#Artist Confessions - Complex. Crazy Colors. Wow.
I have a lot of pet peeves as an artist. And often times I don't realize I have them until after I've dealt with them again.
Recently I've been struggling with lack of motivation and a lot of procrastination. That's a really bad combination for any of you that have never experienced it.
And the funny thing is - it's not even for my cash commissions that this is causing this! But it's affecting everything I do now.
No; I have a confession - yes. A pet peeve that I want to throw out into the world and see if anyone knows how I feel or doesn't. Either way. I dislike - really really dislike - overly complicated designs. And I'm not talking about the "I have 7 colors pfft"; I'm talking about these ridiculous complicated designs that have 4 colors but have stripes, spots, overlay-ed gradients, colored bellies, toes and tongues, wings and glowing markings - and it never fails that these are the commissions that I get paid the least for but take me the most time. And it honestly makes me not want to draw, which truth be told I can't stand not to draw.
