Welcome to the Fertility and Genetics Institute! Located in coastal Maine, the Institute began operations in 1992 and partially opened to the public sector in 2005. The property spans over 100 acres and includes the primary research building, external offices, facilities locations and a small housing division.
The original facility, The Cartmouth Asylum, was purchased by the current Institute provost and acclaimed geneticist Audrey Lewis and has evolved to be a center for genetic and obstetric research.
These days, Audrey and their team study the effects of various trial medications and lifestyles / practices on the outcomes of real pregnancies.
