Who has the best redemption arc in the buffyverse?

I apologize for being late in answering this--I just saw it! Personally, I have to say Faith. I think she has the benefit of being in both shows for the perfect amount of time before Whedon and Co. ran out of story and decided to deconstruct her character lol. She also was able to leave the shows during the time she was "atoning", which added to the believability of such a drastic character change when she came back.

Honorary mention to Spike in season 5 of AtS because it was so refreshing to see him come into his own and really embrace doing the right thing for the right reasons while not losing his "devil-may-care" attitude. Honestly, kudos to the writers for not watering down both those fun characters in an effort to redeem them. They're still themselves--rough around the edges, irreverent, but trying to do the right thing.

Most likely this change was due to censorship, however all of us agree that we think the change was for the better. Buffy and Grey’s Anatomy Crossover Fanfiction Challenge  Setting: • Buffy: Post Chosen • Grey’s: Season 4 Prompt: After she changed the fate of every potential slayer’s life, making the world a much safer place in the process, Willow decided she wanted to embark on her own path, away from the supernatural. The need to save the world still engraved in her from years of helping Buffy, left her with a need to continue to do so, one surgery at a time. That’s right, Willow decided to use her brains to pursue a life in medicine. This is a Willow/Lexie centered story, although it is up to you whether they are a couple or just best friends. If they are friends, Lexie must be with Sloan and Willow must be with a woman. It is up to you who. Willow and Lexie start at Seattle Grace together and quickly become friends. Willow is there for Lexie as she tries to get to know her sister, and Lexie is there for Willow when her past suddenly becomes her present when Faith pops into town asking for her magical help. You choose the story line you want for it. It can be a small and quick mission or it can become your story. Have fun!

Buffy and Smallville Crossover Fanfiction Challenge 

Settings: • Buffy Season 3 • Smallville Season 2 Prompt: Sixteen-year-old Faith looked down at her bloodly hands in shock. She had though it would be easy, taking a human life again. Taking an innocent life, but she looked down at his lifeless body with disgusts and guilt in her heart. She dropped the knife she had used to take his life and backed away. Months of pushing her feeling to the back and allowing the darkest part of her free, suddenly broke, causing it all to hit her at once. Doing the only thing she knew how to do, she ran. Far, far away from Sunnydale, attempting, but failing to out run the darkness within her. You have two options. 1. The timelines are shifted to make season 1 of Smallville coincide with Buffy season 3. Leaving Clark to Find Faith squatting in the barn in early season 2, about seven – eight months after leaving Sunnydale. 2. The timelines are kept intact, leaving Clark to find Faith squatting in the barn two and a half years after she left Sunnydale. Either way, Faith is lost, drowning in her own sorrows. She comes across the Kent farm and decides to squat there for a few days. Clark finds her, and the Kent’s (being the people they are) offer her a place to stay. Requirements: • Slow burn from them finding her through her becoming part of the family, and them helping her to move past what she did. • Clark and Faith having a sister/brother bond. NO ROMANTIC FEELINGS • An awesome and funny way for the Kent’s to learn about Faith’s abilities and destiny and vice versa. • Martha and Jonathan reminiscing about have two special kids. • Must be funny, while being true to the dark nature surrounding what Faith had done. • Faith helping out on the farm. • The Kent’s making Faith return to school. Pairings: • Faith/Chloe or Faith/Lana • Clark/Lana or Clark/Chloe Other than that, have fun.
