Fall 2014, my largest class to date. Good luck in the future and remember hierarchy and alignment! :)
FA2014: Project 2 Final Critique. Great work guys! :)
Welcome Students!
Hi all,
I’ll use this blog to post instructions and inspiration. Every so often, I’ll post relevant articles about design.
***Please check here before turning in your projects to make sure you did everything I asked on the project sheets.
If you have any questions, please email me, and I’ll try to get back to you the same day. If not that evening, I’ll get back to you the next day during office hours, as I check my emails regularly at work.
I will be available to meet before class starts, but I prefer that you make an appointment ahead of time. I will try to be in my office, FAC 313, by 5:45 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, but sometimes my day job gets in the way, so please email me first and I will make sure to be there. Or I will email you to make other arrangements.
I hope we’re going to have a good time in class and you’ll appreciate designers more by the end of the class! You’ll definitely learn about our process and you will develop a better eye for good design.
Greetings class! Welcome to the world of tumblr!
Why we are using tumblr? Why not blackboard?
Social networking. Tumblr is free blog space and many of today’s artists, designers , thinker and doers use it. Tumblr makes it easy to form community and champions sourcing and the forwarding of images and ideas. Industries and clients wants to see individuals capable of keeping up with technological trends as well as master tool of promotion in channels such as the internet. Things like tumblr, facebook, twitter are in fact, tools.
As I will talk about in class, I want students to start to have an online presence. An online presence is incredibly important today in the world of graphic arts. Employers and possible clients want to see individuals who are up to date with the most current trends and technology. Social networking is crucial to many fields but in the arts it is especially important to develop a community. Arts thrive in a community and tumblr is part of a social movement.
To those of you who already know about tumblr, welcome back.
I’ll be posting resources and tidbits about the subjects I’ll lecture on here on the blog. This is just an extra resource for you all!
