Left Santa Barbara before 6:30 as we try to get through LA before traffic is a nightmare.
We typically have to drive in the 2nd to left lane as the right lanes are so chewed up, and today was no different.
The lovely CA governor, who suffers from a severe case of TDS, took control of all the interstate electronic sign boards to put up a 3 panel set on signs. The first one read "live shooting on fwy". The second one said "Fed govt using live ammo across I5". The 3rd one finally said where, and when. What a complete A$$!!. How many of his constituents freaked out on the first 2 panels! The guy needs his head examined, not to mention his complete hatred to our well trained marines.
Got to the Indio Elks at 11am. Camp host was no where to be found so we checked ourselves in . Around 4pm, we noticed a ton of rigs coming in and people being forced to move. Turns out the lodge has an RV gathering with their members later in the week, and they decided to start early. We negotiated a better situation (we are all hooked up) than we had. But several people had to give up their space. Not Elk like actions of their members.
Tomorrow we head for Casa Grande.
