I haven't seen anyone point this out yet, so for those who don't know, there's an extra clue that doesn't come across well in English.
Japanese has different "counter" words that are used when counting different categories of objects.
Ageseine (disguised as the shopkeep) says "All six (roku-mai) are here!" "Roku" is the Japanese word for six, and "mai" is the counter word for flat objects.
Anna is right, It would be weird to use "mai" for a turtle's limbs & head, which aren't particularly flat. If the perpetrator thought they were petals, on the other hand...
Ahhh I love that they changed the aspect ratio to 4:3 for the plush ranger commercial!
Such a nice touch; I'm always happy to see them make use of the 90s setting, even in small ways like this :')
Not sure if anyone's mentioned this yet, but this is in fact referencing a real doomsday prophecy made by Nostradamus in the 1500s.
I only know about it because Chainsaw Man makes reference to it, as well! I wonder if it was a big deal in Japan back in the 90s...

This whole episode I was like, "Wow, the director's pants are kind of distracting...what a bold choice."
Later I thought to myself, "Huh, this is the first time I've struggled to guess the culprit...wouldn't it be silly if the dress was in those huge pants lol."
