Happy TbTT! What is one common "rule of writing" that you don't like/doesn't work for you? Or on the flip side, what is one that you swear by? (Sorry for taking so long to send you one!)

I hate the “never use adverbs” rule. I use them a lot so... yeah, I throw that one out the door. I don’t really swear by any except I guess the actual grammar rules. The only grammar rules I flat-out ignore are some punctuation rules. I end a lot of sentences before the sentence is technically complete if I’m trying to get a certain voice or inflection across.

3. Name 3 songs that describe your WIP or give you WIP feels.

one song that gives me intense wip feels and also describes part of my wip is Endgame by Zomboy! i listen to this song when writing The Fear of Yesterday. the lyrics fit well with the story? they hint at going through some kind of hardship alongside someone and that's basically The Fear of Yesterday's second half in a nutshell

i love you by Billie Eilish reminds me of the couple from The Door to Tomorrow, and therefore gives me wip feels haha. its so sad and it fits so well bc at the end of The Door to Tomorrow the two characters have to go their separate ways, which sucks, bc guess what? one of them just finally said "i love you" to the other guy ohhhh fuck!!  (that's not a spoiler btw i swear) but the melancholy in this song. the regret. that's the mood the characters' last scene together gives off. big mood

Headshot by she is actually an instrumental song but. ok this is gonna sound weird but the first time i heard it i immediately got wip feels and i was like "oh my god?? if my character Bane were a song this would be It?" i'm not sure how to explain that one but damn that song hits

i know this is four songs instead of three but i MUST mention House of Cards by BTS. look i'm not exactly a bts fan or anything but listening to this song takes me back to The Door to Tomorrow's uh,,,, "romance" lol. the english translation i found is pretty vague but it describes a romance that's falling apart (i think, oh god i hope im not misremembering) and mentions "even if it's a dream" which is a big plot point in The Door to Tomorrow so obviously it makes me feel wip feels but like really really intense

13. Tell us about your process. Do you set goals for yourself? If so, tell us about them.

i usually open up my evernote before anything else to make sure i'm not missing anything important, and if i have something written in there already i'll copy and paste it into the actual chapter. for some reason, i find it really hard to continue after i do that? like if i have most of a chapter already written it immediately becomes ten times harder to just fill in the gaps and post the chapter. but most of the time i can do it!

anyway after that i go back and correct grammar mistakes with grammarly. and then i stare at the chapter for way too long so i can be absolutely sure i didn't leave something out. and then i post it! and then two days after posting it i realize there's a continuity error and try to fix it before anyone notices jdksfjfnvfslijd it happens every time

as for my goals, i used to try to upload a chapter per week, but that was years ago.i stopped doing that because i had major writer’s block for a long time. also because i hit a point in the story i was writing where i realized i was working too quickly and therefore had no idea wtf was going on anymore so i was like “oh......time to slow down i guess”

How have they changed over time?

In terms of personality, sort of. Kimura Bakugō is almost a mirror image of her father in high school, but... she’s a little nicer than he was. Yeah, she does bully a few of the other kids, but she grows up during her second and third years. This attitude persisted on, but I changed her to be a lot nicer and more open, yet still keep the same edge. So now, she has an easier time making friends. 

Do they have any phobias?

Kimura has isolophobia. She is terrified of being left alone, especially by her father, Katsuki Bakugō. She lost her mom at a very young age, and when she learned about it, she became horribly frightened of losing her father.

7. Which character that you’ve written is most like yourself? 

Hm, I guess that would be Fay Briar, y’all haven’t met her yet though. 

22. Do you listen to music when you write? 

Absolutely! 

30. What’s your favorite part about writing? 

Telling the story, making the characters come alive, putting the worlds inside of my head on paper and making them come alive. making anyone who reads my works happy, even if it is just one or two people.

6. Do you share your work before it’s finished?

yeah! i post my stories one chapter at a time on wattpad. as of right now nothing is finished except The Door to Tomorrow.

and i also share little excerpts every now and then here on writeblr too.

28. What’s your inspiration for writing?

anime inspired me to write in the first place and it still does! every time i see an amazing storyline and characters in an anime it makes me want to create something like that. the one show that really inspired me to start working on original fiction was puella magi madoka magica if i recall correctly. when i saw that show i was like "oh my god?? i wanna do something vaguely similar?" and i'm working on it i swear haha. that's what this whole aeyaverse thing is leading up to.

18. Would any characters from one of your works go well with your others?

i think Tommy (the protagonist from a story called Tales From Willow Grove) and Reiji (deuteragonist from Today and Forever) would kind of get along if they ever met, especially if they were the same age.

Tommy is obsessed with someone he loves, but like in an extreme yandere way? and Reiji has a similar obsession with someone (although his isn't as extreme). so they'd understand each other pretty well. if they knew each other i'd imagine they'd also commit a few murders together oops. and since they lead such different lives (in different countries, for the most part) it'd be cool to see them as friends or something.

i also think Reiji might work well with a lady from Return to Crimson Avenue named Makoto. i can't really go into too much detail because of spoilers but they've both been involved with the same supernatural phenomenon and things would get interesting if they ever crossed paths. and they're both pretty bold and intimidating so it'd be fun to see them interact, honestly.
