The child asked why he looked so sad. When the Fae said he missed his lost son, the child replied, “Oh, I’m sorry. My mom is gone, too.” “I know. Where is your father?” The boy explained that his father was a knight, and wouldn’t be back for a few days yet. Close family was taking care of him until then. They would probably be his guardians when his father left again. When Glennen pointed out the wooden sword on the boy’s hip, the child explained that he also wanted to be a knight, and to protect the people like his father. However, no one was willing to teach him until he was older.  “I know people who need protection. They will teach you all you need to know, and you won’t have to burden your uncle while your father is away.”  “I’ll get to be a knight like Dad?” “He’ll be so proud.”
