Writing Q+A/meet the author
Author’s name: Bea ( @word-ish )
Why did you make the blog?: I wanted to share my serious writing and my shit post writing
What do you enjoy writing?: Sarcasm, relationships, occasionally smut, bluntness
What do you write?: I write fanfiction and original stuff
Why do you write?: It helps to get my mind off of things and, overall, it is really calming.
How do you stop a Writer’s block?: I find those cute 30 day writing prompt things and just write based off of those. Sometimes, if I am having a block for a specific book, I’ll write with those characters. I also do this to help develop and learn my characters, especially if I have an idea of how they will act by themselves, but not with another character. This also helps me to individualize my characters so they aren’t all photo replicas of each other.
Who are your favourite characters(OC)?: TWWF: All except Hecate and Dominico; ;lkjfdsa: Blake i guess; The Doctor’s Journal: pretty much everyone(it isn’t too developed yet); Factor H: Cillian, Hollis, Moa, Hyacinth, Fletcher, Amara, Pom, Corylus, Leroy
Which characters do you hate(OC)?: TWWF: Hecate and Dominico; ;lkjfda: I just hate this book in general(but i still love it because i created it); TDJ: The bad guys who are currently nameless because I haven’t even written the first chapter; Factor H: Oleander
Favourite characters(not OC)?: nearly everyone from Percy Jackson(#stopthejasondiscourse), Harry Potter, Hermione, Ron, Remus, Sirius, James, Lily, Magnus Bane, Magnus Chase, Alec Lightwood, Laurent of Vere, Damianos of Akielos, Erasmus, Nicaise, Jem(from TMI/TID, i cant remember his last name), Achilles, Patroclus, Aristotle, Dante. Quintus, Caecilius, Grumio, Metella, Melissa, Poppaea, everyone from Cambridge Latin Course tbh except Clemens is on my shitlist right now, I especially love Cerberus and Quintus(follow me on instagram @vinum.bibit )
Characters I hate(not OC)?: Delores Umbridge, Snape(before you attack me, he is an excellently written character, but I hate him as a person), nearly everyone from TMI and TID, The Regent of Vere(he can suck my ass I want him to burn in Hell), Kastor of Akielos, Hector
Fandoms(if any) that you write for?: Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Captive Prince, The Mortal Instruments, Cambridge Latin Course
Books you are currently working on?: The titles are a WIP, but without further ado:
Bad Blood: I can’t lie, I haven’t looked at this one in three years, so I completely forgot the whole plot of it oopsie daisy. Also, wth even is the title im screaming.
;lkjfdsa(I kid you not, that is the actual name): This one is so cringey, I cry a bit every time I go back to revise it. The literal only thing about the plot of this book that I have written down is “Alex’s parent are actually both small people and her mother had taken over in her past life and her past life took over her and she and her husband(alex;s father) take over and rule all by “ and it just ends in the middle of a sentence. To be fair, I wrote most of this book in like two weeks at 3AM lol
Revolution: This WIP is literally only one paragraph long, but I think this one was going to be a historical fiction piece that was probably gay, knowing myself
The Doctor’s Journal: this one is actually pretty good. It is about these two guys who keep an orphanage kind of thing and school the orphans. Eventually, war catches up to them and they have to hustle the children out. However, the “Doctor” dies, leaving behind his journal and his memories. Each chapter starts/will start with the fitting entry that happens primarily in that chapter, but leaving out some parts(and I planned to make a separate book with all of the Doctor’s journal entries).
Factor H(title pending): but this is about a boy who was in a nearly fatal car crash when he was a child, and unfortunately lost his father. During the crash, half of the boy’s soul is replaced with an Angel’s soul; unfortunately, his soul is lose, and both Heaven and Hell have been fighting to get it. Alternate titles: The Hollis Effect
This War We Fought: This is one of my favourite ideas, honestly. I have written only a chapter and a half of it, but I have so many plans for it and I can’t wait to put them into action. Anyway, this book is a dystopian/utopian novel that takes place really far into the future after a nuclear blow out. The world, with a significantly decreased population, was divided into eight different Clans, all surrounding the city of Bast(named for the surplus of cats there). Each clan is governed by an Advisor, who has a Scribe to help with reading and writing papers, speeches, etc. By chance, Xeno’s Scribe has passed from a very sudden illness. The Advisor needs a new Scribe, fast, or he wouldn’t be able to go to the annual meeting. To avoid the harsh consequences of the Overviewer, he quickly chooses teenager Ezra West, and from there, it all goes downhill.
