A New Companion
Walking out of my parents mansion I happened to hear a small whining sound. I looked behind me to find a little silver wuf laying in the corner of the court yard. My father wouldn’t allow pets so it couldn’t possibly be theirs. I shrugged it off and walked through Pandaemonium. After arriving to the tavern I came across a bit of an issue.“No pets allowed!” Shouted Jeck. “Wh-what? I don’t have-..” before I could finish my sentence the sound came from behind me again. Turning around I noticed the little mutt had followed me. I bent down and got closer to eye level with him. “Go home.” I snarled at him. He just stared. Tongue hanging out, ears flopping around aimlessly. So I did my best to scare him, growling and snapping my fangs. Sadly this hadn’t worked. He just leaped a few feet away, spun around and barked at me. My right hand slid across my face in mild irritation. Leaning against the door frame of the tavern I stood there, just watching this wuf. He seemed to do the same to me. After sometime passed he started playing with the nearby bugs flying around the garden and tree. This gave me an idea. Pulling out a long twisp rope I called over the mutt. Looping it around his rather large head and leading him over to the tree, I secured the rope. I could finally get a few needed drinks. Sitting in the bar I could still hear the little pups crying. I didn’t have any pets of my own but I loved animals. It tugged at my emotions to hear him whining. After a long winded battle of what I should do about the situation I took the last bit of my second glass in one shot. Walked out the door and looked at him. His attention immediately went to me, ignoring every other citizen of Pandaemonium. A sigh and a rather long built up growl passed my lips as I walked over and removed the rope. “What do you want from me?” I questioned him. Don’t know what sort of answer I expected from a wuf besides a bark. But that’s what I got in return. “You are obviously lost.” he barked again. Why was I talking to a wuf? Had I become that lonely for companionship? It had only been a few short months after my fiance passed away after all. I let out another sigh and decided to go ahead and take him home til I could find out who his owners were. Walking to the Vanahal District was a trip of trying to think of a name to call him for now. He ran into everything, smelled everything, even while hoping around he would step on his ears and fall face first into the road. That is when I came up with it. Facetank. I thought this was a rather fitting name for him. Mainly after letting him rummage around my room. He would fall or have stuff fall on his face and he would somehow be perfectly fine. After awhile I had learned not to leave him unattended. If I had, I’d come back to ripped up potion recipes, books, supplies, orders, and well pretty much anything that could be chewed on. A month or two went by and no one claimed him. I believe I asked everyone in Pandaemonium two or three times. Maybe he wasn’t really a lost pet after all, but if that was the case what is he. Today, Facetank isn’t my only pet, but he is by far my most cherished. I’ve trained him to detect the Elyos and he’s always keeping me company not only at my home in Pernon but when I’m alone on the battlefield. There are times I feel a strange sort of familiar sense about him, but I’ve since shrugged that off whatever it might be. Though we had a rough start I must say I am glad he found me.
