âMr. Gaines,â I say, pasting on my best customer smile when he lifts his gaze to mine.
His dark brown eyes flash with an unfamiliar gleam and my breath catches in the back of my throat. âBack so soon, I see.â
âYou know I canât resist you, Miss Harrison.â His smile is slow. Wolfish, if thatâs really
a thing. I read it in a romance novel once, thought it was kind of silly, but right now, itâs working for Jared.
His entire demeanor right now reminds me of a predatory creature. His face is all hard linesâstern, straight nose, granite jaw, sharp cheekbones, steely eyes. Yet his mouth, his lips are soft. Full. Lush.
Shaking my head at the wayward thought, I return his smile, trying my best to remain
âIs there anything in particular youâre looking for this afternoon?â Iâm surprised by how steady my voice is, considering I feel like my insides are sloshing back and forth, like Iâm on a boat in the middle of the ocean.
âYou donât have anything pulled aside for my appointment?â He raises a single brow, the expression on his face practically daring me to say no.
Well, guess what? Iâm about to say it.
âNo, I didnât pull anything aside.â I shrug when he glares at me. âYou never told me the nature of your visit.â
He glances about, making sure no one is around, Iâd assume. And lucky for him, thereâs no one in the store currently. Itâs the middle of the week, early afternoon. We normally donât get too many customers at this time.
We are the only two people in here. Even Marlo has disappeared.
âPerhaps you can show me some of your newer items,â he suggests.
âI can do that.â All new arrivals are at the front of the store, so weâre in the right spot. I lead him to a table showcasing our latest bra and panty design. âCelestial is the theme for spring into summer.â
I point to the bras made of thin, sheer netting and pink silk, tiny pale pink stars stitched in a scattered pattern across the tulle fabric. They leave nothing to the imagination, and the panties are the same.
âThey hide nothing.â He holds up a pair of brief-cut panties, turning them this way and that. Every time he holds underwear in those big hands of his, I melt a little inside. I donât know why he affects me like this.
âYouâre right. They donât,â I agree, grabbing a thong and flipping it over to the thin
string of lace that makes up the backside. âBut theyâre terribly sweet.â
I glance up to find him watching me. âSweet yet sexy,â I counter, my cheeks going hot
from the way heâs studying me so carefully.
âYou like the celestial theme?â
I nod. Press my lips together so I donât say something I regret. Like, I love this theme, or Do you want me to model the panties for you?
Yeah. Thatâs a bad idea.

I loved this charming, sexy and incredibly entertaining story. I had a blast reading it and I fell completely in love with Sarah and Jared. It was such a fun read and it left me with a huge smile on my face.
I loved their interactions. Such great Hate-Flirt. Such sizzling chemistry. Sarah walks a fine line when she has to deal with Jared at her job, she doesnât take any of his rude, demanding behavior without giving it right back to him. But what she doesnât know is that she is the reason he comes into Bliss. So when he starts sending her some gifts, and then asks her on a fake date she is totally thrown for a loop. Will their chemistry lead to more? You need to read this to enjoy all the juicy details.
Fake date is engaging, steamy, emotional and romantic, and it delivers a sublime happy-ever-after with all the feels.
