Boo, I missed the Heavy Metal and Heavy Metal 2000 double feature on TV while I was at work (not that it really matters since I own both on DVD, but still).
But after my recent gush about Taarna in a previous post and seeing the ads for the double feature are making me want to obsess over Taarna and Julie aka FAKK 2 all over again. So I’ve been wondering. Do we have an exact year hen each film takes place? I mean, I know the first one is an anthology but what year is it when the Loc Nar is brought to the little girl? What year is it in Heavy Metal 2000?
I’m asking these because I just started thinking about what if the timelines match up in a way that the little girl in Heavy Metal is actually the same age as Julie from Heavy Metal 2000- or close to it? Even if I just use the time gap between the release dates of both movies, that puts 19 years between them. The little girl in the first film looks to be about 9 or 10 to me and add 19 years that would make her around 28/29 during Heavy Metal 2000. That is about the age I put Julie at in Heavy Metal 2000 since she had to have a few years of some sort of academy training and education to be a fighter pilot (I assume she is military or something like that since her flight suit looks like a uniform).
So what if the new Taarna and Julie met? What if the new Taarna (need a better name) just became like a wandering vigilante, following magical evils to defeat and avenging/defending innocent people and then she eventually runs into Julie and the 2 of them team up and become badass space heroes and girlfriends cause I have to make everything I do gay.
I suddenly have a mighty need of fan fics and fan art of these two together now.
