Birthday sonnet

Today we celebrate another year,

Of the marvellous Sampson being here.

Though claimed he may now be,

He’s still everyone’s cup of tea.

So we all raise a glass to wish him a Happy Birthday 

And in his honor make mine a bubbly glass of fizz today.

Do you know the biggest problem with vacations?  Sometimes you just need to be around to do things and when you are sunning yourself on a beach you don’t get them done.  In this case I might have indulged in a few little sherries too and missed a birthday.

I hope that Lucio Montague will accept my belated birthday wishes and to sweeten the deal I can throw in what is left of my bottle of limoncello from my little trip south for a few days.  I’ll be honest when I say what’s left we are very much talking about just a few drops but still - it’s the thought that counts.  I hope you had a wonderful birthday Lucio.
