So my mother came over, and when she left the dog basically flung herself in the direction of the car. Long story short, the dog is now gone on a sleepover because she loves my mother more than she loves either of the humans who habitually feed or walk her.

The roomie spent the past week or so building huge children's-librarian things out of cardboard boxes and acrylic paint. Pekoe is a) now liberally daubed with rainbow colours, due to her need to investigate each and every box and b) a very good (patient) doge.
