Para [Huntjay: Mudpies 11/5]
Hunter pressed the doorbell at Jay’s home, knowing that his boyfriend was working from home that day, but not on a particular deadline. He had decided to play hooky from work, take another personal day that was the beginning of his exit of the firm he’d been at for 15 years. He had so many sick days to use up that he would not be able to cash out, so using them up was his first step towards the new life was planning for himself. Yes that life plan was scary at moments, but with Jay in his life these days he felt capable of anything. So most of the time he was looking forward to moving on to the next phase of his life post-law. Sebastian and Rob promised to find a place for him in Olloclip, and Hunter was starting to financially plan for the worst-case-scenario deep pay cut that he decided would be worth it, because building a business with his best friends post-IPO was going to be so much more rewarding than his firm life had come to be.
But today was not a day that Hunter was planning to spend brooding or planning. It was Friday, a perfectly warm, but crisp autumn day in Santa Monica and he was surprising Jay with a visit. If Jay was too busy to play, he would move on and spend a day to himself at the beach, swimming in the ocean – something he rarely took time to do. And if Jay was not busy, they would get time together, doing something. Hunter actually hoped that Jay would let him try his hand at sculpture, something he had no experience in, but was eager to learn more about for his boyfriend’s sake.
His boyfriend. Hunter still wasn’t used to the term, but it was growing on him. He waited at the door, a smile forming on his face at the prospect of seeing his new love.
