FUNDRAISER | 005
Seeing Nixon and spending time with him as well as talking to him in general has become part of Sara’s everyday life. It’s a routine and she’s not complaining one bit. She liked having him around, the sort of adventurous and mysterious energy he brings around her just makes life more exciting. There was thrill that she learned to enjoy so much, especially since that bike ride night they had. Even if her dad got mad at her, all it took were three words. I’m happy, dad. There was no need for an explanation and even if it was uncertain what she was trying to say exactly, Andrew Hartley knew that moments like this would happen more so there’s no point in telling his daughter no. After all, the more he’ll say no, the more Sara would just go against him and do what she wants. Andrew decided to just find a loophole when he can.
The fundraiser invite came as a shock. Sara knew she needed to go to support her mom but going with just her parents felt boring. Even if her friends were going to be there, Sara just didn’t feel like hanging. That was when she decided to invite the one person she’s been looking forward to spend time with the most. Thankfully, Nixon agreed to go. She was kind of excited to see him in a semi-formal wear, having always wondered how he looked when going to their company office. Settling with a simple white dress and her hair down, Sara drove her mom’s BMW to where Nixon’s apartment was. She stayed in her car for a while, doing a few checks on her make up just to be sure she looks presentable before being seen by Nixon. When she was all set, she got out of the car, went up to his place and knocked on the door, wondering if she’ll finally get a glimpse of his home for the rest of the summer.
