bubble bath -- do you have any routines before bedtime? like skin care, etc. what are they?
BALTHIER TAKES HIS BEAUTY VERYYY SERIOUSLY . he’s not one of these guys who just uses their girlfriend’s stuff willy nilly because they don’t know what each product is used for , oh no , he has his own personal skincare and beauty cabinet right there in the Strahl . Balthier is definitely a purveyor of the finer things in life , and his nighttime routine is no exception . Usually , he starts winding down with a rose bath , either in the company of the beautiful Fran or with his head tucked into a good book , or a map , hunting where in Ivalice their next treasure is . After his bath , he cleanses his face with a variety of fancy creams , masks and perfumes , smelling of a herby musk or a fresh flower garden , depending on the mood he’s in . He’s also a massive cuddler , so Fran always expects a few snuggles before bed .
glitter -- describe someone special to you.
The obvious choice is his sky pirate partner , the wonderful Fran . Ever since their chance meeting and their close working arrangement together as pirates in the sky pirate business , Balthier has looked no closer than the viera for a comrade he can rely on nor a shoulder he can cry on . She is the epitome of trust in his life and he would place his life in her hands any day of the week . He’s most attracted to her alpha qualities ; even being a bit of an alpha male himself , Balthier takes the beta role when it comes to Fran , since she can both literally and figuratively kick his ass if she so wanted to . He rarely shows any true affections to anyone but her and the issue of a hume - viera partnership never once crossed his mind . The fact she’s about half a foot / a foot taller than him really tickles his pickle too .
robe -- how do you prepare for an evening alone with a loved one/date?
He is a true romantic at heart ! A date alone with his loved ones is expected to include a candlelit dinner , perhaps on the Strahl with the roof open to see the vast constellations that adorn the sky . He personally cooks , of course , and always has a bottle of wine ( cheap but adequate if it’s from his pocket or luxurious if it’s stolen . . . ) to put the romance into the date . He’s an atrocious dancer , so if there is a ballroom dance to be had , he’d have some string music or piano piece prepared to play , and he’d put the utmost effort into the dance , but unless his date was the next anna karenina , it likely would be a bit of a flop .
