"Facebook Fatigue afflicts approximately one billion people. But what if you could filter out anything that makes you unhappy?"
"Isn’t life better when you only see what you want to see?" LOL
Are you one of a billion people who suffer from Facebook fatigue? Comediva introduces a brand new feature called *"Facebook Life Filters." It allows you to customize your life to make you happier. Take a look at this handy instructional video that shows you how it all works. Because isn't life better when you see only what you want to see?
*Unfortunately not an actual feature.
Twitter giveaways: a social media case study
Back in April, we ran a Masters giveaway promotion on Twitter. Here are thoughts & stats… 1) Offer something worth wanting to get engagements. You’ve got to spend it to get it. Think students would rather have a $10 credit in their account or a $10 set of Masters koozies? In April, that’s definitely koozies (read: springtime, golf, cold beer, popularity of Masters, etc) 2) 18-24 year olds are definitely Facebook fatigued. We included Facebook likes as entries initially but abandoned it a few days in due to very low interactions (e.g. 128 retweets vs. 6 Facebook likes). Facebook is too noisy for customers to distinguish our value-add against the crap. And, about half the entries we got on Facebook were from people our parents’ age. Date, giveaway item, # of retweets
April 10, koozies, 128
April 10, hat, 91
April 11, t-shirt, 120
April 11, koozies, 106
April 12, blue hat, 51
April 12, instant, 31
April 13, t-shirt, 47
April 13, hat, 62
April 14, koozies, 91
April 14, t-shirts, 25
April 15, 5 items, 125 Total retweets: 877
Total new followers: 311
Total merch spend: $700
Twitter ad spend: $318 (14,700 impressions, 686 clicks, 45 retweets) Questions? Let us know! —

Making Stangers Social
Where did it all begin? Probably 15 year ago, when, for the first time my ASL ping on Yahoo Messenger got a 17/f/mum reply. For me Messenger turned into an addiction. The feeling of not knowing whom I might bump into was thrilling. Messenger soon lost its sheen to Facebook and Orkut’s of the world. But the emotion that still got me glued was the thrill of finding my long-lost friends and prying into their private lives. Like everything good, this shall probably pass too. Infact a lot of countries are already showing signs of facebook fatigue. People skim through their timelines with hardly any interaction except may be some mercy likes or comments on pictures of relatives and close friends. We started Treetin with the belief that somewhere we have restricted ourselves to a box of 510 friends (fb average) and now is the time to step out of your comfort zones and bump into amazing people all around you. People we call strangers.Treetins is about meeting new people. It is about Making stranger social — without being creepy
I can't fucking stand peoples political shares and messages on Facebook/via email when they are ones I don' t agree with or worse, know the anecdote/quote/whatever is incorrect. It is not worth the energy to try and argue with these people. I want to opt out from hearing that shit. There should be a filter for that. Get on it, programmers!
Another shitty thing on facebook, is any "friend" that is sitting there judging you or talking smack about you. Being nosy about your life so they can pick it apart. If you get your jollies talking shit about other people behind their back then I don't want to know you. There should be a telepathic filter for that. Get on it...um... science!
Facebook fatigue, untersucht vom Pew Internet Research Project
Mary Madden (2013) The State of Social Media. Washington, DC: National Bike Summit, 05.März 2013. Foliensatz via pewinternet.org.
Zentrale Erkenntnis:
In: LIBREAS.Weblog, 03.03.2013)
