Dear (future) Supermodel
Letter 1
Dear (future) supermodel,
Rejections are a part of life. In the modeling world, it is even more so. You will encounter rejection after rejection, from agencies, to castings. Try not to take it too seriously.
Keep moving forward.
Sometimes, it's just a matter of branding. Sometimes, it's a matter of the directors having an off day. Or sometimes, you're having an off-day. No matter the reason, always say to yourself that this is not a setback, this is an opportunity for something greater. God has bigger plans for you and sometimes, what you see is not big enough. So, trust the process. Keep moving forward.
People will tell you that no matter what, keep a smile on your face. I'll do you one better. Keep a smile in your heart. When you are grounded in your values and believe in the future you deserve, know that things will come together at the right time and place. God's got you. Keep moving forward.
Finally, someone once told me to make my heart a model and it stuck with me. From the moment you walk in, you are constantly being watched, judged, and talked about, whether in the room or outside. In this profession, it is only natural that the subject is about you and your looks. So make your heart a model. Be more than just a pretty face. Finish every meet with a confident and professional demeanor. Walk with poise and grace. That way nothing can touch you, because you know that you are walking on the right path, and the right people will see and love the inner you.
