while we're submitting crack ships, i think ephraim and lyall should trade boyfriends. ephraim and valerius would have all the homoerotic rivalry of ephinnes and all the angst of ephlyon. lyall and lyon would just be cute wholesome fluff. i need them to interact in FEH.

also because lyon deserved to have been saved by his boyfriend and valerius should've been killed <3

i’m really enjoying hearing about everyone’s hypothetical game/romhack ideas and i feel like i ought to share the one i’m working on with some friends. we call it Faker Emblem

the setting has two countries: achernar, which prides itself on magical ability, and sargas, which prides itself on military strength.

the lord of the game dropped out of achernar’s magic school (mostly populated by nobles) to become a brawler instead. (they’re also a child of divorce. this is plot relevant.)

the game plot begins with them setting out on a quest to find out why their sister, who still attends the school, has suddenly stopped answering letters. this spirals into assembling a group of travelers that eventually turns into an army as they discover the school has been reduced to smoldering ruins and the sargas army is at their doorstep. unbeknownst to the lord, the enemy army is led by their childhood friend…

You and Tobin have an original world for your OCs, what's it called? What are some of the countries/factions in it?

yes, Faker Emblem has its own original setting called Elnath! we were going for something a bit like valentia (continent that absurdly only has two countries on it) and a bit like tellius (the politics are actually interesting). so!

The continent of Elnath is home to two countries: Achernar and Sargas. Achernar is a country that prides itself on magical prowess, and it's ruled by an oligarchy. A group of representatives from twelve noble families - five "major" and seven "minor" - holds council to rule the nation from the uppermost floors of a grand tower in the capital. The rest of the tower houses the Arcane Academy: a school that trains students (mostly nobility) in the foremost arcane arts. Lyall, the game's protagonist, is a dropout from this school.

While Achernar sits mostly to the south, Sargas occupies the north of the continent. Sargas is ruled by a monarchy and prides itself on strength in combat. Deserting the military, for example, is seen as high dishonor - as is allowing someone else to take a blow for you. Sargas is currently ruled by King Hadrian, and was set to be inherited by the beloved Prince Romulus. However, since Romulus' disappearance several years ago, the inheritance has passed to the younger prince, Valerius (who belongs to Tobin @tobegii). Valerius is not as well-loved by the people as Romulus was, and many of them rally even now for Romulus to be found instead of allowing the crown to pass to Valerius.

At the start of the game, tensions are high between the countries, though many don't realize it. Sargas is unhappy because Romulus disappeared on a diplomatic visit to Achernar, but in Achernar, the news has been so covered up that most assume Romulus still holds his position as the crown prince. A treaty has been in the works to allow a formal investigation, but around the time of the game start, the Achernar government stops responding for unknown reasons.

Finally, as you find out near the end of the game, there's a third faction at play: an insidious wizard cult that has made its home in the recesses of Achernar's capital tower, under the nose of the government and school alike. The cult aims to bring back the age of dragons and/or capture said dragons to exploit their power, and they're seeking a vessel from the Sargas royal line in order to do so. It was them who kidnapped (and killed) Romulus, and it was them who blew up Achernar's capital tower to hide their tracks when a treaty threatened their secrecy. The cult presents the final obstacle of the game, one that Lyall and Valerius will have to face down together.

modern AU where rey, javi, and richard all work in a normal office a la The Office and they all hate each other. rey put all of javi's office supplies in jello once to see what he'd do and javi got so nervous he threw up and called out sick for three days. rey and richard alternate between stealing each other's lunches and trying to poison each other via stolen food. javi and richard are still gay or whatever

The Faker Emblem devs are cowards for not giving us a fishing minigame. I don’t care how different they want to be from Three Houses, Samarsa was canonically on a fishing trip when the Arcane Academy blew up. She is on that fishing grind 24/7 and that should be playable!!
