Dynamic Facial Reanimation Surgery and Tarsorrhaphy This middle aged gentleman has had long standing right-sided facial paralysis with resultant facial asymmetry. He presented to our hospital for dynamic facial reanimation surgery. Treatment planning was explained to him and he consented to surgery. A strip of fascia lata was harvested from the costus lateralis thigh muscle. One end of the fascia lata was sutured to the lower end of the temporalis muscle and the other end was connected to the muscles of the lower lip. This was followed by lateral tarsorrhaphy where a 2 mm incision was placed at the grey line and marginal epithelium was excised. Opposing edges of lid margins were then carefully sutured. Care was taken not to compromise the ciliary line anteriorly and the lid margins posteriorly. This resulted in the patient regaining ability to smile normally again and reestablishment of facial symmetry. 📞 Phone: +91 44 4294 7222 📬 Email: [email protected] 🌍 Website: www.smbalaji.com 📍 Location: Chennai, India #facialpaalysis #facialasymmetry #facialreanimation #surgery #drsmbalaji #smbalaji #balajidental #maxillofacialsurgeon #maxillofacialsurgery #india #chennai #tamilnadu (at Balaji Dental and Craniofacial Hospital) https://www.instagram.com/p/CC8Yek0Hz9i/?igshid=17g0ioek4jpvm
