So what I imagine happens when you lose your face is what follows; it doesn’t hurt intitaly, it kinda tickles- that’s more from shock. You can control your body still, but your only sense is most likely touch. You remain like this until your face is placed on a monster, which basically removes your ability to speak (I think) overtime, your mind and the instincts of the monster kinda become one until your face is saved.
ewww, can you imagine your only sense being touch? that’s such a big fear of mine, losing several senses at once. on the contrary, i wonder how it feels to get your face saved after having it taken for so long. i can just picture the moment their face comes back and they have to take a second to look at their hands and feel their face, then it hits them they’re back to normal. poor miis, they don’t deserve to go through all this trauma-

A few angsty nightmare headcanons:
A lot of the time when teammates have nightmares, they’re wake up and immediately go to touch their face. Some do it because they can’t see (since it’s dark) and think their eyes have been stolen, and some do it out of reflex and thinking that “whoever’s stealing my face can’t take it if I hold onto it.”
The main hero will wake up from particularly bad face-stealing nightmares and immediately get out of bed to check on the teammate they’ve shared a room with. Sometimes the teammate will wake up with the hero right in their face, trying to make out if their face is gone in the darkness.
i actually love this one so much. now we just need a comic of a teammate waking up to the mh in their face djcjjd- this is very good submission! still frightening to think of what it must actually feel like to have your face stolen. what would be even worse would be if the mii in question had claustrophobia. even though they could still breathe through their nose, the darkness and sensory deprivation would actually be pretty horrifying, imo.

Okay hear me out. Having to fight your faceless team mates instead of the boss. This is because since your team mates have no faces they can’t see you and reconsigze you. So they attack you blindly, assuming you are a monster
oh nooooooooo- anon this is e v i l but i absolutely love it, oh my g o d. can you imagine-??? you’re playing this game just having a good time and then this gets thrown at you???? i’d close the ds and sob

every time you defeat an enemy, it says you rescue one person, even if the monster didn't have a whole face. this implies that some miis only had parts of their face removed
which means at some point, a mii loses both their eyes. they freak out and call for their partner, who they hear running towards them. their partner doesn't say a word and gently takes hold of their face, thumbs lightly brushing over where their eyes used to be. they do the same, asking why they won't answer them.
they find out why when they feel skin where their partner's mouth used to be.
jcskXJSKSJ NOOOOOOOOO- god anon my heart can’t take this stress, tffffff-
this is honestly the kind of prompt someone could write a fanfic with, it’s that good. very very very good submission!

i saa the face on living person ask & remembered this concept I thought of where
SPOILERS
when the teammates are at haven hollow without their faces, they had the faces of other people on them. so the protag had to figure out how to A. save these strangers' faces B. save their friends faces C. do those with the least amount of harm to teammates possible
oooooooohhhhhh my g o d, this one is dark.
i love it.
we need more content of this IMMEDIATELY. congrats, you’ve just won pinned post, anon! everyone look at this- i require it for entry into this blog-

Yeah I headcanon ANY MH to gain a bit of... separation anxiety? trauma? from having their friends be taken in the middle of the night three times. When my MH reunited with the three team members in haven hollow she burst into tears.
... And i mean, the game Does have our MH tearing up when you talk to their faceless bodies.....
awww- dude it is rough asf to watch our main heroes tear up and jump around all anxious when they talk to their faceless teammates, i’m- can you imagine their relief when they finally get their faces back?
NO OMG- so when the first teammate (that you find in hallow haven i mean) gets their face back, there’s just this dramatic scene of main hero feeling their face to make sure it’s really them, then they just. collapse into their teammate and bawl their eyes out- bonus points if it’s the greenhorne teammate-
