After a month at home in Ireland, Seamus is back and ready to step up in his recovery from a broken leg. The hard work starts here... 💪🏼 #EFC #Everton #premierleague #faireland #seamuscoleman
Best fans ever! Great performance throughout eurocopa @fairelandofficial . Very proud! 🍀⚽🏆❤ #euro #eurocup #ireland #faireland #bestintheworld #fans #soccer #performance #proud #irlandeses #irish ❤⚽🏆
I haven't posted at all about the Euros because I've been too busy watching them. But my boys are out now, so it's time to make a post.
The game against Spain could have gone much better, and there are a lot of weaknesses in the squad that were glaringly obvious during the match. But despite that, there were two things I really loved about it. First, the team didn't make any shitty excuses. I haven't seen a single word about the officials, the pitch, or any other nonsense. It's nice to see a team admitting to simply being outplayed. The second thing was the fans. No one supports their team like the Irish. Look at all the green in the video. This is against the reigning World and European champions. You think the proportion of red in the crowd might be a bit higher.
This video was taken after Ireland were 4-0 down to Spain. The game was all but over, and so was their tournament. But the singing was still deafening. I knew someone who was at this match as a Spain supporter who described this scene as "haunting", and even admitted to wishing they were wearing green during this part of the game. We may be out, but it still makes me smile. There is a right way to lose, and this was it.
