Saw you mention the Herschel backpacks. Which style do you recommend?
Hi, love!
A lot of people seem to like the classic backpack for obvious reasons, but I prefer the heritage backpack a bit more, as I think the reinforced bottom and lined fabric is worth the difference in price (and the design isn’t as simple as the classic; not to mention that the Heritage backpack has a specific compartment for your laptop). The Heritage is much sturdier than the Classic, although both seem to give the same amount of support!
Hope I was able to help :-) x

What kind of bag should I use for college next year?
I would really, really recommend a Longchamp!
I started carrying my Longchamp in the beginning of junior year, and switching over from a backpack to the Le Pliage was the best choice I ever made. It pretty much goes with every outfit and has the benefit of looking like an accessory all while being incredibly convenient. The straps are sturdy and made of beautiful leather--and the bag carries so much. It looks like it doesn't fit much from the outside, but I've carried five notebooks, my laptop in its case, my laptop charger, large pencil case, and a small make-up bag in mine for the whole year and the bag has not failed me yet.
If you're looking for more of a backpack sort of bag, I would recommend the Herschel canvas backpacks; they come in a variety of designs so I'm certain that you'd be able to find one that's right for you! And they're super comfortable and are admittedly better for your back than the Longchamp, as it's slung over both shoulders and the weight is carried by more of your body.
If you're looking to spend less money, I'd go with the Steve Madden canvas backpacks! I own a floral design myself and I'm in love with it. It's a bit on the smaller side, but I think it's just right for a college bag as you can always switch out your books in between classes and trips to the library. The fabric is super soft and, again, it's better for your back than the Longchamp.
I hope this helped, lovely--please do let me know what you end up purchasing!! x
