None of this is realistic

They want to force us to believe Nic is dating the boy who acts more like a little bro and they spent so much time together but am I also believe she just woke up one day and decided to be a terrible friends too? If I'm supposed to believe this is a "relationship" then it means she dropped her best friend for a dude, stopped supporting him, she's okay with people assuming he does nothing but go on vacations with his alleged girlfriend, the people they date are so insecure about their friendship that they can't hangout anymore and have to delete pics they have of each other, and she can't promote his work like she used to or even go and attend his play but she can make time to visit her gay boyfriend for a month and didn't go see her friend at his play even though she had time before she had to work.

They want us to believe she would date a guy who isn't into her but beams around guys checking them out, looks happier around his 🌈 friends, only posts her when it benefits him, a guy who's too green to understand the basics of what a guy should do for a woman when he's in a relationship, acts too immature to date an older woman, has no charisma to be able to catch the interest of an older woman to where the much older woman would even look his way or take him seriously enough to be in a serious long term relationship with him, a guy she has zero romantic chemistry with and always looks like a friend/sibling or sometimes a child, she would make sure the world sees she's dating a much younger guy in a creepy age gap to where it's almost considered grooming and if the genders were reversed people would not be congratulating her, they would thing it was disgusting, and we're supposed to pretend all of her friends, her family, and his mom would actually approve of this gross age gap? That's not believable at all, some people would create distance, get annoyed if he had to be around, or try to get her to end it. Not that many people would be supportive, it's not realistic. It's already not believable that she would date that guy instead of Luke who she herself has said is perfect.

Then she posts a year old pic of her with the boy while he looks like creepy pedo and he makes sure to post a year old polaroid that only happened because CDAN called them out for not being seen together all summer and because they both have projects to support but we aren't allowed to notice how this looks like a PR relationship

god help me i can not understand the appeal of fake dating

i do not get the appeal of watching two idiots play house and have everyone in their lives know about them while they make up fake reasons why they could never actually be together for real, like it rips all of the teeth out of the pining for me. what's even the point lmfao

the only version i like is if the fake dating is not between the main couple. i can dig a beard storyline. but otherwise like i'm genuinely curious what people get out of it.

They react to blinds and anything that’s said about them SM but you want to believe these are authentic relationships

They still can’t pull off looking like a couple and I’ve seen others in age gap relationships and other PR relationships and none of them look like siblings or aunts with their nephews so it’s weird how they can’t ever look like a real couple ever, we should’ve seen a lot of moments of them having chemistry by now coming from both sides and not just Nic doing all the work selling the illusion. People need to stop saying Nic and Luke were PR but refuse to believe they could be in PR relationships with aspiring actors, models, or dancers when that’s what celebrities do no matter how new they are in the business and if doing PR was so easy for Lukola to pull off then why are they still having such a hard time creating a fraction of it with these alleged partners? Nic knows we say Jake looks gives little bro vibes and never tries to get him to appear more like a boyfriend. Nothing about this alleged relationship is believable, I haven’t seen one thing about him that would make me think he’s into Nic or any woman, they only ever look like siblings or mentor/mentee, there is nothing that would set him apart from guys closer to her age that would be appealing and especially for an older woman to be in a serious relationship with, and it’s no way either other the adjacents would be in long term relationships this long and they want us to believe both of these immature kids are people they would be this serious about when it’s nothing special about either of them and it’s not possible for them to both last this long, there’s no way so many of Nic’s friends and family would actually be this supportive of this creepy age gap and it’s really not realistic to believe his mother would support it, and even if he was into women (not trying to body shame) It’s not realistic to believe a young guy would start dating someone who even fans could see was pregnant or even just looks like she was, sorry I don’t know how to say that without it sounding like I was shaming her but I wanted to say something that I feel is overlooked but I’m not shaming her and I know she’s gorgeous. It’s also weird how she never had the internet scrubbed from all of his gay related post and his gay article and allowed him to continue posting like the gay man he is and allows fans to call him gay when she wants fans to believe she’s dating him and it’s not great that she’s never stood up for him and allows fans to say mean things about him, especially in the beginning of their alleged relationship and the only time she responds to anything it’s when she’s being called out and not to defend him but she has defended Luke even when it was just a blind that nobody noticed and she tried to make it clear her she wasn’t mad at Luke.

It’s not just that we don’t believe them, it’s the way they try to force us to believe them like it’s so important to them

Currently watching a silly and whacky K-drama. It's a lot of fun. It's now entering the stage where the female lead gets pressured by her family to get married and she says fuck it and starts to (consensually) fake date the male lead.

I don't dislike fake dating or anything but whenever adults are involved I think you need like a believable reason for them to do it in the first place, like making someone jealous isn't enough justification for me. This drama doesn't really have that problem because the specific outer circumstances of the characters and Korean culture make it believable enough. And it was just too delicious to see them drop the soon-to-be fiancé bomb at the family gathering. No, my problem lies elsewhere: to pull it off in front of the family they try to make it seem like they've been dating for a while but when asked how long they answer differently and I want to bang my head against a wall.

Because like oh my God, I know you two only had a car ride's time to discuss this but still you should nail down the most important part of your lie beforehand so that you don't contradict yourselves! And if they ask something you haven't outlined before you should have a rule like taking turns answering them, this is improv and the most important rule of that is "yes and". I know it's for comedic purposes but please don't be stupid, the 2nd hand embarrassment is killing me!

This applies to all fake dating by the way because if the goal of two people is to pull off an elaborate lie then the most important thing is that they say the same things and for that to happen you need to communicate!
