Friends are curious things. Sometimes I look up to notice that they have disappeared, & I question how long they have been gone. Have I lost them in my distraction? Were they called elsewhere while I was inattentive? Was it a “Farewell,” “Until we meet again,” or a “Goodbye”?
Did they outpace me or did I leave them behind? Anywhere they are, I wish them well. Life is a journey, and destinations draw us ever apart, only to find new travelers & friends. If you are a new companion, I say “Well met, we may not be long together, but I shall not forget.”

Matilda. Which is a wonderful story. And also this scene is important because we all remember Matilda was at this brilliant reading level but this is only one of two scenes where we see that Matilda was also a mathematical genius as well.
