Queen of Evil
Why must I be the fairest of all
the beauty in the dark?
Why must I live to see them fall
when darkness plays its part?
The broken mirror tells no lies,
no more than simple truth.
For in the night, a child dies
a lost tale of broken youth.
Tell her she's beautiful, tell her she's strong
her nature answers to me.
Tell her the reason she's fought it so long
and a devil the angel will be.
A child in death, with darkness in life
we have seen the world burn down.
Caught in a web of hatred and strife
unworthy of treasures they found.
The diamond crown upon my head
was placed there by a king.
But if it falls, if I am dead
I am not an evil queen.
Storybook Love
To be "the one" for someone... Is there such a thing? I mean, we are told that there is an "only one" for every one, but I don't know if I believe in that. I say I don't. I tell others there isn't a such thing... But I think that deep down, I hope there is. I've always thought myself very realistic, but inside, there is an eternal optimist who I am constantly telling to "shut up" and "be realistic!" But love isn't realistic. It isn't logical. Ever... How logical could it be to remove your heart and give it to another? I say there's no such thing as "storybook love"... But I hope. I want a 'great love', a 'great love story.' Not like the Disney crap... But a great love. Someone who I talk to, and they know what I'm going to say before I say it, but they let me finish anyway... Just because they love the sound of my voice and the way the words exit my mouth. Someone who 'gets me' without trying, and who doesn't over analyze me and my sometimes erratic thoughts... Someone who allows me to 'be.' Someone who brings stillness to my chaos, and who loves the chaos I bring to their stillness. Someone who touches me, and electricity seems to flow between us. And when they speak, their voice sends a warmth over me. I've had parts of this type of love that I want... Scattered between different lovers. But I want it all--all within one amazing person who is equally amazed by me. I hope for that... But I don't really think it exists.
