"Oh, is that so?" He looks at her. A grin beginning to grace his lips. "Alright, you've piqued my interest. Now, care to elaborate?"

joy is such a contagious thing. blossoming between bells of laughter, light and lacking the weight of the world. between the crackling of their fire sits this moment of merriment made between the daunting tasks that they'll have to face come morning. a bit of respite where he can at least momentarily- if even for a few seconds- put aside the growing storm in his chest and the pressing issue of their unwanted cerebral companions. ( a train of thought that he would rather not dwell on lest his smile go sour. )

gale's own amusement grows, a pleased little smile that melts into something warmer. wrinkles come to the corner of his eyes, her words only serve to make him want to do so more. "no promises, i'm afraid! i've plenty more stories to tell, if you're interested."

she barks a laugh and doesn’t care that it draws the camp’s attention. thankfully, the beast of burden that she’s unsaddling doesn’t react. fingers continuing to work the straps, she tosses over a shoulder, “ i think i’d rather face a pack of starving wolves with my arms tied. ”

and oh, the stories she could share! vallaki is a prime example; look what the pride of its burgomaster caused. “ or a dragon, ” she adds with a thoughtful hum. “ i think i could take on a dragon. ”

joking finished, she turns to @faeruninked. “ i’d say we ought to do our best to avoid them, but i think i have a talent for finding them without trying. and promptly pissing them off. well. . . it should make for an interesting time, right ? ”

assassin’s creed: mirage

“ it doesn’t ? ” they aren’t trying to be smart, even if the urge bubbles up. so little is known of shadowheart that they leap upon the chance to pull back the veil, hoping for a shard of information. unfortunately for @faeruninked, it means that the dawnbringer’s attention has refocused. 

the blades of grass are unfortunate, too. florence picks at them while thinking. “ i’m not sure what it means to me, ” they admit this with a dismissive shrug, twisting the grass together, “ but i know it means. . . something. bittersweet, i think. ”

or rage. it could mean that, too.

“ do you think it could ? mean something – good, bad, or something in the middle. ”

“So, I don’t think I’m dying, or anything, and it’s probably not that serious, but… I’m kinda bleeding. A lot.” (gale)

"I um - I can see that, yes." Dark brows arch up in surprise at the display before them, huff of a breath escaping their chest as though trying to expel out the shock that spiked.

"It seems like a good head wound - I'm not exactly a healer, but I do know head wounds tend to bleed quite a bit, even the minor ones. Here, come sit down - I can take a look at it."

A strong arm carries the spawn with ease over her shoulder, a heavy breath escaping from deep within the genasi's chest. "Not until you calm the fuck down."

Wyll knew that was an understatement. But he'd learned to study her gestures, read enough about the things she was willing to give away that suggested there were times when she was genuinely in distress.

He wouldn't mention that he'd seen her wince and the eerie glow that sparked across her hand. Not until he'd gauged her full reaction.
