I'll miss it again..

Last Book: The last book I started was 'My Brain Still Needs Glasses: ADHD in adolescents and adults', which might explain why I don't remember what the last book I finished.. I have been reading book 2 of A Song of Ice and Fire, A Clash of Kings, for... 4 years? I think The Three Body Problem by Liu Cixin may have been the last one I finished..

Last Song: That I listened to is 'I Adore You (w J Balvin & Ellie Goulding) by HUGEL, J Balvin, Ellie Goulding, Topic, Arash, Deacolm'. It always sends me into such a Isekai Gabico moment (I need to see them dancing together). The last song that I liked was 'ONE TRACK MIND by Naïka' because IG did its thing. It's been sending me down such a kompa rabbit hole back to my high school years (spoiler alert: that was a long time ago).

Last Film: SINNERS. Completely loved it. I thought I was sitting down for a commentary on social segregation, which it was, but a VAMPIRE MOVIE? Including ancient Native Americans AND the link between Native Americans and Ireland? And muuuusic. So much muuuuuusic.

Last Series: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and Industry (simultaneous). My go-to (volunteering information) is House of Cards (Netflix version)

Last Video Game: I don't play video games but I love watching play-throughs online. Black Myth: Wukong is on my to-watch list, one of the Assassin's Creed is the last I watched. Watching Teamredline if iRacing is a video game. Anything Glidus shares on his twitch because i love his humour.

Sweet or Salty: Savoury. Umame. MSG baby (haha). If it's only between sweet and salty, then salty (but i get bored of both really fast, while I don't get bored of savoury ever).

Coffee or Tea: Tea (caffeinated or herbal). I tried coffee, but as much as I once got very nerdy about coffee preparation, I don't like it. I love tea. Especially black teas (hmmmm earl grey! earl grey creme!), oolong, flavoured teas, non-flavoured tea. Love milk oolong, love OSMANTHUS anything, love pu-erh, and love matcha (latté or not).

Working on: Work. But fandom-wise, three Gabico fics. 1-a ficlet for @christianhornier. 2-a Ikesai Gabico that's been haunting my waking hours.. 2025 Gabi meeting 2010 Nico.. all young and serious and how I keep thinking of.. well.. sexual tension.... 3-a multiverse Gabico where Nico is sent into an alternative timeline where... Gabi is darker and self-destructive and there is no Egle or Noemi.. this one isn't really thought through. It's more an idea/feeling for now

I don't wanna force anyone but I definitely want to get to know more of you. 🌨 Sleet - What's the most you've ever written in one sitting?

Ooooh, good question 🤔 Probably something like 2k at most, in one sitting. I usually get distracted very easily and write in short sessions. A few paragraphs here and there, then I do something else, then I come back to writing and again and again 🫣 But I think I wrote Take what you deserve, baby in one evening, I just couldn't stop, I had to write it all, and it was 1,4k.

"You're fucking—" Carlos stumbles out of sliding doors and onto the hotel pool deck, tripping over himself and the doorframe as he hops toward the edge of the pool. Charles is smiling like a maniac, wet hair matted against his forehead, eyes shining bright in the dark night. "Insane, Charles. You're fucking insane."

"It is good for you, Carlos," Charles quips, mouth quirking up at the corners as he looks up at Carlos from inside the pool. It's cold and it's dark, the wind strong enough to rattle the closed umbrellas on the pool deck. The Abu Dhabi desert isn't exactly known for warm nights, and Carlos isn't exactly known for his high tolerance for the cold.

"The season is over, cabron." Carlos wraps his arms around his middle, bracing himself against the desert wind. "We don't need to take ice baths for a few months, at least."

Charles dunks his head under the water, and for a moment he's nothing but a shimmer of pale skin under the darkness. Carlos' fingers twitch against his own skin, his heartbeat speeds up.

When Charles resurfaces, he shakes the water off his hair like a dog. A freezing droplet hits Carlos' cheek, and he tries not to stare at his teammate's broad, wet shoulders.

"Come on, Carlos," Charles' teeth are white against the dark night, bright against the soft yellow lighting out on the pool deck. All of Abu Dhabi stretches out below them, glimmering lights and fast cars, and somewhere down there Max and Red Bull are celebrating. Another win, another championship. And Carlos is here. On a windy, cold pool deck, watching Charles lose his mind in the water. "We lost," Charles says. "There is nothing else to do. Might as well go swimming."

Are you okay? Carlos wants to ask, wants to reach in and pull Charles out of the water and shake him, wrap him in a towel and warm him up. This is not like you. Last year you cried when Max won. Now you are going swimming?

But he doesn't get the chance to ask. He doesn't get the chance to do anything, because there's a splash and he looks up, and Charles is floating on his back and he's naked, he's naked and he's shining and he's floating and Carlos can see everything—how hadn't he noticed before, Charles' jeans discarded over a lounge chair, right next to his sneakers and shorts? How hadn't he been prepared? Why can't he look away now?

"Charles," Carlos says, and chokes on the desert air. "Charles."

"Come on," Charles says again. His voice is lower now, challenging. Carlos lets his eyes run over his body slowly, fit and strong, gentle and relaxed. His cock is soft against his thigh, pink at the tip and a little bigger than Carlos imagined. Not that he had ever imagined. There's a dark tangle of hair right above, then the flat plane of his stomach, the V-lines leading back down toward his cock. Carlos' eyes stutter on the dark freckles on Charles' side, on the carved lines of his abs, on the pebbled points of his nipples. He feels it in his stomach, in his chest, in his cock. Charles is still looking at him.

"Are you coming in?" Charles asks one last time.

Carlos reaches up, tugs his own shirt over his head. They've lost. There's nothing else to do.
