Summer was officially in full swing, though finding activities for Eliza had been a challenge. But Rachel was committed to making this a summer her daughter would remember forever. And that meant the ridiculously expensive summer science camp the young girl was dying to go to, and as much time with her as possible, hence the sudden career direction shift. So today was sort of first days for the two of them. Eliza more excited than nervous and Rachel quite the opposite, but she was determined not to let that show. Once her daughter was settled, she was off to the screen test. It felt very much like an actual test, one that would have a pass or fail grade. Rachel sipped her green juice and turned her car radio up, blasting her inspiration playlist reminding herself she was much better in front of the camera than anywhere else.
It seemed to be a shorter distance from the camp to the studio than she’d anticipated because she hadn’t even gotten to “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson. Rachel sighed and headed inside shaking her nerves once again, quietly giving herself a pep talk all the way to the lot the show would be filming. A new adventure, something else to conquer, and conquer she would. Hair and makeup were where the day started, and Rachel was the first to arrive at the trailer, which was typical. She sat and prepared for a bit of pampering when she heard the door open. “Quinn. Good Morning. How are you?” She felt her ridiculous nerves swell. Of course Quinn walked in looking ridiculously beautiful without having on a drop of make-up, and Rachel was expected to sit next to her?
