All the Art/Writing Tips I've Gotten So Far [ Part One ]
Decided to but these all in one place, sine I think it's all great help!
Art Tips (Art Blocks/Commissioning)
Ah it’s all right you’re not bugging me at all! Art blocks are horrid and annoying, aren’t they? :( For me, I take a break to take a bath or proceed onto other hobbies for a short while!
After that, I return to draw and refuse to give myself another excuse because the thing about art blocks is that they’re just barrier to block you from your goals! If they stop yourself just by seeing them there instead of working hard to force yourself over it, you won’t be able to pass that obstacle and you’d have wasted a day’s work of improvement.
So whack that art block in the face and force your way through and you’ll be glad that you persevered on! ^~^"

What I do for payments is I have a Paypal account, and I either just leave the money in there for use on the internet, or I transfer it to my boyfriend’s savings account.
As for general tips — don’t ever complete the work and show it to the commissioner without getting paid. It’s really easy to rip off artists that way.
Give your commissioner lots of updates, and don’t be afraid to ask for feedback. If things need changing or tweaking. Most of the time, you’ll get commissioners who are unafraid to tell you what’s wrong, but sometimes you get shy ones

uh, well, when I’m having an art block I try and draw something non-objective once a day, no matter how it turns out. maybe do a sketch page of some ocs, or a favorite character. whether it turns out good or bad is debatable, but it helps.

Ohhhh man, I’m the worst person to ask for art advice. You know those people who make those drawing tutorials, the ones who start with ‘draw a shape! detail the shape! detail even more! done!’? That’s… me.
The most I could offer right now is really get into following the artists you admire and looking at their techniques - but just their techniques. Anatomy isn’t something you can learn from just looking at an artist’s work. Believe me, I’ve tried! But it always ends up in warped anatomy… etc, so you’re best off actually studying bodies/what-have-you AND THEN applying technique (ie: brushes, color theory, etc) to structural knowledge. It took me a couple of years to get to where I am - I’d show you my old art from 2012 if I could, but most of I deleted or lost in the abyss of the Internet - but you can do it too! Everyone says this, but Rome wasn’t built in a day. :)

A couple suggestions I might make would be to pace yourself a little more. I don’t know how long you want your stories to be, but spend a little bit more time building up to the surprise factors. Secondly, and this is something I’m really bad about personally, is show, don’t tell. Give more details and allow the scene to unfold before the reader, rather than explicitly stating “this happened, then this happened.” Let them imagine it in their mind. :)
This post is for fairy-mage (and whoever is interested in knowing the logic behind Laxana as well) - I'm sending this mostly because my Tumblr seems to act up whenever I send links through Ask. Wonder why?
But anyway! These posts where the Laxana ship is explained are here and here. Happy reading! And everyone is free to reblog to spread the Laxana love to people who aren't familiarized with them.
