My dear Aurora got recently repainted as I'd been unhappy with her last faceups pretty much since I did them because I had just made the switch to working with acrylics and didn't have a good paint retarder yet, nor did I know how to thin them well yet.
I am super happy with these faceups though. Shortly after these pics, I made her new eyes out of resin.
I love the depth resin eyes can have, they look so much nicer in her than the flat acrylics I made years ago. I've been having fun making eyes and definitely want to make more!
These were her old faceups, you can see how clunky and thick her eyelash and eyebrow hairs are. Just all around way too messy!
And her new faceups to compare! I've technically painted her 11 times, but since she's gotten more faces over the years that number is high. All in all, I have painted her in 5 times, twice when she only had one face, once when she had two, and twice more when she had 3.
Here are the other faceups she's had, her original theme was purple, but with her being a princess I decided she should have golden scales instead. I'm glad I went back to her having forehead scales, as they peek out behind her bangs really cutely.
