Sooo, this is day 1 of me trying to actually finish a project for the first time in my life
Maybe I should have picked something smaller like a poetry collection, buuut I am gonna finish my longest dragging novel
Honestly at this point it has so many variations of its plot points and multiple branches from the same scenes cause I've been thinking about and writing random snippets of this work for soo long
But I'm in the middle of a 13min long video about plotting and am motivated
So I'm gonna do this, ill update after the writing sessions done
Disappearing Acts: Veil What Is Not
Through my life and discipline in both art and anthropology/humanities---as a queer person, I often find myself drawn to ideas that challenge and highlight the very colonial notion of binaries: she/he, masculine/feminine, darkness/lightness, alive/dead, queer/not queer, the list goes on and on forever. By highlighting implicit binaries, there starts to be a breaking down of them. By amplifying them through aesthetics and movement, we can really break down and see through their illusion.
Joong and Ou at Gamejakrot
I created repeating patterns using pylon silhouettes. I used a photograph I took of a pylon and removed the background. I then pasted the pylons over a photograph I took in the fields of Feckenham. Many people fought against the introduction of plyons as they were seen as an eyesore and it was thought that they would detract from the views of the British countryside. Similarly, in my images, the pylons obscure the photograph behind, but the pattern created by the structures shine a light on the architectural beauty of the pylon.
Ares Project 1
Project 1: Tool
I have two tools that I could use for Project 1, it is between a No. 78 Silex or Vernier scale, I’m hoping to make a final decision on which one to used during our studio class today
