This week has been one failure after another.  I failed to be properly cautious online and got a virus on my computer. I failed to prepare for this kind of disaster and permanently lost files with important information. I even failed to respond with the gracious reply one of my students obviously expected when he asked me why I looked so bad this morning.  So, I'm going home to make roast chicken and mulled wine, pet my dog, and perhaps watch a Christmas movie or two. These are things in which I'm reasonably confident of success.
