The Fagus factory represents the original work of modernist industrial architecture. It was the first major building by Walter Gropius, famed for the Bauhaus architectural movement. Gropius designed a glass and steel construction. Walter Gropius' Fagus factory has long been considered a frontrunner of modernist architecture. Sleek design and airy glass facade made Mr WG influential both in it's day and also now. WG designed the Fagus Factory when he was just 27 years old, and was his first building to be built, with construction starting in 1911. Mr WG went on to found Germany's internationally renowned #Bauhaus design school in 1919.
