Row 1: 1 | 2 | 3 Row 2: 1 | 2 | 3 Row 3: 1 | 2 | 3 No matter how much you love a trend some things just aren’t for everyone. This is how I feel about bell-sleeve blouses. I desperately searched for one this month but was unsuccessful. Every top I tried was either too much, too little, too short, or just funky. I think I’ve finally given into the idea that even though I admire the look on other…

Fab Finds: Sandals for Summer
The latest shoe trend for the season, block heeled sandals in a modest height! And this working mom-on-the-go can appreciate fashion;s newest style obsession. The thicker platform adds just the right amount of, “I tried today,” to any outfit and suddenly transforms the standard summer shoe and makes it acceptable for any occasion! What’s not to like?
Today I’ve rounded up some of my favorites from across the web. The inspiration for this post comes from none other than sandal #7 - isn’t she a beauty?! I bought myself a pair as my birthday/Mother’s Day gift to myself, and I gotta admit, I could seriously live in these shoes! I also own #2 in both taupe and red because for under $30 you better believe I stocked up! I’m currently eyeing #6 but I’m pretty sure I don’t have room in my closet...Also, can we talk about #3?? On sale and under $60!

Fab Finds: Empowering Shirts for Girls
I recently read a news story about a 5 year old girl who wrote Gap a letter saying she was unhappy with all the “pink and princess and stuff like that.” A girl after my own heart! If you follow me on Snapchat (username: joannealma) then you’ve witness my many rants regarding the over-abundance of pink, sequins and sparkle in the girls section. Um, can young girls get more options? Not every little girl wants to be a princess?! Well mine does but that’s not the point. My point is that I can never find girl clothes that offers an empowering message. All Remy gets is, “When I grow up I’m going to be a princess,” or “Diva in the making.” What message is the fashion industry making by limiting what we want our FUTURE LEADERS to become? So I’ve scoured the web to bring my little girl, and your little girl, a few shops that do offer more options and empowering messages to wear across their chests.

Trend Report | Spring 2017
Spring is right around the corner (fingers crossed) and I’m rounding up some of the Spring 2017 trends I’m eager to sprinkle into my wardrobe! Bell sleeves will still be going hard come warmer weather and I’m not complaining. I am loving the statement this little number is giving and for under $40 that’s a major score for any fashionista’s closet. Athleisure has been trending for quite sometime now and in an ode to the 90s these Adidas's sneakers are back in a big way! An off the shoulder dress in a black and white checkered pattern, well that screams Spring in my book! Just imagine it paired with an embroidered denim jacket, yaass!
Bomber jackets are definitely trending and a floral bomber for Spring? Groundbreaking;) The comobo of ruffles, which is everywhere right now, paired with a little cold shoulder detailing make this top the ultimate showstopper for Spring. It is all about the exposed lace bralette next season and I’m loving the feminine touch it can bring to a look. This Chloe look-alike bag and these Marc Fisher doppelgängers ($60!) are a steal for the fraction of their authentic price tags.

Currently Craving: Shopping Ban Edition
With a little over a week left in February, I am close to completing the second month of the six month no shopping ban I set as one of my style resolutions this year. And friends, I’m not gonna lie and say it’s getting any easier - it’s actually getting really hard. The shopping itch is setting in and it’s taking a lot of will power to stand firm on my mission to forgo shopping until July?!? While I must admit the window shopping isn’t helping, it is giving me inspiration for how to style my already massive closet come Spring. The fact that I’m over my Winter wardrobe, however, probably has something to do with it being so hard but I digress cause I’m pretty sure Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, so I better get used to my Winter pieces.
Today I thought I’d share some of the items I’m lusting over and ones that I’m taking mental note to include in my imaginary shopping cart. There are just so many great pieces out there right now! This bag (how freakin’ cute is it?!) and these boots (um, embroidery!) are actually items I technically can add to my closet because of saved up store credit (!!), but I’m reluctant to poke the bear inside me and start a shopping frenzy I may not be able to stop. What do you think, should I pull the proverbial trigger? I wouldn’t technically be spending current money - its store credit;) Also on my lust list - these low block ankle strap heels are calling my name, especially in the punchy color for Spring and Summer! And while they’re pricey, these overalls are killer! I hate to admit it but the ruffle sweater trend looks so cute and feminine, and can we talk about these drop earrings?? Gah, so much goodness!

Fab Finds January: Volume XII
Fab Finds January: Volume XII
I skipped last month’s budget post because it was Christmas but really I didn’t need anything this month either. Except, there are some cute spring-y things popping up here and there and I just can’t help myself. Meanwhile, winter is still in full swing so I am having fun finding ways to incorporate all of these bright pieces into my current warm wardrobe too. Column 1: Mossimo Women’s Tote…

February Finds: Valentine’s Day
So if you haven’t quite caught on, I’m one of those people that appreciates a good themed outfit. Whether it’s Thanksgiving, the Fourth of July or Christmas - I enjoy dressing the part! Corny I know but it’s the little things in life, folks. In preparation for Valentine’s Day, today I thought I’d share a few themed pieces - under $100 - perfect for the day of love! While many of the items included are ripe for the festivities, like this dress which has a vintage feel or these heels that add just the right amount of color, there are a few pieces that can be worn for a more low key celebration, like these sneakers or this cozy boyfriend cardigan! And I couldn’t leave out the accessories! This clutch has so much personality and these drop earrings are so subtle yet cheerful, there’s something for every gal!
