Why you should watch Fairy Tail!

I’m so stupidly proud of this! Although most people who will see this, have probably already watched fairy tail and are part of the fandom, if anyone hasn’t, please give this show a shot, people talk shit about it, but at its core, friendship is its main theme, and why would that ever be a bad thing, if anything, that’s one of the best messages a show could ever have.

I truly ruined my standards for anime after watching this show, nearly ten years ago, because no matter how well written a show or book maybe compared to fairy tail, nothing holds a candle to the way this one anime, made me feel, and I find myself wishing I was watching it instead 🤣

i'm back on my tairy tail bullshit oohh FT zero is very much my roman empire for sooo many reasons. l've done a lot revising and rewriting for it in my head, which has led me to develope very specific designs for all the characters, clearly. mavis and zera definitely got the "that's not even the character anymore" treatment the most though Imao. always trust my audacity to completely change a characters design for fun.

honestly the catalyst to their designs was the fact that I like comparing mashimas writing to greek mythology, and something about mavis's original outfit reminded me of greek garments (chiton, peplos, ect.) I do have a secondary design for mavis where I incorporate the wings she has in her hair, but that's for my "older" version of her. specifically after the end of FT zero. The fact that she's called the "fairy general" or "fairy strategist" (depending on translation) really reminded me of athena, which may or may not have been an influence for her older design, if that gives anyone some ideas on what she may look like

zeras design is pretty straight forward regarding the clothing, and she doesn't change at all later on. I did incorporate the scarring because I felt it'd be interesting narratively, as an illusion, if she physically embodied the injuries she suffered when she died. I mean mavis literally dug her out from the burning rubble of their village. when zera "survives" from these injuries, it drives it in harder how real she was, how much life she'd quite literally been given by mavis. idk it's just something l've thought a lot about, plus I like giving characters realistic scarring

zeref just being like "?" while mavis is having her first real bisexual crisis but ALSO i can just imagine her bringing zeref back and yuri, warrod, and precht going "DID YOU JUST. FIND LIKE A GODDESS IN THE WOODS OR SMTHN???"

I think I want to refine Precht in the future but I did enjoy coming up with ideas for them. Warrod is the largest departure I've taken from the og design so far. Either way hope this meets your expectations!

I imagine Mavis as 19-20 when they meet her giving us about 10 years before she dies. And Zero itself would take place about 300 years, give or take, before canon so we get a nice bit of time for things to change.
