“Appearance without life of Berni” - Buenos Aires, Argentina
For context: In April 2020, a man named Facundo Castro disappeared in a small town of Buenos Aires. He was last seen in a police car and evidence showed that has been taken to a police station before disappearing.
His mother received a text from him explaining that he was going to leave town with his girlfriend, but this was presumably fake, sent by the police, who were covering for their actions.
Sergio Berni is the minister of security of Buenos Aires, was responsible for the police cover-up.
Many demonstrations began when the case was made public, and a common phrase seen in those movements was “Appearance alive of Facundo Castro” (aparición con vida de Facundo Castro).
“Appearence without life of Berni” is a clear reference to that phrase, but wishing for the death of the minister Berni.
