Date Night
The Brew was, for the most part, a happy place - she had spent so much time with her best friends in there, plotting, talking, laughing, even sitting in silence and just being with each other. That place was good, one of the only good places in Rosewood and Hanna knew that had to mean something. “We are on a date,” She repeated, laughing as she nudged her best friend and hopefully, soon to be girlfriend. They were going to leave Rosewood behind soon enough, she hoped, and she wanted to do so knowing she had spent that time making her life in New York better than it had been. That way, Rosewood couldn’t win.
When they got there, she turned and grinned at the woman, “One more good memory, then we can leave all this behind.” She promised her, opening up the door to reveal an empty place, covered in fairy lights and candles. Where they usually sat, on the table sat Emily’s favourite cocktail, along with the nicest looking cupcake Hanna could find. “I’m taking you out for dinner afterwards, but not on our own.. this bit is for us and the rest of the night is purely me showing you off.”
With Emily’s hand in her own, she led her to their usual corner and sat down, “So, I bought you here for a reason, obviously..”
The word date never ceased to make her heart beat just a tad bit quicker and butterflies to dance in her tummy at just the thought. They were indeed on a date and no matter what happened in Rosewood, they wouldn’t stay and let it ruin them. Emily hoped with all her might that that thought was true.
Her mouth fell open in surprise as she saw the beautiful set up that was The Brew. Their normal table was set up for them, and it all took Emily’s breath away. It seemed like a dream that anyone would go through this much detail and effort for her. She hadn’t had this happen, well, ever. “So you do all of this for me, and I have to share you later?” she teased, pretending to pout for a moment. She was okay with sharing for a little wile.
As she took her seat, she listened to Hanna speak. “Yes, definitely you out did yourself too,” she added, anxious to know the reason she’d brought her there.
