Meet the Parents
It hadn’t been long since Emily had made her way home, delivering the news to her mother that Hanna and Ashley would be coming over for dinner tonight. It was probably going to shock and surprise them the news that the two were now seeing each other, but she hoped there would be no negative opinions on the matter. If Emily had it her way, she’d tell them right at the start of dinner, right as Hanna was walking in the door to rip the bandaid off, but she knew that that wouldn’t be the best of ideas.
Of course, she’d just seen Hanna so there was really no need to change or put on make up or fix her hair, but she’d done it regardless. Just as the doorbell rang, she’d stopped to check her hair in the mirror that was hanging on the wall in the hall. Pam walked by, a frown creasing her brows at her daughter peculiar behavior. Emily could hear Pam answering the door. “Come in, come in,” Pam greeted the guests. “Em will be down in a minute, for some reason, she decided that primping was needed. I swear I don’t know who my daughter is anymore.” Emily rolled her eyes as she was ratted out, finally deciding that her hair would suffice before coming out to greet their guests. “Hi,” she greeted Ashley with a hug and then Hanna. “How was the run, Han?”
