I knew this was coming..
This is a copy and paste of an article from soompi.
"Following reports about Girl’s Day members’ contracts coming to an end, Dream T Entertainment has released an official statement regarding Sojin’s contract and the group’s future.
Dream T’s statement can be read below:
Hello, this is Dream T Entertainment. We are relaying our official statement regarding the reports related to Girl’s Day today.
Sojin’s exclusive contract with Dream T Entertainment is expiring in February 2019 and the decision to not renew was made.
The remaining members (Yura, Minah, Hyeri) also have contracts expiring this year, so they are in discussion with the company in many ways.
There is no intention to disband Girl’s Day’s group activities. We are seeking ways for the group to do activities together in the future.
We ask for a lot of support so that all of the members can be more active and branch out into diverse activities.
Thank you."
I am not quite sure what all this means, but it is safe to say Girl's Day as a singing group may no longer be. I'm only assuming, but the "activities" they do from here on or after their contracts end are most likely going to be gigs like hosting, acting, cfs, etc. Not entirely certain though..
I'm always shocked at how much of a following these women have even after almost a 2 year hiatus. I'm so proud of these four ladies who are confident and ready to journey onward for themselves. They have no doubt become amazing individuals and can only grow from here.
Even if they decide not to be label mates anymore, I wish nothing but the best for Hyeri, Yura, Minah, and Sojin. I hope they will continue keep each other close and stay as true friends as we, the fans, know they are.
I love you, Girl’s Day. ♥
