i wish more people acknowledged the fact that blake's trauma doesn't stop at "his best friend died" and that it's a lot more complicated than that. it's more than highly implied that blake was also abused by loutermilch, and then was forced to set up jessica's 'suicide'. most of the school sequences are focused both on jessica's AND blake's trauma. there is so so much evidence of blake being a victim as well and i never hear anyone talk about it, which is such a shame because not only is it very well written, but it gives a lot more context about blake. his guilt isn't caused by the fact that he wasn't able to help jessica, it was caused by the fact that he views himself as someone who was complicit in her death. that's why he views himself as unforgivable, that's why he's constantly punishing himself, and that's why it took him years to forgive himself and realize that it wasn't his fault. he was just a kid and he couldn't have done anything, it was never his fault. idk idk sorry this is a shit ramble but i really wish people talked about his trauma more in depth because it's so well written and so so good
