Today marks the anniversary for eight years of facetroid. Sure, not much happened overall... Except, y'know, Tourian being moved to Phaaze, the Chairman of the Federation being imprisoned for treason, rogue Aurora Units breaking the Federation... the usual.

I'm glad to see that everyone who's still here has improved in their writing over time... the early facetroid days were fun but I can't say it made for good reading. Of course now there's like fifteen different crossovers and eight years of backstory so it's not like you could just sit down and read facetroid anyway.

I hope we can have a story that's not about a strain of phazon corrupting everything... maybe the kennets could be that conquest. Maybe I need to go back to Yukiko again.

I think way too hard about stuff sometimes. I have most of Ezekiel's hand gestures figured out, which is interesting given that Pirates only have three fingers. Most of the visor input style is scrolling. I did all the motions with my hand as I was posting.

We have spent over eight months doing this phazon war story. The beginning, of course, being the cave exploration by Echo Squad and Chondra.

Anyone can say the word and I could put most everything in place to kill Dark Samus tomorrow.

I would love it it someone would say the word.

Bird.

Bird is the word.

Also, I think we need to ease up a bit on the planning super large stories, since that might be why facetroid has gotten so dull. Neko is the prime example of this. No one knows what Neko's going to do, and that's what makes me flail around in happiness when I find a Mother Brain post in my feed.

Sometimes in games I get a little too emotional about the enemy.

I'd gone through four Metroid quarantine caves in Prime and had finally reached the other side. I looked through the force field to find a Plasma Trooper across the room, and despite the simplistic idle animation he seemed to be working on a console. As I stared at him, I wondered what he was doing and what he was thinking, how he ended up where he was, what his name was...

I figured he was talking to the other trooper I knew was upstairs, based on the infrequency at which he messed with the console. I imagined that while he had probably volunteered for the advanced weapons training, he hated how uncomfortable the armor was despite its protection.

That's when I finally disabled the force field, and watched as he died before me.

Dark Samus: Calm down mother, I'll suppress Miasma and Rytheus

Miasma: noo... actually.. yes, I kinda like this

Rytheus: okay
