DON’T LOVE ME FOR FUN GIRL
LET ME BE THE ONE, GIRL
LOVE ME FOR A REASON~
LET THE REASON BE LOVE
So canonically
Fahrid is my most handsome character. Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but within context, he is probably the one that people will most likely notice how handsome he is, and remark upon it. Braden is more noticeable, and magnetic - he’s a lot more charismatic, and is a lot more likely to make his presence known. Plus he’s very distinguishable, given his peculiar appearance and attitude for a miqo’te, and his tendency to make himself the center of attention. Anton is also very distinct, and his dark charm has a tendency to mesmerize people - but at a glance, Fahrid is going to get the most notice for his looks alone.
Canonically Fahrid is also my most physically-fit character. He is the strongest; he has the best constitution, is the most athletic. Braden is probably faster, and has exceptional endurance, but Fahrid is overall more balanced. Anton is the least fit, but he’s still in pretty good shape, and has a lot of endurance (heh, heh. What? He needs it for all that magic..)
It’s hard to say who the smartest is, and I think each of them shine in different ways. Overall, Anton is probably the smartest, if we’re talking both practical and academic knowledge. He has functioned as a secret spy successfully in Eorzean society for a long time, so he’s probably just as savvy about that as Fahrid is, and he is exceptionally well-educated. Braden is the least educated, but is still pretty sharp, witty, and he obviously is the most ‘street smart’. Fahrid has a balance of both.
Fahrid is probably the wisest. ‘Wisdom’ can be hard to classify; in a lot of game systems it’s tied to common sense, morale, to how attuned your senses are, and to your overall willpower. Braden has a lot of ‘common sense’, but he makes bad decisions, indulges a lot, and can be a bit of a coward if it’s easy for him to be. Anton has strong willpower and temperance, but he has a lot of indulgent weaknesses and can let himself get carried away. Fahrid is absolutely level-headed, has very good common sense, exceptional insight into peoples’ words, razor-sharp senses, and while he enjoys his vices, he absolutely does not need them and will abandon absolutely anything if it protects his identity.
Braden is probably the most talented of the three. He’s a good singer, dancer, performer, musician; a decent actor, an exceptional fast-talker, a great liar. He can cook, he can sneak; if you give him a locked, trapped room guarded by eagle-eyed killers, he’d find a way in and out without ever being noticed. He can write bawdy lyrics or endearing poetry. He can make you a loaf of bread, the knife to cut it with, and the table to eat it at (chairs included). He can raise the morale of a group of soldiers, and he can coax free drinks for them out of the pretty waitress. He can do a little bit of pretty much goddamn everything. Fahrid’s skills are mostly limited to sneaking, killing, and deceiving. Anton’s good at magic, deception, sex, and that’s about it.
I think overall, Fahrid is my ‘best’ character, in the sense he has the most balanced set of strengths and the fewest weaknesses. He’s handsome, he can be charming without being offensive. He’s good at what he does, and dependable in doing it. He has a physique, a face, and a personality most men would envy. He’s adaptable, smart, capable, and can quickly pick up a talent if necessary for his job. While what he does is generally evil, he does it reliably; he doesn’t betray anyone, nor does he carry particular malice for the people he dispatches, or for the people who employ him. It feels weird saying my remorseless assassin is my best character, but he probably is, if we broke it down into like... statistics, and life success.
Braden is a mess, but he’s a fun and charismatic mess.
Anton is the man you hide your wives from at night.
