The Cabin (Falk Maria Schlegel x Fem! Reader) FLUFF
Hello! I have finally managed to return! It turns out working in a job that quite literally sucked the soul out of me every time I had to go in was making it pretty difficult to be creative, who would have thought! Anyways, I have a lot of stuff coming up (hopefully over this next week I'll be able to play a bit of catch up on things), but, until then, I figured why not return to what I know, right? So, we're just going to be getting into some good old fashioned fluffy scenarios with Falk! Lot's of cliché's, lots of my usual soft bullshit, you guys know the drill at this point lol. From here on out I'm going to try and get one update out a week! Thank you so much for reading and for being patient with updates, I appreciate it more than you could ever know. If you'd like to be added to my tag list or just wanna say hello, feel free to comment below!

You felt nauseous as you wandered the halls towards where you and Father Falk were set to meet. The impending ride had been weighing on your mind all week, making it impossible to focus during your lessons. By the time you had finished packing you were a nervous wreck. It’s not that Falk was unpleasant to be around, you found the exact opposite to be true if you were being honest. He had always been kind towards you, seeming to go out of his way to visit you if he happened to stumble across your lonely form in the library. The conversation that flowed between you was always effortless, Falk always searching for some way to make you smile. No, the reason you were so nervous was because spending this time alone with him would only cement the feelings you had been trying so hard to suppress. It was no secret that Falk was a handsome man, charming, sought out by many Siblings within the Congregation for a chance to have a singular night of his undivided attention. The thought alone was enough to make your stomach twist in jealousy. You knew falling for him would only lead to you getting hurt, so you had made the decision to keep your distance.
“There she is!” But he was becoming so incredibly difficult to resist. “I was worried you had stood me up.” He teases with a chuckle. Your eyes meet his, your breath catching in your throat at their beautiful golden hue, like honey.
“Sorry I’m late.” You apologize bashfully once you find your voice, cursing as one of the wheels of your suitcase catches on the uneven stone floor. “I’m paranoid about leaving something important behind, and my bag ended up being a lot heavier than I had planned.”
“It’s no problem at all, Schwester.” He smiles softly before motioning to your suitcase, “may I?” He doesn’t give you time to respond, knowing you were just going to protest his efforts to help. You don’t miss the smirk he shoots at you over his shoulder, laughing at your baffled expression. “Come on, we have a lot of ground to cover.” He throws your suitcase in his trunk with ease, lifting it as though it contained nothing more than a change of clothes. He opens your door for you, offering you his hand for support as you lower yourself inside. You run your hands over the worn leather seats, the warm reddish-brown material soft under your fingers. The inside of the car was cozy, the large bench seat stretching across the entirety of the cab left you plenty of room to stretch out during the long drive. You released a breath you hadn’t realized you were holding, your nerves beginning to settle as the familiar scent of Falk’s cologne ensnared your senses. Even just the subtle smell brought up a storm of memories; nights spent alone in his office, more often than not finding yourselves drifting a little too close to one another, your evening filled with whispered voices and shared smiles that hinted at something a bit deeper than your easy-going friendship. He slid into the passenger seat with a groan, slotting his keys into the ignition, causing the car to rumble to life. The interior lit up with the dull yellow glow from the dashboard, soft music lazily drifting from the radio. He holds out a thick fleece blanket to you. “Here, the heat in this thing doesn’t always work the best.” You can’t help but smile at the sweet gesture. You quietly mumble your thanks as you accept it from him, he glances at you out of the corner of his eye. “And if that’s still not enough, you can always cuddle up with me to keep warm.” He adds with a teasing smirk. A shocked sound bubbles up from your throat, your eyes snapping to meet his, making him laugh. “Sorry.” He quickly apologizes. “You always look so cute when I manage to get you all flustered, sometimes I just can’t help myself.”
It took you a moment to find your voice, “well, at least you think it’s cute, I guess… you have a nasty habit of making me trip over my own words.” You let out a soft laugh of your own.
He lets out a low hum in response, “consider it payback.” He responds playfully, his eyes slowly tracing over your features, fearing he may never have the opportunity to study you so close again.
“For?”
“Taking over my every waking thought.” Your cheeks grow warm as a flustered giggle tumbles from your lips, the melodic sound was enough to make Falk’s heart race. You fell into a comfortable silence, the soft crackling from the radio filling the empty air between you as he pulled out onto the road.
It was a dark, cloudy December afternoon, you could tell that the storm rolling in wasn't going to be a nice one. The soft music lazily rolled through the speakers as you raced along the never ending highway. Falk let’s out a soft sigh, his arm stretching across the back of the seat. You sat rigid, your fingers nervously fidgeting with the edge of the blanket that covered your lap. ‘Stop freaking out.’ you berated yourself internally. ‘We've been driving for almost two hours, he probably just wants to stretch.’
“You can relax, you know. I promise I won't bite.” He jokes with a chuckle. You clear your throat, attempting to force your posture to relax. He pauses for a moment, mulling over whether or not he wanted to ask a question that had been weighing on his mind for a while. “Why do I make you so nervous?” Your heart stopped. You didn’t want to look at him, feeling as if your eyes met his, he would know all your deepest secrets. There wasn’t anything you wanted more than to confess to him at that moment. You had so many questions you needed answered. There were so many nights you had fallen just shy of shattering every boundary you knew; how badly you wanted to feel Falk’s lips against yours, how you lingered on his every word, desperate for any way to keep the conversation going just so you wouldn’t have to say goodnight, you wanted to know if he felt the same.
“It’s nothing,” your voice was weak when it finally managed to tumble from your lips. “I’m just worried about us getting to the lodge before the weather gets bad, that’s all.” Falk’s lips press into a tight line. He knew you weren’t being honest with him, but he had decided to drop the matter for the time being. He didn't want to risk you shutting him out entirely. You forced your attention back on the road, your pulse thundering in your ears. It was then you had realized it had begun to snow. Thick white globs of precipitation fell from the sky heavy enough to obscure the highway in front of you. Falk tuts under his breath, “this weather is getting bad a lot quicker than I thought it would.” He manages to read the sign that sped past you on the highway.
“We’re still over an hour away from the lodge.” Falk doesn’t miss the nervous tremor in your voice as you added your input.
He offers you a gentle smile in response, hoping to find some way to ease your anxiety. “I know somewhere we can spend the night. It’s probably a good idea to get off the roads before it gets any worse.”
The thought crossed your mind about how you hadn’t really eaten anything today, your nerves this morning making your appetite the furthest thing from your mind. “What about food?”
“I know for a fact that someone was there recently, I’m sure the cabinets are well stocked. But, I’ll find somewhere to stop off along the way, we can pick up any odds and ends we might need.” He reassures you. You tense as his arm falls across your shoulders. After a moment your body can’t help but instinctively melt into his warmth. You relax into his side, releasing a soft sigh as your shoulders finally relax. “I’ll take good care of you Mäuschen, I promise.” The thought of spending even more time alone with him made your heart race.
“I know you will.” You mutter in response. Falk gives your shoulder a soft squeeze, hoping you wouldn’t notice how fast his own heart was beating.
You leave the highway behind, traveling down winding roads completely surrounded by tall, dark trees on either side. Heading into the mountains, you should have expected that the only town to stop off along the way would be like this. The houses few and far between, miles of road stretching between each impossibly long driveway, concealing whatever dwelling that resided at the opposite end. You eventually pull into a gas station, the dull buzz of the lone sign in the darkness makes your stomach turn with anxiety. The parking lot was solid white, a thick layer of snow making the shop's dull red awning bow under its weight. Falk prattles off your favorite candy and drink combo from memory, catching you off guard. He can’t help but laugh at your bewildered expression. “What?” His question was laced with a chuckle, his playful expression drops to your lips before meeting your gaze once again.
“How did you remember that?” You ask softly. He shrugs, a lazy, full body movement that showed he would never reveal his secrets. “I’ll be right back, you stay here and keep warm.” He carefully takes hold of the blanket resting in your lap, pulling it up to wrap around your shoulders. His warm breath bounces off your skin, for a moment it felt like your heart had stopped. You don’t think you had ever been this close to him before, it was the first time you had noticed the way the corners of his eyes wrinkled when he smiled. You thought it was cute. Falk’s expression softens, a fond look settling across his features that makes your chest tighten. He sucks in a deep breath, snapping himself from whatever trance he had found himself in. He tightens his jacket around him before hurrying from the car and inside the store. You watched him through the wall of windows that lined the front, he tossed a smile over his shoulder as he shouted something in response to the clerk behind the counter. He returns shortly after, rushing back to the car with a few flimsy plastic bags slung over his arm.
“It’s not much, but it’ll do.” He smiles, leaning closer to you as he reaches to put the bags in the back seat.
“You are absolutely covered in snow.” You respond with a laugh. You reach out, brushing the fluffy powder from his head. You carefully push your fingers through his hair, combing the strands that had fallen into his face neatly back into place. Falk watches you curiously, he was happy to see you finally starting to let your guard down, even if it was just a little bit. You pause as your eyes meet his, a soft smile settling onto your features as he leans into your touch. You swallow thickly before you manage to find your voice again, “better get moving, we don’t want to get stuck on the side of the road somewhere.” You joke making him chuckle. You reluctantly separate from each other, Falk nervously drumming his fingers on the steering wheel as he tries to keep his mind on driving. You rest your hand on the space in between the two of you, you notice Falk glance at your subtle movements out of the corner of his eye. You jump slightly as you feel his fingers bump against yours, your skin buzzed with electricity where your hands met.
“You’re freezing.” He remarks suddenly, his voice soft in the quiet space.
“I’ll be alright.” You respond quickly, neither of you making any effort to move away from the other.
“I’ll get a fire going once we get to the cabin.” His pinky links with yours, gently tugging your hand closer. You let your fingers slip in between his, your hand immediately getting enveloped in the warmth from his skin. You shift, shuffling closer to him. You hesitantly let your head fall to rest against his shoulder. He tenses slightly before relaxing into your touch, his thumb distractedly tracing through the valley of your knuckles.
“Whose cabin is this anyways? Is it really okay for us to spend the night?”
He chuckles in response, “considering it belongs to my family I think we’ll be okay.” Falk fills the rest of your car ride with stories of his trips here when he was younger. You hung on every word: fishing trips with his father, weekends hiking the mountains around the property, how every so often he would venture up on his own for some time alone with his thoughts. “I was planning on inviting you up here eventually, I guess mother nature decided today was as good of a day as any.”
You glance at him curiously. “You were going to invite me up here?” He nods in response. “Why?”
“Considering that every time I find myself here my thoughts always seem to wander back to you.” Your cheeks grow warm at his confession, he gives your hand a soft squeeze. “This place is very important to me… and it’s something I’ve always wanted to share with you.” He pauses for a moment, searching for something else to say. “Try to be up for the sunrise in the morning, I think you’ll see why this place is so special.” He adds on with a smile.
The gravel driveway crunched under the car's tires, the tall trees groaning in the strong gusts of wind. Falk pulls the blanket around you before helping you out of the car. He wraps an arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his side to help shield you from the cold. He ushers you inside first before following close behind you with your small haul of groceries. It’s dark inside the cabin, the small living room being only illuminated by the pale light of the moon that streamed in through the window. Falk curses as he trips over something in the darkness, fumbling along the wall until eventually stumbling across a light switch. The lamp in the opposite corner of the room filled the space with a dull orange glow, finally allowing you to see the details of the space around you. A well loved leather loveseat sat in front of a neatly kept fireplace, a heavy crocheted blanket draped across the back. A box of expensive looking cigars sat on one of the side tables, a small stack of books sat on the other next to a cup of crochet hooks and knitting needles. Family photos crowded the mantle, the small shiny frames overlapping one another to make space for all of them. Curiosity gets the better of you as you approach them to get a better look, rubbing your hands over your arms to try and dispel any remaining chill from the outside as you examine each photograph. Falk watches on with an amused smile, leaning against the doorframe as you slowly look between each one. Your hands dropped away from your shoulders, folding them neatly in front of you as if you were at a museum, the sight makes Falk chuckle under his breath. You couldn’t keep the smile off your face as you traced over his familiar features, the teenager smiling back at you from behind the glass a scrawny, awkward precursor to the fine man he eventually grew into. It was apparent that Falk’s family had been coming here his entire life; a barefoot laughing boy propped on his moms hip, the next one a few years older, proudly showing off the fish he and his father had caught at the lake, younger versions of all the High Clergy members sat around a bonfire with beers in their hands. “Quite the place you got here.” You remark, shooting a soft smile over your shoulder when you notice his staring.
“I should bring you up here during the summer,” your cheeks grow warm as you watch his eyes flicker over your form, “I can only imagine how beautiful you would look surrounded by all the fireflies.” He lets out a quiet chuckle, studying you for another moment before shaking himself from his thoughts. “I’m going to put this stuff away, I’ll get a fire going, and we can see what we can scrape together for dinner.” He chuckles.
“Sounds like a plan to me.” You respond with a smile.
Falk made quick work of getting a fire started, you watch the flames dance from your position cuddled up under a blanket on the loveseat. A mug of tea warms your hands, a radio crackles softly from the kitchen. You hear the shower turn off in the other room, Falk emerging a few minutes later in a pair of sweatpants cinched tightly around his waist and a baggy t shirt that was drowning him in its dark blue fabric, a faded logo you didn’t recognize neatly swirled across the front in white font. You nod in his direction, “little big on you, aren’t they?” You ask playfully, making him chuckle.
“My shoulders are a little too broad for one of my mother’s nightgowns.” He rebuttals causing you to let out a laugh of your own. He continues to make small talk as he makes his way into the kitchen, every so often his head poking back around the door frame to shoot you some flirtatious smile. He eventually brings you a steaming bowl of soup, carefully handing it to you before collapsing into the cushions beside you. The loveseat dips under his weight, causing your shoulder to knock against his. You were painfully aware of how his body pressed to yours, wishing you had the courage to reach over and take his hand again. “Chicken noodle, fresh from the can.” He jokes with a smile. You thank him softly, sipping at the hot, salty broth. You sat in a comfortable silence as you ate, both of you watching the fire contently. Every so often you noticed how Falk would glance at you out of the corner of his eye, moving as if he wanted to speak only to settle back into the familiar quiet, as if disturbing the peace would make everything fall apart around him. You help him clean up after dinner, taking care of the few dishes you had created in the process. A strong gust of wind rattles the windows, Falk notices you tense as the lights flicker slightly. He responds by simply turning up the radio, taking your hand, and sweeping you into his arms. He glides you across the floor, swaying you in time with the music that filled the room. You can’t stop the surprised giggle that slips past your lips, allowing him to lead you through clumsy spins. Falk trips over his own feet, offering you a bashful smile as you rest your hand on his chest to steady him.
“Easy there, Casanova.” You laugh.
“It’s been such a long time since I’ve danced with anybody,” he admits with a shaky breath, “forgive me if I’m a little rusty.”
“If it makes you feel any better, you’re the only person I’ve ever had the chance to dance with, so I don’t have much to compare it to in the first place.” Falk pauses, glancing down at you curiously.
“I see you at the parties at The Abbey all the time, surely–”
“No one’s ever asked me.” You respond bluntly, hoping he would drop the subject. That part was true, no one had ever asked you to dance. The part you were neglecting to tell him was how that was more than likely caused by the fact you had a tendency to tuck yourself away in some concealed corner, hoping tonight will finally be the night you share more than some fleeting, flirtatious glances with the man that managed to occupy your every thought.
The current song that was playing faded to silence, the soft popping of the old radio filling the dead air in between the station’s selections. “Well, that simply won’t do, now will it?” He straightens himself up, a mischievous glimmer in his eye. He smooths his hands down the front of his shirt. He offers you his hand, your heart racing at the sight of the charming, lopsided smile that you had been in love with since the beginning. He states your name softly, you had never heard it spoken more beautifully than in that moment. “Can I formally request a dance, Mein Herz?” Your fingers brush over his palm, his skin warm against yours as his hand fully engulfs yours. The trumpet from a big band ensemble lets out a few lazy whines before the rest of the instruments join in, your heart pounds in time with the drums steady rhythm. Falk wraps an arm around your waist, easing your body against his. He moves you in time with the melody, a few quick steps across the floor that turn into a romantic sway, pulling you just the slightest bit closer. You couldn’t keep your eyes off him, the fear of tripping over your own feet long forgotten under Falk’s intense gaze. He wasn’t going to let you fall, not without being there to catch you. His fingers knead into the plush of your hip, his thumb languidly tracing through the valleys of your knuckles. He looks down at you with complete, unapologetic adoration. “You are so beautiful.” He states softly, his voice barely loud enough for you to hear over the radio.
“I'm nothing special.” You rebuttal in a similar tone.
“You are to me.” Your heart raced at his confession, butterflies erupting in your stomach at such simple words. You reluctantly part from one another, Falk’s hand lingering on your waist, wanting to keep you within arms reach for as long as he possibly could.
“That was nice,” you couldn’t seem to tear your eyes away from him, “thank you.”
He offers you a simple smile in response, but the sight was enough to make your breath catch in your throat. “Anytime,” he leans down to bring his face closer to yours, his warm breath bouncing off your lips, “you’re quite the dancer.” You let out a soft laugh in response, playfully pushing his shoulder. You cover your mouth, unable to suppress the yawn that escaped you. “We should probably get to bed, I want to get on the road as soon as we’re able to in the morning.” He carefully pushes a strand of hair out of your face.
“You’re probably right.” Your chest tightened slightly, you were having such a great night with him, you wish it didn’t have to end so soon.
Despite Falk’s protests, you would be sleeping on the couch. “You’re a lot taller than I am, you need the space.” When he finally realized you wouldn’t budge on your decision, he reluctantly began gathering whatever spare blankets he could find.
“If you need anything at all, just come wake me up.” He informs you with a soft smile.
“Alright.” You whisper in response. He sways on his heels slightly, searching for anything else to say.
“Well, goodnight…” He pauses before letting your name tumble from his lips, savoring every syllable as if he would never hear something so sweet again.
“Goodnight, Falk.” He gives you a small nod before disappearing into the bedroom, the door shutting with a soft click behind him. You stared up at the ceiling, the light from the fireplace making shadows dance around the room. You nestled into your pillow, your eyes already beginning to grow heavy as warmth began to seep into the blankets. You inhaled deeply, catching the scent of the burning logs and something incredibly familiar. You ran your fingers along the edge of the blanket Falk had given you in the car, the smell of his cologne a comfort in an unfamiliar place. It didn’t take long for you to drift off.
When you awoke the room was pitch black, a few embers clung to life in the otherwise dark fireplace. You shiver as you sit up, it was a lot colder in here now that the fire was out. You jumped as a branch bangs against the window, anxiety slowly creeping its way into your chest as you struggled to get your bearings in the night. Your eyes landed on the bedroom door just down the hall. You didn’t want to wake him, but there was no way you would be getting back to sleep between your rapidly growing fear and how absurdly cold it had gotten. You let your feet drop to the floor, the hardwood like ice beneath you. You grab your blanket, wrapping it around your shoulders. You quietly pad up the hall, stopping in front of his door. You opened it just a crack, cringing as the hinges squeak. You could make out the faint outline of him in bed, the left side of the large mattress completely open for you to slide into. You bolt inside as you hear another loud thwack of a branch against the window. You shut the door behind you, tiptoing around the room in hopes you wouldn’t wake him. You carefully peel back the blankets before slipping in beside him. You lay on your side facing the wall, your body completely rigid as you listened for any signs that you had disturbed him. You let out a sigh when you hear him snoring softly next to you. Your body relaxed into the plush mattress, your achy back finally getting some relief as you settled in. It was much warmer here than it had been in the living room. You let out a squeak when a large hand comes to rest on your waist. Falk’s arm slides around you, grumbling something in his sleep as he pulls you closer. Your heart hammered against your ribs, your eyes wide as you feel Falk’s body press flush against yours. Your hand comes to rest on top of his, debating for a moment whether or not to try and sneak back to the living room. Getting out of the cold seemed like a good idea at the time, but you hadn’t accounted for what you were going to do when Falk woke up the next morning and found you sleeping beside him. You nearly jump out of your skin when you hear him sigh your name, his voice raspy and thick with sleep. His grip on you tightens, burying his face into the crook of your neck. He relaxes as he settles against you, his soft snores alerting you to the fact that he was still asleep. He was so warm, the feeling of the steady rise and fall of his chest lulling you into a state of ease. Your eyes quickly began to grow heavy, melting into the mattress, the weight of Falk’s arm blanketing over you as he continued to hold you close. You begin to drift off, hearing a soft ‘I love you’ tumble from Falk’s lips before sleep takes you.
You wake up the next morning to the first light of dawn creeping in from a window beside the bed. Now that it was day, you had the chance to take in the details of your surroundings. All of the furniture was the same warm-toned wood, more pictures like the ones that decorated the mantle covered the wall. A heavy, dark green comforter blanketed the bed, you could spend all day wrapped up in the warm, luxurious fabric. The closet was filled with thick winter jackets, snowshoes, backpacks, and other outdoor gear. Falk stirred behind you, nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck with a soft groan. Your body goes rigid as you feel him stretch, he freezes mid motion when he realizes he’s not in bed alone. You don’t say anything, you don’t even breathe, unsure of how to breach the conversation of you being in his bed. “I guess that wasn't a dream I was holding you in my arms last night, was it?” The sound of his raspy morning voice makes your heart race. “Lucky me.” You could hear the lazy smirk laced into his tone.
“Well, good morning to you too.” You respond sleepily. Your chest tightens as he chuckles, the deep rumble vibrating through your back.
He pauses for a moment, his thumb languidly stroking over your hip. “Did I, um…” he mulls over his words, searching for the right way to ask you what was on his mind. “Did I say anything in my sleep?”
Your mind immediately races back to the hushed confession that tumbled from his lips. “You might have.” You respond hesitantly.
Falk chuckles, cursing under his breath. He fully thought he had dreamed the whole thing; the feeling of your body pressing against his, the subtle, sweet scent of your perfume, the whole moment was permanently burned into his memory. Those three simple words fell so easily from his lips, now he would have to follow through on his confession. “I meant it, you know.” You’re unable to stop the smile that slowly spreads across your lips. You roll over to face him, your heart racing at the stunningly chaotic scene before you. His hair stuck up every which way, the fading remnants of tired circles under his eyes slowly disappearing as he became more awake, the stubble on his face noticeably darker than it had been yesterday. His expression softens, nerves being replaced with adoration as he studies you. He reaches out, hesitating for a moment before his hand comes to rest on your cheek. “I want to wake up like this every morning with you and only you.” Your breath hitches in your throat, the seriousness of his tone unmistakeable. “You told me you don’t think you’re anything special, Mein Herz, that couldn’t be further from the truth. You’re all I can think about from the moment I wake up in the morning until I fall asleep at night. There’s nothing I want more than to make you all mine, but every time I try to get close you always just end up slipping through my fingers.”
“Falk, I…” You trail off. You wanted to be with him more than anything, but there was still part of you that feared all of the unknowns.
“There you go again, second guessing yourself.” He points out with a teasing smile. His thumb trails along your jaw, his golden brown eyes slowly tracing over your features before landing on your lips. He states your name softly, his warm breath bouncing off your skin. “I am absolutely crazy about you… I just need to know how I can prove that.” He swallows, his arm wrapping around your waist to pull you closer to him. His attention turns to the clock on your nightstand, seeing it was still incredibly early he shoots you an excited grin. “Come on.” He hurries you out of bed, helping you shrug into one of his jackets. You clumsily step into a pair of way too big boots by the door. Falk opens the door, taking your hand as you step out onto the porch behind him.
“Wow.” Was the only thing you could manage to say. The sun burned gold as it clawed its way over the mountain peaks in the distance, the rays of early morning sun warm on your skin. You turn to Falk to find him already staring down at you. “It’s beautiful.”
“This is the closest thing I’ve been able to compare to your smile.” He whispers. Your eyes widen, heart racing at such a simple, genuine confession. “And it still doesn’t even begin to come close to how absolutely stunning I find you.” A warm hand slides over your cheek, you can’t help but lean into his touch. He says your name in that perfect way only he can say it, “I’m in love with you, I don’t want to spend any more time running away from that.” He carefully tilts your chin upwards, your eyes fluttering shut as his lips slot against yours. His fingers slide into your hair, his free arm wrapping around your waist to pull your body flush against his. You felt weightless, like your body was floating on a cloud. Electricity buzzed from the top of your head to the tips of your fingers. Your heart was beating so quickly there was no way he couldn’t hear it, your pulse blocking out any other sound around you. You separate from the kiss breathlessly, getting lost in his eyes the moment they meet.
“How would you feel about staying the rest of the weekend here, with me?” He asks hesitantly, a hopeful glimmer in his eyes.
“You want to stay?” You can’t keep the excited smile off your face at the thought of being able to continue your peaceful existence in the woods for the next couple days.
“Only if that’s alright with you.” He gently cradles your face in his hand, languidly trailing his thumb over your cheek.
Your eyes flash down to his lips momentarily, making him chuckle. “Well, if you keep kissing me like that, I’m sure you won’t have any issue convincing me.” You squeal as he pulls you back to him, his lips crushing against yours in another mind numbing kiss. Excited to spend the rest of the weekend getting to hold you tightly in his arms.

You felt Falk's chest rumble as he chuckled, his hand kneading your inner thigh as you squirmed in his lap. "What's wrong Maus?" Roel purrs, tilting your chin up to force you to look at him. "You seemed so confident when you were getting the two of us worked up earlier. Where'd our feisty Maüschen go, hm?" His usually bright blue eyes now dark with lust. You couldn't think well enough to respond, the feeling of Falk's large hands roaming your body and Roel's intense gaze already had your brain turning to mush as heat pooled in your core. You attempted to squeeze your legs together, any friction against your already throbbing cunt would definitely be welcomed. However, the two men that currently had you trapped between them had other plans for you. The moment you went to move Falk dug his fingers into your flesh, pulling your legs apart, your short sundress riding farther up your legs.
"How cute," Falk says with a smug grin, "neither of us have even touched you yet and you're already so worked up." He nuzzles his face into the side of your neck, placing soft kisses along your warm skin. Roel lets out a deep chuckle as his eyes rake over your small form. From your position seated in Falk's lap your toes barely skimmed the floor, your wide, bright eyes scanned his face as you tried to guess what exactly the two of them had planned for you. You struggled to hold back a small mewl as Falk's fingers grazed your soaked panties. Roel leaned against the desk, beckoning you with a single curl of his finger. You stand, your legs noticeably weak as you hesitantly shuffled forward. You had expected your constant teasing to rile them up. You had expected to get punished for your actions. But you thought the punishment would be a bit more standard; a long edging session with Falk that would last until you were a drooling mess, babbling incoherent nonsense and begging him to finally let you cum. Or, perhaps, being bent over the edge of Roel's desk, the shape of his hand forming a perfect red flush to your skin as you cried out with each sharp slap. What you hadn't expected? For both of them to find you at once, both of them ready to make you atone for your actions.
You now stood in front of him, hands folded neatly behind your back. "Now, what to do with you?" Heavy footfalls thundered in your ears as Roel slowly circled you. "Surely you didn't think you were going to win your little game?" He asks, you could hear the smile in his voice. You shuddered at the feeling of his hot breath against your neck
"No Father." You almost winced at the sound of your voice trembling. Roel breathes out a laugh, you could hear the leather office chair squeaking as Falk shifted in his seat, watching the two of you intently.
"So our Maus wanted to be caught, hm?" You froze, unsure if being honest was the best move in this situation. Falk stands with a soft groan, your eyes dart towards the floor as he steps in front of you. He kneels down, you catch him smiling out of the corner of your eye.
"Sweetheart." His voice was gentle as he spoke to you. "You look nervous." Your eyes slowly shifted to him, he was studying you carefully. "Can I have a color?"
"Yellow." You stutter. Falk takes your hands in his as Roel's strong arms wrapped around you from behind.
"There's no need to be nervous baby, you're not in trouble." The tension you hadn't realized you were holding in your shoulders melted away at his reassurance. "We'd just like to… return the favor for how worked up you've gotten us." He chuckles, squeezing you in a hug and causing you to giggle. You let out a slow, shaky breath as you finally met Falk's eyes.
"Color?" He asks you once more.
"Green." His eyes flash to Roel, a devious smirk spreading across his lips. The feeling of Roel's lips on your neck caused goosebumps to erupt across your skin, his fingers slid underneath the thin straps of your dress, slowly sliding them off your shoulders. You couldn't stop the shrill yelp that left you as he nipped at your exposed skin. Falk slid closer to you, his warm hands sliding up your legs as he carefully pushed your sundress up your body, pulling it over your head before capturing your lips in a passionate kiss, Roel wasting no time letting his hands wander your bare torso as he sucked a trail of dark marks anywhere he could possibly reach. Falk's fingers hooked into the waistband of your panties, pulling down the soft lace as he returned to his position before you on his knees. His hands wrapped around your thighs, fingers digging into your supple skin as he pushed your legs apart. Roel wrapped an arm securely around your middle, gently tilting your face in his direction so his lips could find yours. You let out a soft hum, eyes fluttering shut as you allowed yourself to melt into him. That soft hum quickly turned into a loud moan as Falk dragged his tongue along your entrance, allowing himself to finally taste you. Roel's fingers threaded into your hair, allowing him to direct your gaze exactly where he wanted it to be. Your eyes met Falk's, his pupils blown as he stared hungrily back into your eyes. Your head lulled into Roel's hand, your legs beginning to shake as Falk took his time slowly rolling his tongue over your clit. Roel tugged at your hair, his growing erection pressing firmly into your back as he grinds his hips against you. In doing so only pushed you more firmly against Falk's mouth, causing you to cry out as he hummed against you, the vibrations sending a delightful shiver through your whole body. He detached himself from your clit with a small pop, your arousal coating the lower half of his face.
He places a soft kiss to your thigh before nuzzling his face into your skin. "Just as sweet as ever meine Maus." He praises with a small smirk. "But you've barely given poor Roel any attention, darling." He slowly stands, both men towering over you as they decide what to do with you.
"Surely you're not done with her." Roel chuckles as he reaches his finger along your jawline. "I know you like to usually go down on her for hours." You blushed at his statement. You knew your partners talked about their time alone with you, usually exchanging knowledge about what turned you on, how you liked to be touched, they were committed to helping you experience as much pleasure as possible. The only difference was they had never been so direct about it while you were in the room.
"Oh, absolutely not." He responds with a laugh. His hands land on your waist, the playful expression in his eyes making you curious about what he was about to suggest. "I just think our Engel deserves a nice place to sit while she gives you some attention." He raises an eyebrow at you, his fingers ghosting over your exposed skin. He takes your hand in his, gently tugging you in the direction of the couch in the room. He sat down before fully reclining into the plush leather cushions. You swallowed thickly, watching the smile spread across his face as he drank in the image of your curves.
"Falk, I-" He cut you off before your worries even had a chance to take over.
"Maus," his voice was gentle yet still held an underlying tone of command. "I want you to sit on my face." Falk smiled brightly as you stepped towards him. He knew you were always worried about hurting him, but that worry always faded away as he turned you into a screaming mess above him. You straddled him, sitting back on his chest for a moment as he wrapped his strong arms around your thighs.
"Are you sure about this?" You ask him one last time.
"My darling girl," he says in a slow, sensual voice, "I want to drown in you." Your whole body felt like it was on fire, his words only causing you to become more needy and desperate for both of their touch. You lowered yourself onto him, your body immediately jolting as he lapped at your folds. You slid your fingers through his soft hair, using it as leverage as your hips began to move on their own against his skilled tongue. Roel saunters over to you, grabbing your face roughly in his hand.
"My, my, what a pretty sight you are." He smirks at your blissful expression. You tried your best to hold back the lewd sounds that Falk was effortlessly pulling from you, but it was no use. He gives your cheeks one final squeeze before releasing you. "Eyes on Falk, Hase." You immediately follow his orders, your eyes landing on the man below you. Falk watched your expression carefully, squeezing your thighs tenderly and reveling in the feeling of your skin squishing between his fingers as he let out a soft groan. He looked lost in a state of euphoria, absolutely drunk off your arousal that he greedily lapped up. You let out a shrill whine as you felt your climax steadily approaching, Falk's grip on you tightened, pinning you in place as his tongue swirled over the sensitive bundle of nerves that was threatening to break you. You heard the soft clinking of Roel unfastening his belt, quickly discarding the clothing on the floor. He lets out a relieved sigh as he finally frees himself from the tight fabric of his pants, slowly pumping his cock in his hand as he watches Falk pleasure you. "Hase, why don't you give him a chance to get undressed." Roel says with a soft smile. Falk allows himself one final taste before releasing his grip on you. You couldn't move at first, your legs trembling too much from the unintentional edging. You slowly separate yourself from him, Roel's arm sliding around your waist as he noticed your legs about to give out. Falk sat up before you gingerly sat down on the cushions.
"You did so good, sweetheart." He says softly before capturing your lips with his. You moaned against his mouth as your juices mixed with the sweet taste of Falk's lips. Despite the kiss being short it still managed to take your breath away. Falk stood, carefully undoing the buttons of his shirt. You were a bit ashamed to say you had to stop yourself from drooling as you watched his nimble fingers work. The thought was instantly pushed from your mind as Roel grabbed you behind your knees, yanking you forward and tossing your legs over his shoulders. He didn't even give you a second to think about what he could possibly be doing before he dove in to get a taste of you, something he desperately wanted since this whole ordeal had started. He rumbled out a groan, his nose brushing over your clit as he allowed his tongue to dip into your entrance. Your back arches off of the sofa as you cry out, your thighs clenching around him instinctually. You could feel Roel smirk. He pulled back from you for just a moment to tease your entrance with his fingers.
"How are you feeling, Hase?" He purrs as he slowly slides his digits inside you. You let out a soft mewl, rolling your hips against his fingers.
"So good." You stutter. He chuckles before his lips return to giving your clit some much welcomed attention. Soft moans fell from your lips as you felt your walls stretch around him with every slow, languid pump. Falk slides an arm behind your back, assisting you to a seated position as he allows himself to slip partially behind you. Your back rested against his chest, your hand tightly gripping his leg. as you tried to keep hold of reality.
"You look so beautiful, Maus." Falk whispers in your ear, his hot breath sending a shiver down your spine. His teeth graze the skin of your neck as he smirks, your hand trailing up his leg until your fingers wrapped around the base of his cock. You gave him a few tentative pumps, his thick member hot in your hand. He shudders out a breath at the feeling. "So good to me Engel." He places soft kisses to the side of your face. You can't help but whine as he cups your breasts in his large hands, expertly massaging them in a way he knew would cause your mind to go numb. His thumbs graze over your nipples causing you to jolt at his touch. Falk lets out a soft hum as he repeats the action a few times, loving the cute gasps and moans that fell from your lips. You started to slowly work him over in your hand, trying to match your strokes in time with Roel's fingers. Falk moans as you swipe your thumb over the sensitive head of his length, nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck. Your hips bucked as Falk rolled your nipples between his long, slender fingers, causing Roel's fingers to hit a spot inside you that had you seeing stars. The vibrations of Roel chuckling against you caused you to gasp, his movements picking up speed, reaching a relentless pace as they slipped in and out of you.
"Roel," you whine his name, "please, 's too much." Your words slurred as you tried to talk. Your mind foggy with the building pleasure coursing through your body. Just as the winding coil in your core felt like it was about to snap, Roel pulled away causing you to let out a pathetic whimper as your nearing climax rapidly dissipated.
"Not yet, Hase." His deep voice rumbles, you squirm in his grasp. Falk chuckles, pinching your nipples between his fingers, your quiet, breathy moan only making the two men hungrier to pull more sweet sounds from you. You lull into the warm touch of Falk's hand as it finds its way to your cheek. "Are you still doing alright, sweetheart?" Roel asks gently, massaging your tired muscles for a moment as you let your thoughts clear. You give him a sleepy nod, your whole body already feeling heavy. You let out a soft hum at the feeling of Falk's thumb languidly rubbing across your cheek. Your gaze slowly drifts over to him, warm brown eyes staring back at you with a loving expression. Roel gives your thigh one final squeeze before he stands up, getting to work on discarding the rest of his clothes. You sit up, your skin peeling off the leather. You carefully lower yourself to the floor, resting on your knees in front of Falk as you look up at him with wide, innocent eyes.
Falk chuckles, knowing exactly what that looks meant. "What's the matter, Mäuschen?" He leans forward, taking your chin between his fingers. "Do you want a turn?" You nod eagerly. Roel sits beside Falk with a groan, you knelt situated between the both of them. "I don't know about that darling. Do you think you can take care of both of us at once?" He quirked an eyebrow at you, a smug expression quickly spreading across his face. Your cheeks flushed at his question, your mouth opening to speak but no words coming out.
"Come on Falk, give our girl some credit." Roel nods down at you with a smile. "I'm sure you can figure something out, can't you sweetheart?" You nod hesitantly, shuffling closer to both of them. You lean over Roel's lap, taking his cock in your hand, causing him to hiss at the long awaited contact. You ran your tongue over the head of his erection, the salty taste of his precum mixing with your saliva. Roel's fingers tangled in your hair, a low groan rumbling in his chest as you wrapped your lips around him. You slowly eased yourself lower, relishing every sinful sound that you coaxed out of him, feeling the stretch in your jaw as you took in as much of his as you could. Falk's fingers wrapped around your wrist, guiding your hand to his member. His hand engulfed yours, helping to set the speed for how he wanted to be touched.
"Sheiße." He curses under his breath, letting his head fall back against the couch. You hollow your cheeks, bobbing your head in tandem with the speed of your strokes. Your eyes snapped up to meet Roel's as he tugged at your hair. His jaw slack with pleasure as the absolutely obscene sounds of both your partners filled the rooms. You hummed around him, sinking as low as your throat would allow. Roel let out a sound that feel somewhere between a moan and a growl as he struggled to stop himself from fucking your face. The feeling of the tip of his cock knocking against the back of your throat driving him absolutely crazy. His thighs shook, you couldn't help but smirk as you realized how close you were getting him to his climax. You decided to risk having some fun of your own. You pulled off of Roel with a loud pop, your hand taking over at a slower pace. You shifted your attention to Falk, his intense gaze trained on you as he waited to see what you would do next.
Before you had a chance to start working on your other partner, Roel spoke up. "Hase," his deep voice rumbles, "why don't you lay across my lap so I can use your thighs." He smirks down at you causing you to giggle. Roel loved to fuck your thighs. He loved to watch as your soft, pillowy skin swallowed his cock, he had never seen something more beautiful. You stand, leaning in to place a soft kiss to his lips before laying yourself over his lap. Roel groans, his hardness sliding easily between your clenched legs. You let out a high pitched yelp that quickly faded into flustered giggles as Roel's hand connected with your ass, the sharp sting quickly fading away as he tenderly rubbed the spot he hit. His eyes rake over you, admiring every angle and curve of your gorgeous frame. Falk's fingers trail up your neck, causing you to shiver. You can't help but smile at the sound of Roel's breath hitching, slowly starting to roll his hips from underneath you. Falk's lips ghost over yours, wordlessly commanding your attention from his place seated beside you. He swipes his thumb over the head of his cock, holding it steady so you can lower your mouth onto him. He lets out a breathy moan as he feels your tongue glide down his length. Roel delivers another sharp slap to your skin, a soft moan tumbling from your lips as you lower yourself into your elbows. As Roel's pace increased, so did yours, Falk's fingertips digging into your shoulder as he hissed through clenched teeth.
"Feels so good, Maus." Falk groans, you feel his hard length twitch in your mouth. His fingers slide up your shoulder, over your neck and into your hair. He gently tugs at your strands, easing you off him as he pants beneath you. He pushes you closer to him, causing you to lose your balance propped up in your elbows, stumbling into his lap. He kisses you hard, leaning back so he can pull you on top of him. Your actions had ignited a primal ferocity inside him, you could tell from the look in his eyes that he couldn't wait any longer to have you. His hands grab hungrily at your ass, harshly squeezing your tender flesh as he drags your soaked cunt back and forth over his member. One hand trails up your body, coming to rest on your throat. His eyes glowed golden brown as he gazed up at you, "I'm going to ruin you, Mäuschen." He growls seductively. You bite your lip in an attempt to hide your smirk, rolling your hips over his length, causing him to let out a strangled moan. You hear Roel digging through a drawer behind him, his large hand ghosting over your body as he materializes behind you once more. You gasp as you feel two lubed fingers begin to ease themselves into your ass. Roel gently rocks his digits inside of you, the gradually increasing stretch causing your forehead to fall to rest against Falk's chest. Roel holds your hips steady allowing Falk to line himself up with your entrance, he moans at the feeling of your slick, velvety walls stretching perfectly around him. You whine as Roel adds a third finger to prep you further, the slight discomfort melting away with every slow thrust from Falk, making sure you felt every inch of him as he pulled all the way out to the tip only to ease all the way back into you. Roel takes a condom wrapper between his teeth, ripping it open and rolling in the contents.
Roel places a kiss between your shoulder blades as he cautiously pushes inside of you. You grip tightly onto Falk's shoulders as he rubs a warm hand across your back. You let out a shuddering breath as Roel's hips meet your ass, feeling light headed at the sensation of both men filling you so completely. "Are you doing okay, lovely?" Roel whispers, placing a soft kiss to the side of your face. You manage to nod, a strangled cry ripping free from your throat as you shift slightly. Falk gently tilts your chin up, kissing you softly. Roel leaned down, trailing his lips up your neck. After a moment you gave them the okay to start moving. As they gradually picked up their pace, moans fell from your lips like a prayer. Roel grabbed roughly into your hips, fingers digging into you hard enough that you knew he would leave bruises behind. Falk softly spoke constant praise, you melted at the sound of his voice. His thumb runs over your bottom lip, sharp eyes watching you intently as you lose yourself to the both of them. He cradles you to his chest, one of his hands snaking between your legs to rub slow circles on your clit.
You choke out pathetic moans as the assault on your senses quickly brings on the threat of your climax. "Falk, I can't." You whimper, he smirks up at your pathetic state.
He softly hushes you, "we've got you Engel." You sob into his chest as your orgasm splits through you, your body feeling white hot as pleasure courses through every nerve in your body. More words of praise cause you to shudder as the aftershock rumbles through you. The coil in your stomach was already winding tighter as neither man slowed their pace. Your whole body was shaking, you tried to squirm away from them but Roel held you firmly in place. Your moans grew louder and more fervent. Falk groaned, his thrusts quickly becoming sloppier and more desperate as he chased his own high. He grabs your face, crashing his lips against yours, hips rolling as deep into you as possible as his cock kicked inside of you. You moan against his mouth as he fucked into you through his climax. His hips stutter, his panting form shuddered underneath you. He slides out of you with a hiss, fingers still languidly rubbing your clit. Roel eased himself out of you, causing you to whine at the sudden emptiness. He hurriedly discards the condom before sliding into your overstimulated cunt without warning. You scream, burying your face into Falk's chest. He chuckles, quickening the lace he had set with his fingers. "Come on sweetheart, you've got one more in you "
You felt like you were close to tears, teetering at the edge of your second orgasm, Roel's hard thrusts pushing you closer each time. Your legs were starting to give out, they shook as they began to fall out from underneath you. Roel's arm latched around your waist, holding you up where he wanted you. Roel buried himself as deep inside of you as he could as he finished. A mixture of him and Falk leaking out of you as he pulled out. You collapsed as he let you go, Falk holding you close. He carded his fingers through your hair, Roel gathering what was needed to get all of you cleaned up. Falk carefully sits you up, placing a soft kiss to your forehead. Roel returns with some warm washcloths, both of them helping to clean you up before carrying you to bed. You lay sandwiched between them, Roel massaged your shoulder from his position behind you, Falk had his arm lazily wrapped around your waist as he hummed to your tired form. "I love you, both of you." You squeak out through a yawn.
"I love you Maus." Falk says as he pressed a kiss to your forehead.
"And I you, Hase." Roel whispers with a kiss to your neck. Tangled in a mess of limbs the three of you simultaneously drifted off.

“Thank you.” You smile brightly at the waitress as she sets your espresso down in front of you. Falk had taken you to the coziest little cafe you had ever seen. You sat out on the patio at white metal tables, each decorated with a small blue vase with yellow flowers in the middle. The food had been wonderful, the company you found yourself in even better. As the waitress walks away Falk reaches across the table taking your hand in his.
“I’ll make sure to take you out somewhere fancier the next time.” He winks at you.
“I think this was the perfect place to go.” You smile, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. “I'm happy I get to spend time with you, to learn more about you, we could be eating greasy burgers in some random parking lot right now.” The two of you share a chuckle.
“I guess I just want to impress you.” He admits bashfully. “I was honestly shocked that you even agreed to come to lunch with me and now we’re even calling this a date… I just feel really under prepared.” He smiles softly, his thumb languidly running over your soft skin.
“You've already done more than enough to impress me.” You giggle, his eyes snap up to look at you, a slightly shocked expression painting his features. “Falk you're an incredible man, I've known that from the start. Over the years that's only become more obvious. You're kind, patient, passionate about what you do, you care so deeply for the people around you… you're also incredibly handsome.” Your cheeks warm, your gaze drifting to the table as you grow flustered from complimenting him.
“Thank you Maus. I'm sure it's no secret that I think you're beautiful… I still just can't seem to wrap my head around the fact that someone so bright and full of life would want to spend their time with, well, me.” He states quietly.
“You're acting like you're a thousand years old.” You giggle.
“I'm still older than you by quite a bit.”
“And that doesn't bother me in the slightest.” His mouth snaps shut at your adamant statement. “I want to be with someone who makes me happy, who's going to be there to help me back up when I stumble, someone who I can see spending the rest of my life with. I don't see why something as silly as age has to be a factor in that.” He breathes out a laugh, a smile slowly creeping across his lips as he nods in response.
“I agree.” He states simply. “But, if you feel like we’re moving too fast you have to tell me. I'm not trying to pressure you into anything.”
“You're the last person I would expect that from.” After that the rest of your time at the cafe dissolved into much less serious conversations. Your feelings being relatively somewhat out in the open made it a lot easier to get to know Falk outside of the holds of work formality. “You know, you still haven't told me what you planned for the rest of the day.” You remark with a teasing smile.
“I would like to offer you a proposition.” He smirks. “We can go with my original plan, which I'm still keeping a surprise. Or, we can head back to the Abbey and enjoy a nice relaxing evening in my quarters continuing this.” He motions in between the two of you.
“I hate making decisions.” You groan, making Falk chuckle in response.
“If you want my opinion on the matter, what I originally had planned might be better for a different day.” He offers some support.
“Relaxing day at home it is.” You giggle. “It’ll give me a chance to change into something comfier.”
“I have some clothes you could borrow… only if you want to.” He rushes to add onto his statement, worried that asking you to get undressed at his quarters might come off the wrong way. “I just figured you wouldn't have to walk all the way to your dorm and all the way across the Abbey to get to my-”
“Falk.” You chuckle, squeezing his hand and snapping him from his rant before he had a chance to get started. “If you don't mind, I think that sounds nice.” He paid for your meals, both of you giddy and somewhat nervous about spending the rest of the afternoon together so casually. The moment you were back at the Abbey and out of the car Falk's hand effortlessly slipped into yours, guiding you through the halls as you talked about whatever came to mind. You stood at his side as he pulled his keys from his pocket. You glanced up at the sound of footsteps, glancing down the hallway only to see Roel, reading through one of the papers in the pile he held, as he slowly ambled in your direction. He glances up slowly, more than likely to check to see if anyone was in his path. His steps paused immediately when his eyes landed on you, Falk completely oblivious to the silent stare off you were having. Roel looked between the two of you, catching sight of Falk fumbling with his keys. His eyes widen before they snap back up to you. Your expression was clearly telling him one single word. Leave. He quickly turns on his heels and hurries off down the hallway just as Falk happened to look in his direction. Your shoulders relaxed as you heard the heavy key finally slot itself into the lock with a loud thunk.
“Sorry if it's a little messy, I wasn't expecting guests.” He chuckles before stepping inside. One thing you always remarked whenever you visited Falk’s quarters was just how comfortable the space was. The main sitting room was decorated with a plus couch, a matching love seat, and two recliners that were positioned in a semi circle in front of his hearth. In front of them a dark mahogany coffee table, a few candles sat in the middle, a relatively large unopened pile of letters on one side that you were beginning to realize represented the mess Falk was talking about. Sun catchers of various colors, sizes, and designs filled the windows, the stained glass making a kaleidoscope of rainbow beams that jutted across the room. “I’ll get some tea started, the dresser next to my bed has all of my lounge clothes in it. Feel free to pick out what you want.” You nod before scampering off to the bedroom, not wanting to make him wait too long. It was easy enough to find exactly what you were looking for, you decided on a faded black T-shirt with a band name you didn't recognize and a pair of gray, plaid fleece pajama pants. You had to roll the pants at the waist, Falk’s monstrous height making them entirely too long for you. You pulled the shirt over your head, the soft fabric clinging to your hips as it accentuates your curves. You fixed your hair as you gave yourself one last look over in the mirror. You softly padded into the kitchen, smiling as you heard Falk humming to himself as he filled the kettle up at the sink. He turns to you when he realizes you had entered the room.
“I hope these are alright, I can always go out then ba-”
“You look incredible.” The words die in your throat at his compliment. He takes a few slow steps closer to you, tentatively resting his hands on your waist. “I'm glad that old shirt still has a use,” he chuckles, “you look very cute in it.”
“Thank you.” You stutter in response, placing your hands on top of his when you couldn't figure out what to do with them. “Are you going to join me or are you planning on staying in slacks and a button down all day?” You ask in a teasing tone. He smirks down at you, giving your waist a gentle squeeze.
“If you wanted to see me strip you should have just asked.” He winks, chuckling as you grow flustered. “Make yourself comfortable, I'll be right back.”
You sit down on the couch, looking around at all the pictures, books, and other various knick knacks that littered the room with a fond smile. You nervously fidgeted with your fingers as you couldn't help but glance at the pile of letters on the table. There had to be at least 20 letters all sent in the same cream colored envelope, it was addressed to Falk in neat script written in a deep red fountain pen. You squinted slightly, trying to see who had sent it. You could just barely make out a name, Alaric Schlegel. Your eyes snapped up to see Falk exiting his bedroom, a black T-shirt stretched across his broad shoulders, a matching pair of sweatpants hanging comfortably from his hips. A smile passes over his lips seeing your guilty expression. He knew what you had been doing without even having to ask. “I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been snooping.”
“You weren't Maus, don't worry.” He chuckles, collapsing into the cushions at your side with a soft groan. “If it was anything important they would've been put away.”
“Are they from your dad?” You couldn't stop the question from bubbling past your lips. Falk nods, picking up one of the letters in his hand before fidgeting with the edge of it.
“They are, I have some things that I need to take care of eventually… but I’ll tell you all about that when the time comes.” His golden brown eyes glimmered in the low light as he shoots you a bashful, yet excited look. He could see the curious expression on your face as you studied the letter in his hand. Due to the fact that all of the High Clergy rarely ever talked about their families openly he could only imagine the questions you would have. “I don't bite you know,” he chuckles, “if you want to ask me something you can.”
“I just don't want to pry.” You respond.
“It's not like you won't learn about it eventually.” He chuckles.
“Does he do what you do? Your dad?” You ask softly.
“He used to, he had a Parish of his own until he retired and moved to the mountains with my mom.” He explains. “I'm sure you saw, but his name is Alaric, my mother's name is Charlotte.” He scans around the room, making a small sound of approval before he darts up from the couch. He pulls a photo out of the chaotic mix of pictures that filled the small mantel above the fireplace. “This is them.” He hands it over to you, taking his place at your side once again, his arm resting comfortably across your shoulders. You're met with the sight of a slightly younger Falk, his expression drawn and stoic, his body half hidden behind the chair his father sat in. Your brows furrowed slightly as your eyes drifted to the next member in the photo.
“You really look like your mom, huh?” You remark, looking up at him with a warm smile. The woman that stood beside him was tall, slender, an almost effortless elegance to her presence. Her mousy brown hair swept up in an intricate up-do, a few pieces falling out to frame her face. Falk shared her nose, long and slender with a slight hook at the end. Her blue eyes sparkle like sapphires against her pale complexion, despite her lack of smile for the photograph she still radiated warmth. “She’s beautiful.” You remark in awe, causing him to chuckle.
“I'm sure she’ll be flattered, I feel like the two of you would get along really well.” He smiles in response. Falk’s father was at the center of the photo. A burly, barrel chested man with broad shoulders and a thick, dark beard. He looked like the physical embodiment of a bear. His hair swept back, his features held an almost bored expression as he sat tall in his seat. The brass wolf ring on his pointer finger glinted slightly in the light.
“If you don't mind me asking, why wasn't your sister in this picture?” You hand the small object back to him, allowing him to put it back in its proper place.
“She refused to have anything to do with my father’s Parish after she found out that I was going to be the one training under him and not her.” He explains bluntly. “If the time comes for… the festivities of us tying the knot.” He clears his throat, you couldn't miss the way his cheeks flushed slightly at the mention of marrying you. “She’ll show up, I am her brother after all, but she's definitely not going to be happy about it.” You swallowed thickly, your hands growing clammy at the thought of having to deal with somebody who sounded so intensely negative.
“I'm sure she won't be that bad.” You attempted to reassure both of you, but you weren't even sure if you believed yourself.
“Well, we won't need to cross that bridge for a while anyhow.” He smiles warmly at you,making your heart thrum in your chest.
“Yeah, you do have a point.” You giggle. His fingers trail over your cheek, brushing away some hair that had fallen into your face.
“We’ve got all the time in the world Maus, and I plan to enjoy every second of it.” You wanted to melt under his gaze. The gentle smile that adorned his lips as he studied your features caused you to grow flustered. Golden brown irises met yours before they dropped to your lips, quick enough that you almost missed it. You both jumped slightly as the kettle started to sing in the kitchen. “I'll go get that.” He chuckles awkwardly before pushing himself off the couch. He comes back a few moments later with two mugs of tea, yours prepared exactly how he knew you liked it. The two of you sat and talked for a while, growing more comfortable in each other's presence with every passing second. Your eyes darted in the direction of the door when there was a sudden knock outside. Falk glances up at the clock before cursing under his breath. Before he had a chance to answer it the door swung open, Attila trudging into the room.
“I think we’re going to need something a little stronger than tea after the day I've had, my friend.” A heavy glass bottle thuds loudly on the table as he sets it down. He opened his mouth to speak again, freezing when he noticed your small form tucked into Falk’s side. He states your name curiously, your eyes wide due to the fact you didn't know how to respond at the moment.
“This is why you should knock.” Falk jokes before turning his attention back to you. “I'm sorry Maus, I forgot what day it was.”
“We can always reschedule.” Attila suggests.
“No!” You exclaim, hurriedly standing up before Falk had a chance to protest. “If you already had plans, I'll go, I wouldn't want to be-”
“Sit down.” Attila waves you off. “Do you know how to play poker?”
“I'm sorry, sir?”
“Do you know how to play poker?” He asks again with more gustow on the second go around. You shake your head hesitantly, your brows furrowing together as you try to figure out just what the hell was going on here. “I'm sure Falk wouldn't mind teaching you.” He chuckles. You glanced to the side to see Falk wearing a similarly confused expression. “What?”
“You just… you don't seem too confused by the fact that I'm here.”
The words barely had time to escape you before Attila spoke up. “Does this mean he finally asked you out on that date?” Your eyes widen, your cheeks flushing the instant the question flew forward.
“I did, we went to lunch at that cafe…” Falk snaps his fingers as he tries to remember the name, both of them shouting it out in unison as it came to them.
“Well, it's about damn time.” Attila chuckles. “I swear, if I had to listen to you spout the same nonsense about how she was going to think you're gross because you're so old-” he's cut off by the sound of you giggling, a smile quickly stretching across his face at Falk’s annoyed eye roll. “It's true, but I can assume today went pretty well.”
“I guess you could say that.” You smile playfully at Falk, nudging his shoulder.
“Well, as long as you don't mind hanging out with a bunch of old men playing cards, you're more than welcome to stay.” He jokes in response.
“Do you want to stay?” Falk asks softly, making sure his voice was only loud enough for the two of you to hear.
“If you wouldn't mind,” he swallows thickly as your hand slips into his. “I'd hate to cut my time with you short.” He breathes out a laugh, a soft smile spreading across his features. Attila approaches the couch, two crystal glasses swirled with amber liquid.
“Do you drink?” He asks you.
“Sometimes.” He offers you the glass. It's cold against your lips, the dark liquid bitter as you timidly sip it. Your face scrunches up reflexively, causing Attila to chuckle.
“It's not for everyone.” Falk takes your glass from your hand, dumping the contents into his own so fluidly it took you a moment to process what would happen.
“I have some wine in the fridge, I'll grab you a glass.” His warm breath bouncing off your cheek as he whispered to you sent a shiver down your spine. You watch him stride into the kitchen, nervously rubbing the soft fabric of the pants you were wearing in between your fingers. Attila sits in the chair closest to the hearth, stretching his legs out with a groan as he basqued in the fire's warmth.
“I'm glad he finally said something to you, all of us were worried he was never going to ask you on a date at the rate he was going.” He chuckles, you jump slightly as he snaps you from your thoughts.
“I’m glad he did too.” You giggle in response. “I was in a similar boat, I guess him and I were just waltzing around the inevitable.”
“I'm just glad you both seem happy, the two of you have been nothing but smiles since I showed up.” You can't help the bashful grin that crosses your lips as you let your gaze drop to your lap.
“It's hard not to be happy when I'm with him.”
“I only have white wine, I hope that's okay.” Falk beams at you as he reenters the living room. You thank him as he slips the glass into your hand. The three of you grew silent as you heard Matthew’s voice boom in the hall, laughing loudly at something the other voice, who you quickly realized was Charles, had said. The pair pushed into Falk's quarters, arms filled with snacks, each of them carrying a case of beer at their side.
“Well, well, well.” You chuckled at Matthew’s greeting. “If it isn't little miss I-have-to-get-to-my-seat, I see that black dress caught some attention, hm?” He teases, making your cheeks warm. There was a sharp smack as Charles slaps him in the back of the head.
“Stop that.” He barks. “It's wonderful to see you again so soon.” He smiles at you.
“Same to you Father.” You respond with a polite nod.
“You don't need to keep being so formal.” Charles chuckles. “I'm sure you're not here for business.” You shake your head in response.
Roel was the last to arrive, a massive pizza perched on his shoulder, a plastic bag of energy drinks hanging in his free hand. He stops dead in his tracks when he sees you sitting at the center of the group. “Now just what the hell is going on here?”
“I'm replacing you.” You state bluntly making Attila chuckle.
“My own assistant,” he clutches his chest in lock pain, “I'm hurt.” You seemed to fall naturally into place amongst the rest of them.
Charles nods in your direction, “you want another?”
You glanced down at the empty bottle of beer in front of you. “Sure, why not, one more wouldn't hurt.” You were currently sitting in Falk’s lap, one of his arms loosely wrapped around your waist. His attention switched between your hand and his, helping you analyze your cards while you learned how to play the game. Matthew grabs another bottle from the pack, hooking his ring under the metal cap before cracking it off in one swift motion and handing it over to you.
Falk leans in and whispers in your ear. “Go all in.” He whispers. You lean forward, pushing your decently large pile of chips to the center of the table. Folding your hands neatly in your lap and smiling at the group of shocked expressions before you.
“Gentlemen.” You titter.
“I fold.” Roel pipes up.
“Me too.” Attila follows, throwing his cards down on the table.
“I fold.” Charles groans. Matthew curses under his breath before also tossing his cards into the middle of the table. “Falk?”
“Sorry Maus.” He chuckles before fanning his deck out nearly across the green velvet surface. “Unfortunately I can't pass up a royal flush.” He shrugs with a smirk.
You groan over dramatically. “You're the worst.” He laughs, giving your waist a soft squeeze.”
“Wait, what did you have?” Matthew asks, swatting at your hand as he tries to reach your cards.
“Me? Oh I had jack shit.” You laugh tossing your cards down to reveal that your hand was worth nothing.
“Attila, it looks like we found someone even you can't find a tell on.” Roel chuckles, Attila slaps his shoulder jokingly. “I should probably get heading out.” Roel groans as he stands, his eyes landing on you. “I'm sure you remember, but we have that meeting in the morning-”
“With the church across town, I know.” You smile. There were murmurs and grumbles throughout the group of the various reasons they also had to be on their way, each of them bidding you goodbye until you and Falk were left alone in the room. You began collecting the empty bottles off of the table, Falk’s gaze snapping in your direction at the sound of clinking glass.
“Honey, don't worry about that.” He tries to take the bottles from your hands only for you to pull them out of reach.
“I'm helping, that's final.” A flirtatious smile laces its way across your lips. “You work too hard as it is, I think I can help clean up after a poker game.” You wink. He sighs, shaking his head with a smile of his own as he realizes there's no use in arguing with you. He organizes all the chips back in their proper slots, packing them away, both of you softly managing to clear the clutter from the table. He covers the velvet, the heavy wooden slab back in place, returning the dining room table to its former glory. “I should also get going unfortunately, I have an early morning tomorrow.” You state softly, leaning up against the edge of the counter. Falk walks up to you, one hand landing on your waist, the other wrapping around the granite to cage you in close to him. You grew flustered under his warm gaze.
“I had a wonderful time with you today.” He states in a low tone.
“I did too.” You smile back at him.
“Can I walk you back to your dorm?” He asks with a soft smile, a hopeful glint in his eyes. You nod in response, letting your hand slip into his as you make your way out. You studied the way your hand fit into his. His long, slender fingers wrapped around your much smaller hand like vines. Your thumb stroked over his warm skin, your eyes trailing along the prominent veins that stood out along the back of his hand. “Did you have fun tonight?” You're snapped from your thoughts when he suddenly asks you a question.
“Yeah, I had a great time.” You grin up at him, leaning into his side slightly as you walk. The walk back to your room was much too short for your liking, your door already coming into view as you rounded the corner.
“After you get off work tomorrow, would you want to come to my quarters, I'd like to make you dinner.” He blurts out, as if he didn't get it out right then he would've lost the nerve to ask you.
“You want to make me dinner, hm?” You squeeze his hand. “I love a man who can cook.” You couldn't help but smile as you watched him flush. You paused in front of your door, your hand still comfortably resting in his.
“It's a date then?” He brings your knuckles to his lips, you nod, shooting him a flustered smile. “Goodnight Maus.” He whispers, his warm breath fanning over your skin, causing a shiver to run up your spine.
“Goodnight.” You respond in the same hushed tone. His hand gently cups your cheek, his thumb stroking your skin. His eyes drop down to your lips, he swallows thickly before his eyes drift back to yours. He smiles, the warmth of his hand still lingering on your cheek as it falls away.
“Until then, meine Maus.” He nods, giving you one final hushed goodbye before he leaves you standing outside your door alone in the darkened hall.

My Masterlist! ~ AO3 Link!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Good afternoon, Sister." You couldn't stop a smile from creeping across your lips at the familiar voice. Your pen paused, making a list of all the necessary preparations to decorate the Abbey for Halloween could wait.
"Father Falk, good afternoon. What can I help you with?" You ask with a bright smile, folding your hands neatly in front of you, leaning forward with excited curiosity.
"I-uh, I was wondering if you needed any help. The rest of my afternoon is free and I know how busy you must be. I figured I could lend a hand if you'd like." He offers you a soft, coy smile.
"I appreciate it, you'd be a great help, Father." The two of you held each other's gaze for a little longer than necessary before you breath out a nervous laugh, returning your attention to the list that sat before you. He leans against the desk, peering at the piece of paper.
He chuckles, "you really have this planned out to the letter, hm?" You can't help but laugh slightly in response.
"Well, as the Abbey's self proclaimed Halloween expert, and the fact I've been planning this party for the past few years, I have a pretty good handle on things." You finished listing the last few things you could think of. "We have three days for preparations, I've already sent the other Siblings off to handle their tasks, I'm fairly confident between you and I we can handle the rest." You look up at him with a smile.
"Well, where would you like to start?" He asks with a smile. That was how you found yourself comfortably seated in Falk's passenger seat, basking in the warm sunlight that streamed through the window. A soft tune hummed through the radio as your fingers danced through the air that whipped by outside. "So, explain to me again why we're driving across town when we have perfectly good pumpkins back at the Abbey." Falk says with a small laugh.
"Primo grows this one special for me. I don't know what he does differently, probably some special fertilizer he won't give me the recipe for, but he grows some of the largest pumpkins I've ever seen. Perfect for the display at the front entrance." The two of you rode in a comfortable silence. Every so often you would allow yourself to steal a glance in his direction. You had known Falk for years, having joined the ministry when he was still a Cardinal. He was your best friend and you his. He was the one that granted you the honor of being the Abbey's party coordinator after your predecessor had retired.
"Something on your mind, Maus?" He asks casually, briefly looking over at you out of the corner of his eyes, a small smirk finding its way across his lips.
"Not really, just thinking." You sat wistfully. Falk had been your best friend for years, yet you couldn't shake the feeling of wanting him to be something more than that. As you pulled into the parking lot you dug through your bag looking for the spare key Primo had given you to his garden. "I always lose this damn thing." You grumble as you root through your things, searching for the feeling of the smooth plastic charm that accompanied it. You jumped slightly as your door opened, Falk's figure blocking out the sunlight as he offered you his hand. You tentatively took it, warmth exploding across your palm as your skin made contact with his. As you stood your hand lingered in his. Your eyes met, beautiful golden brown irises that never ceased to take your breath away. He carefully brought your knuckles to his lips, smiling softly as he released you from his grasp.
"I don't think I've told you how beautiful you look today." His gaze never left your face, you couldn't help but laugh. Your hair haphazardly tucked away under a bandana, in your dirt covered work clothes, you looked like a recluse that had just wandered into town from the woods.
"You always pick the worst times to compliment me, you know that?" He returns your playful expression. He slips an arm around your shoulders, you wrap an arm around his waist, the two of you languidly strolling around the grounds of the Abbey to the garden.
"I mean it…" he says after a few minutes, "you do look beautiful… you always do, Maus." You let out a flustered giggle, gently nudging your shoulder into his side.
"Well, even though I would have to disagree at the moment, thank you." You accept his compliment with a bashful smile.
"My, my, what a sight for these old eyes." Primo chuckles as the two of you come into view. "I take it you're here for your pumpkin." He pulls you into a tight hug, his large sun hat providing you momentary shade in his embrace.
"Sorry I didn't call, I wanted to surprise you." He smiles, holding your face tenderly in his hands.
"Il mia bambina, you're welcome here anytime you like." He gently pats your cheek before removing his hands. "You as well Father, how have you been?" Falk returns the old man's greeting jovially, another small, trivial detail you had always loved about him. Primo had become somewhat of a father figure in your life. The fact that Falk held him in such high regard, watching the two of them get along so wonderfully, it made your heart swell.
"Papa, great to see you." Primo shakes his hand firmly, eyes trailing over him for a moment before turning his attention back to you.
"Has he asked you to marry him yet?" He asks in a low tone. You laugh, shaking your head.
"Papa, we're just friends." You manage to get out through a fit of giggles. He holds up his hands in defeat.
"I may be old but I'm not blind dolcezza, you two are in love, there's no way around it." He points between the both of you before deciding to take his leave. "Fetch one of my Ghouls when you decide which one you want, you'll need help getting it to the car." He places a kiss to the top of your head, giving you both a small wave as he departs.
"As eloquent as ever, hm?" Falk laughs.
"I am so sorry about him." You were mortified, Primo might as well have told him that you had already confessed your feelings for Falk.
"No need to apologize, Maus." He groans as he pretends to stretch, his arm finding its way to your shoulders again. "He's got a point. I have to marry you before someone else does."
"Maybe ask me out on a date before planning to marry me." You giggle, pushing into his side as you walk.
"Maybe I will." He returns your laughter, smiling down at you. You wander the winding paths of the garden, marveling at the vast array of beautiful plants and produce. Falk paused in his stride as he caught sight of the gourd you had come for. "You can't be serious." He manages out through a chuckle. "(Y/N), my sweet Maus, I don't think one of those would fit in my car." You wave off his statement.
"One of the Ghouls will bring it to us, they have a truck specifically for transporting these. I just need to pick out which one I want." You explain. Falk sticks close by your side as you wander through the patch of monstrous pumpkins. You point excitedly, "that one." You rush over to it. The pumpkin nearly reached your waist, it was so tall. Its stem gnarled and knotted as it curled back towards the earth, it was a vibrant orange in color, with barely any blemishes on it at all. It was the perfect pumpkin for your display. You helped Primo's Ghouls get it loaded up, leading them back across town so you could get started on your project for the rest of the day.
"You don't wear gloves?" Falk asks as you lay out your carving tools.
"Nope, they just get in the way." You cut a hole into the top of the behemoth before you. You looked at him with a devious grin, "ready for the fun part?" Falk leans forward, elbows resting on his knees as he gazed at you with a perplexed expression. "It's time to get all the guts out."
He breathes out a laugh, dropping his head. "This was why you were so eager for me to help, hm?" He stands with a sigh, carefully undoing the buttons of his dress shirt before tossing it aside leaving him in his undershirt. You swallowed thickly, eyes immediately drawn to the sleeve fabric stretched over his muscular arms. He cracked his knuckles, you were having trouble taking your eyes off him. You quickly dart your gaze away when he catches you staring. He chuckles softly before settling down by your side. He dropped his hand into the inside of the pumpkin, his nose scrunching up at the feeling of the guts sliding over his fingers. He pulls out the first handful, dropping it in the newspaper beside him with a loud splat, attempting to get off the remaining goop with one firm shake of his hand. "This is disgusting.'
You can't help but laugh, "I'll make it up to you, I promise." You feel his gaze trained on you. Looking up, your breath hitched in your throat as your eyes met his, realizing you were much closer to him than you thought.
"And how do you plan on doing that?" He smiles, his eyes drifting to your lips.
"I-" you stuttered out an incoherent string of sounds, unable to formulate any words at all to respond with. Falk chuckles at your flustered state, letting his eyes run over your features one more time before turning away.
"I'll give you some time to think about it, Maus." You forced your focus to the task before you. Manual labor was sure to clear your thoughts. It definitely wasn't easy work cleaning out the pumpkin to your standards, regardless, it needed to be done. After a little over an hour there was a single seed left inside. The two of you chatted idly as you got to work carving into the face. "It really is incredible watching you work." He muses, watching you carefully scrape away at the eye to get it exactly the shape you wanted it.
"I've had a lot of practice." You giggle.
"Maybe you could teach me your methods sometime." He smiles, you shoot him a coy glance.
"I'd love to." By the time you were finished with the massive jack o lantern you were ready to collapse. You groaned as Falk pulled you from the floor, he chuckled as you collapsed against him. He holds you close as the two of you stroll back to your room.
"What's on the agenda for tomorrow?" He asks. You hum as you think, carefully reaching up to intertwine your fingers with the hand currently resting on your shoulder.
"I have to find a costume." You start, noticing him immediately grow interested in the topic.
"Would you like me to accompany you into town?" He asks excitedly.
"I definitely wouldn't mind the company." You respond with a laugh. "But don't think you're going to get me in some sexy little nurse outfit."
"What about a sexy little devil outfit?" You playfully smack his shoulder causing him to let out a small 'ow' as he pretended to be hurt, wrapping his arm around you to rub the spot you smacked. You immediately felt your cheeks heat up, gazing up at Falk with wide, innocent eyes. A small smirk spreads across his lips as he carefully watches your expression. "Sorry." He apologizes simply. You shivered under his gaze, he reluctantly released his grasp on you, one arm still remaining over your shoulders.
"What are you going to dress up as?" He hums as he ponders over the thought for a moment. He opens his mouth to speak, taking a deep breath. "And don't say a priest." You cut him off just as his words were about to come out.
"Wow, you read my mind." He chuckles. "Well, what should I be if I can't dress up as a priest?"
"You could wear the sexy little devil costume." You suggest, he playfully rolls his eyes. "You have to dress up, it's mandatory."
"Oh yeah?" He starts with a smirk. "Why's that?"
"Because I won't dance with you if you're not in costume." You threaten, narrowing your eyes.
"Are you saying you want to dance with me, Maus?" He pauses, glancing down at you with soft, warm eyes. You stuttered out an incoherent sound, all words instantly leaving you as you melted under his gaze. He laughs softly as he finally releases you from your hypnoticized state. "I'd be honored to dance with a woman as beautiful as you." You paused in front of your door, the ice cold metal of your doorknob sending a shock through your palm as you stared blankly at the dark wood. It took you a moment to realize you were holding your breath. Should you… invite him in? Surely he wouldn't be impressed with your quarters, you were sure he was used to something a lot more lavish than what you could consider your small studio.
"I was going to heat up some cider," your voice shook slightly as you spoke. "Would you like some?" You feel the heat radiating off his body as he steps closer to you.
"I would love to, Maus." You swallow thickly, his breath hot against the shell of your ear. You quickly open the door, welcoming him in.
"It's not much, but it's home." Over your years of being friends Falk had only ever set foot in your room once. Both of you were usually off on a trip somewhere, lounging around his office, or enjoying a sunny window seat together in the library. He instantly goes to make himself comfortable on your old, worn leather couch. Groaning as he settled into the plush cushions. He looks around at the walls lined with books. Pictures of you and your friends littered the room. Pictures of you and Falk throughout the years some of the more prominent among them. The two of you wearing oversized, goofy sunglasses at one of the Abbey's New Years parties. You laid next to him on a blanket at the beach, both of you making stupid faces at the camera. Falk breathed out a laugh at the sight, face relaxing into a soft smile.
"It's cozy, I like it." The two of you sat before your clunky, awkward box television. You pulled out a box of DVD's you kept under your coffee table, dumping them out so you could pick something out.
"You look through these, I'm going to go heat up some cider." You lean forward without thinking, placing a soft kiss to his cheek. You jolt backwards as you realize what you're doing. Falk wore a dumbstruck look, a slight blush on his cheeks as his jaw fell slack. You quickly stood, rushing towards your kitchen cabinets to try and put some distance between the two of you. You released the breath that had gotten trapped in your lungs. What were you thinking? You listened to the soft shuffling of the movie cases as Falk sorted through them, humming softly as he read through the titles. You retrieved two mugs from the shelf, lugging your homemade cider from the fridge with a gruff groan. Placing a pot on the stove your started to slowly heat the liquid, adding in a pinch of cinnamon as it started to lightly simmer. You quickly removed the pot from the heat, carefully filling the mugs. You carried the two of them back to your waiting companion.
"Thank you." He says through a sigh, settling into his position on the couch, letting the cup warm his hands. "It seems like a perfect evening for something scary, and I know you're a sucker for the classics." The original Halloween from 1978 sat before you, a wonderful choice. Not scary enough where you would actually be invested, but it would still give you an excuse to cuddle up to Falk's side. The opening theme was slightly muffled through the TV's old speakers, the faint crackle of static breaking through in its quieter moments. He sets his mug down on the table, arm sliding effortlessly around you to pull you closer. Your head lulled against him, his warmth quickly spreading through your whole body as you allowed yourself to curl into his side. You jumped as the music boomed in your small room, Falk giving your shoulder a comforting squeeze. You draped your arm over his stomach, nuzzling into his chest. The warm spice of his cologne was intoxicating, you let out a soft hum as you let him hold you closely. It was the small things he did that always managed to make your heart race; The way his thumb would languidly stroke your skin, how he would rest his chin on the top of your head, the way his breath would hitch slightly as you shifted to get more comfortable, fingertips grazing his bare stomach where his shirt had lifted up slightly from squirming around to find the perfect position. You were finding it hard to focus on the movie, between the steady rhythm of his heartbeat and the gentle rise and fall of Falk's chest you were fighting to keep your eyes open. Deciding it wasn't worth the battle you allowed yourself to drift off in Falk's arms. When you woke up the next morning you were bathed in a warm beam of sun streaming through your window. Your body draped comfortably across the couch on your stomach, your arm hanging limply over the edge. It took you a moment to feel the movement of Falk's breathing below you, his gentle snoring filling the air as you realized it was in fact him you were laying on top of and not your couch cushions. You smiled softly, resting your chin on his chest, allowing yourself a moment to just look at him. One arm draped over his eyes, the other wrapped securely around your waist, you couldn't believe he had stayed. You carefully pushed yourself up, not wanting to wake him. You made your way to your kitchenette, putting on the coffee machine while you searched for something to feed your unexpected guest for breakfast. He stirred slightly as the pot began to fill.
"Good morning sleepy head." You were met with his half closed eyes and sleepy smile as he set up.
"Me? You're the one that fell asleep on me, Maus." He chuckles as he stretches his arms above his head. "Although, I'll be honest, I haven't slept that well in a while." You pour him a cup of coffee, a single spoonful of sugar and a splash of cream, just the way he liked it. He takes his mug with an appreciative nod, you joining him back on the couch after preparing your own cup. "I hope you don't mind that I stayed, you looked so peaceful I didn't want to wake you."
"I don't mind, don't worry." You state softly before taking a long sip of your drink. "It was kind of nice actually… getting to wake up with you." He breathes out a laugh, both of you sharing a bashful grin as he takes a moment to study you.
"Would you like to come to the party with me tomorrow?" He swallows thickly before clarifying. "As my date, I mean." You couldn't stop the blush from creeping across your cheeks. It was no secret that you and Falk were attracted to each other. You might be oblivious, but you still knew. The two of you had just never figured out how to take that final step.
"I would love to." Your smile was bright, warm, the smile Falk remembers falling in love with the first time he saw it. His eyes dart down to your lips momentarily before he clears his throat, adjusting his position on the couch. "I was going to make breakfast-"
"I'll help." He smiles, not allowing you to finish your question. You didn't have to wonder whether or not he wanted to stay, the fact that he was looking for ways to stay with you longer was enough proof that he did. He offers you his hand, your fingers intertwining with his as he helps you up off the couch and leading you to your kitchenette. The two of you worked in tandem at each other's side, Falk asking you where he could find certain things that weren't in plain view as you collected everything you needed to cook. You couldn't help but smile as you heard the radio click on, the room filling whatever song was playing on the random station it had been left on. Falk hummed along to a tune he recognized as he stood before the stove, leaving you to cut up some leftover fruit you had in your fridge. His hands landed on your waist, you held up a piece of watermelon to him which he carefully took between his teeth. You giggled as he started to sway you back and forth, eventually managing to start dancing you around the kitchen. "I could really get used to this."
"Next time let's try waking up in a bed instead of the couch though." You chuckle. He places a kiss to your forehead before turning his attention back to his cooking on the stove. Once your meal was finished you collapsed back onto your couch with a sigh, propping your feet up on your coffee table as you sat and ate your breakfast.
"So, we're going to look for your costume?" You nod.
"I'll probably try and pick up some more decorations while I'm out, hopefully we'll be able to find you a costume too." He hums.
"I'll figure something out, don't worry." You later found yourself speeding down the highway through another beautiful fall day. The colorful leaves painted the treeline in vibrant splashes of oranges, reds, and gold's. Your hand sat between you and Falk, fingers carefully intertwined with his. "Well, what do you want to go as?" He questions, the two of you bouncing ideas around for his potential costume. You were trying to persuade him into going as a gladiator, but it didn't seem to be working.
"I don't know yet, hence why we're looking for a costume." He let his head lull slightly to look at you. "Don't you dare suggest a sexy devil again." You giggle. He pulls into the store's parking lot, both of you determined to find something to wear to this party. You laughed as Falk held up the costume you kept sweating you weren't going to wear.
"I'll make a deal with you. If you get this I'll get the gladiator costume." He proposes.
"Only to try on, I'm not wearing this to the party. Deal?" You narrow your eyes, sticking out your hand for him to shake.
"Deal." He returns your handshake with a chuckle. "You drive a hard bargain, Maus." You leave the store with a few costume options and various bags of decorations for the great hall, heading back to the Abbey to make your final decision. Falk offered to carry all the bags, leading you down to his quarters. He sat patiently on the edge of the bed, allowing you to use his bathroom for some privacy. You decided to indulge him, tearing open the package for the devil costume. You removed and carefully folded your clothes before shimmying into the red, tight, mini dress. You fixed the pair of matching horns into your hair before turning to look at yourself in the mirror. You hated to admit it, but you looked really good. The dress hugged your curves just right, the horns were cute and small and didn't look awkwardly placed on your head. You hesitantly stepped out of the bathroom, bare feet padding against the cold wooden floor, alerting Falk that you had reentered the room. "Wow." He was unable to tear his eyes off you.
"I feel silly." You state with a nervous giggle.
"You look very cute." He reassures you, causing you to blush.
"Your turn." You toss him the gladiator costume. He looked like he was getting ready to complain. "You and I had a deal." You point at him.
"Fine, fine." He laughs. "You know if you wanted me to take my shirt off Maus, you should have just asked." He winks as he makes his way past you. You flush, plopping down on the edge of the bed to wait for him. "Yeah, there's no way I can wear this in public." He calls from the bathroom. He steps out and you struggle to hold back the audible gasp that almost left you. The pleather straps of the shoulder guards stretched across his broad chest, the lean muscles of his torso half hidden under a red cape that draped over one of his shoulders, the leather arm guards that adorned his forearms drew attention to his toned biceps. You were sure you were blushing as you stared at him, mouth hanging open as you searched for any words at all to say. "Something wrong, Maus? You look flustered." He teases with a crooked grin. He walks closer to you, still unable to tear your eyes away as you watch his muscles shift as he walks. He places a finger under your chin, tilting your face up so your eyes could meet his. "I'm not going to ask you to wear this to the party. But, indulge me, darling." He took your hand, helping you to your feet before guiding you over to a full length mirror. He stood behind you, hands resting on your waist as he allowed his gaze to travel over your smaller frame. "You look so beautiful." He pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
"You don't look so bad yourself." You manage to get out through your flustered state, eyes meeting his in the reflection. You felt a gentle pull in your waist, Falk turning you around so he could look at you face to face. He carefully takes your chin between his fingers, gazing down at you with adoration filled eyes.
"Can I make you dinner tonight?" He asks softly. You nod slowly in response. His eyes drop to your lips. "Good, you sit back, relax, and let me take care of you Engel." He breathes out a laugh as he drinks up your expression. Your eyes wide, pupils blown, he could see you melt beneath his gaze. You found yourself perched on the counter next to him as he cooked.
"What is this called again?" You peered into the pan to try and get a look at what was making the absolutely delectable smell that had filled the kitchen.
"Rouladen, it's a dish my mother used to make a lot when I was younger." He took the utmost care in preparing this dish, it was apparent to you that this was a recipe that had been passed down through generations of his family, and he had decided that you were important enough to make it for. Your eyes drifted up to his face, a soft smile finding its way to your lips as you just took a moment to take in the sight of him; his hair slightly messy from changing our of his costume and into some more comfortable clothes, you noticed some of his ceremonial paint from the day prior smudged around his eyes, his eyebrows scrunched together slightly with intense focus as he waited for the perfect moment to remove your food from the pan. "What's that look for?" He chuckles, warm brown eyes finding yours.
"I just…" it took you a moment to find the words. "I'm really happy I get to spend time with you like this, that's all." He steps in front of you, placing his hands on the counter at your sides. He was so close. Closer than he had ever been before, one wrong shift in your movements and your lips would brush his.
"Can I ask you something?" He asks in a voice barely above a whisper.
"Of course you can." You respond in a similar tone.
"Do you…" he paused, eyes leaving yours as you saw his computer crack slightly, he was nervous. "Do you want, Scheiße, ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass es so schwierig sein würde." He takes a deep breath, his gaze locking on you with a sudden burst of confidence. "I want to make things official between us. I'm sick of dancing around my feelings for you. I want to be with you, I have been for years, I just didn't know how-"
"Falk," you cut him off with a smile, knowing he was about to start rambling. You placed a gentle kiss on his forehead. "I've been yours, I always have." Both of you remained frozen for a moment. Despite the mutual confession you were both still afraid that you would cross some unspoken line. But, dear god, did you want to kiss him. He swallows thickly, smiling at you as he turns back to the dinner he was preparing. He handed you your plate. "Danke." You watched a smirk flash across his features as he listened to you try and speak in his native tongue. He puts two large glasses of wine, handing one to you as he swirled his own idly.
"It's been a while since I've cooked this, I hope it turned out alright." He chuckles before taking a long sip of his drink.
"I'll be honest, I'm a sucker for a man that's a good cook." You grin at him over the edge of your wine glass. You spent the rest of the night cuddled up on his couch, talking about all the silly moments of your crushes on each other. "I was mortified!" You exclaim through a fit of laughter, your body feeling light yet sluggish from the wine.
"But you were adorable." He argued. "Besides, it's your fault for falling asleep in the library, what was I supposed to do? Leave you there?" You let your head fall forward, your forehead bumping into his shoulder as you tried to contain your laughter. "All I'm saying is I carried you in my arms, you had my shirt fisted in your hand like you were going to disappear if you let me go." He sucked in a deep breath, wrapping an arm around your shoulders. "And when I finally got you back to your room, I got you tucked into bed, I was about to leave and you grabbed my hand… and in that sweet, sleepy voice of yours you asked me to stay." You smiled at the memory, it was one you remembered well.
"Not tonight sweetheart." You whispered the words he had told you that night outloud
"I wish I stayed." He chuckles. "Maybe it wouldn't have taken me years to finally put everything out in the open." You rest a hand on his cheek, thumb stroking languidly over his warm skin.
"We're here now and that's all that matters." He leans into your touch, a soft smile on his lips. You noticed the time, it was late. He had mass to lead in the morning and you had to finish up the final preparations for the party tomorrow evening. You stood, preparing to say your goodbyes for the night despite your reluctance to do so. "I should get going, we've both got busy days tomorrow." Falk took your hand in his, bringing your knuckles to his lips as he gently tugged you closer to him. His arm circled around your waist, his golden eyes finding yours in the dim light.
"Stay."
Despite his blunt phrasing it wasn't a command but a request. You could still hear the uncertainty in his voice, unsure of how you would respond. You smile up at him, pushing the fingers of your free hand through his hair. "Let's get to bed then." He suddenly scoops you up in his arms, causing you to let out a surprised yelp that quickly faded into a flustered giggle. He gently tossed you in the bed, your body bouncing off the mattress with a soft 'oof'. He dug through his drawers before tossing you one of his shirts. He turns away from you, allowing you a moment of privacy to change. You watched him as he peeled his shirt from my body and carelessly tossed it aside. The soft, black fabric fell just above your knees, you crawled under the covers as Falk came over to join you. Lying there side by side in the darkness honestly felt a bit strange at first. It was the first time you had shared a bed with someone that had no ulterior motive. You felt Falk's warm body shift closer to yours, his hand coming to rest on your hip, pausing a moment to rub his thumb in slow soothing motions. He didn't want to push you, but seeing your small form laying in his bed, completely at peace, he just wanted to hold you. His arm fully encircled your waist, pulling you flush against him. Your body fit against his perfectly, your fingers ghosting over his arm as you melted into his warmth.
"Goodnight, meine Mäuschen." He mumbles with a soft kiss to your cheek, the two of you drifting off into blissful, dreamless sleep.
You stirred awake as you felt Falk get out of bed, the orange glow of the early morning sunrise filling the room. "You're up so early." You croak, your voice still thick with sleep. Falk chuckles, sitting on the edge of the bed, your body lulling into him as the mattress dips under his weight.
"Go back to sleep darling, I have to go prepare a few things for mass." He kisses your forehead, gently carding his fingers through your hair. "I'll be back soon." You hummed softly in response, watching him as he left the room. You slept for a while longer before deciding to get up. The old wooden floorboards creaked under your feet, you stood with a sleepy groan as you stretched your arms over your head. You jumped slightly as the door clicked open behind you, Falk quietly stepped in, a smile spreading across his face as he saw you awake. "Good morning." He leaned against the door frame, drinking in the sight of you; your hair messy, eyes still half lidded with sleep, his shirt clinging to the curves of your body, he had never seen something more beautiful. He strides over to you, wrapping you in his arms and holding you close. "I'm afraid I'll be busy for most of today."
"That's alright, I have to finish setting up for the party tonight." You let your head fall against his chest, memorizing the feeling of him being so close knowing you would miss him the second you parted ways. "I better not see you dressed as a priest tonight." You poke him in the chest, giving him a teasing grin. He chuckles, giving your waist a small squeeze.
"You won't, I promise." He kisses your forehead. "I'll see you tonight, darling, don't work too hard." He winks at you causing you to giggle.
"Have a good mass." You say as you reluctantly let him go. Normally you would be heading to attend the service yourself right now, but you had more pressing matters at hand. You got dressed, quickly going back to your room to get some of your work clothes before heading down to the great hall. The Siblings you asked to assist you with this project had already finished majority of the work, you just had to put on the finishing touches; making sure lights were hung up and were all working, decorations were placed exactly where you wanted them to be, the bar was stocked, the floor cleared, everything was perfect. You had just enough time to go back and get ready. You stepped out of the shower, towel wrapped loosely around your body as you looked over your costume options. Despite your earlier objections, you were being drawn to the sexy devil costume Falk had picked out. You gave in, slipping into the soft fabric, trying to get your hair and makeup just right before setting the pair of horns atop your head. "You look so beautiful." Falk's compliment rang in the back of your mind, bringing a smile to your lips. You took one final deep breath before heading down to the great hall to join everyone else. You managed to arrive fashionably late to your own party, looking around the room to hopefully find Falk.
"(Y/N)." You jumped as Roel's voice boomed behind you. You turned to find his smiling face towering behind you. "Another spectacular party." He compliments you with a small nod.
"Thank you Father." You look around once more. "Roel, have you seen Falk anywhere?"
"Did he finally ask you on a date?" He asks with a grin, you can't help but blush slightly as you nod in response. "Took him long enough." He teases playfully. He offers you his arm, "come on, I'll help you find him." You kept a firm grasp on Roel's arm, not wanting to get separated from him in the crowd. The room was close to max capacity, if you lost him you might not be able to find him again. "Ah, there he is!" He exclaims, waving his hand and pointing down at you. Your smile grew as you saw Falk making his way through the crowd to you. The moment he was in front of you Falk pulled you to him, giving you a swift kiss on the cheek. Roel chuckles, "well aren't you two cute with your matching costumes." You looked up at Falk. He wore a simple black suit, some of his ceremonial paint still on his face, with a matching pair of red horns on top of his head. The moment you noticed you were in fact matching you broke out in a fit of laughter.
"You decided to come as a devil too, huh?" He looks down at you, realizing what you were wearing.
"You said you weren't going to wear the devil costume!" He exclaims with a boisterous laugh. "One of us had to be the sexy devil, I thought it had to be me." His arm slides around your waist.
"Have fun you two, you've earned it." Roel waves as he heads off through the crowd.
"You look stunning Mäuschen." He grins, taking your hand in his and swaying you to the music.
"You're one to talk." You smirk up at him. He pauses, removing one of his rings and slipping it onto your finger. You gave him a questioning glance.
"You'll have to wear that until I can find a suitable replacement." He chuckles.
"What are you talking about?" You ask through a flustered giggle.
"I told you." You get lost in his eyes as he steps closer to you, one arm wrapping around your waist as the other tenderly cradles your face. His eyes dart down to your lips. Your heart felt like it was going to pound out of your chest, your whole body felt like it was on fire. Your eyes slid shut as his lips found yours. Your breath froze in your lungs as your mind went completely blank. The loud chatter of the party around you faded away, leaving you with the feelings of his hands on your body and his lips pressed firmly to yours. Your hands fisted in his jacket, wanting him as close to you as possible. You both pulled back as you grew breathless. Falk's eyes met yours, glowing gold in the low light. "I'm going to marry you, Schatz."
The weeks felt like they passed you by in mere minutes, the next full moon rapidly approaching. You stood on a pedestal in front of multiple full length mirrors, one of the Abbey's talented seamstresses pinning the hem on your new ceremonial robe. "Oh, he's going to love it." She giggles along with you. "There, that's the last of the pins. I'll have it delivered to Father Falk's quarters once it's done." She smiled brightly at you, helping you shrug out of the cloak.
"I can't thank you enough Sister Maxine." You grab her hand cheerfully.
"Oh it's no trouble, I've never been chosen to work on a ceremonial robe, I should be thanking you for the opportunity." She returns your thanks bashfully.
"I know you're going to do a beautiful job, you're who I instantly wanted to work with when Falk brought this up." You were interrupted by a soft tap at the door.
"Sorry for the intrusion you two." Falk steps into the room with a smile, holding a bouquet of your favorite flowers. "Meine Maus, these are for you." Sister Maxine looked ready to swoon over his sweet actions, Falk's warm eyes remained locked on you as you inhaled his gifts sweet scent.
"What are these for?" You ask, cradling the bouquet to your chest. Falk offers you a crooked grin in response, you knew his response without him even having to say it.
"I was hoping you would accompany me to the ritual ball this evening." He wraps an arm around your waist, pulling you close to him. You can't help but laugh as he smiles down at you. You had noticed something since the two of you had gotten together. He still acted as if he was courting you. Excitedly surprising you with small gifts of flowers or your favorite candy, asking you out on dates, even if it was something as simple as asking you to lunch, neither of you had lost the nervous butterflies of your child like crushes.
"I would love to." Your face lights up with a wide grin, Falk breathing out a chuckle.
"Sister Maxine, I trust their robe is coming along well?" He asks your seamstress.
"Yes Father, they looks absolutely radiant in it already. I can't wait to show you when it's finished." He kisses the top of your head, giving your waist a gentle squeeze.
"I'm excited to see your work, this one refused to let anyone besides you work on this." He teases you, causing you to roll your eyes and Maxine to laugh.
"(Y/N), if there's any more adjustments I think I'll need to make I'll send for you. You two go have fun at your ritual ball." She waves the two of you off. You lean into Falk's side as you walk, he seemed extremely giddy today.
As you grew closer to his quarters he took your hand in his, giving it a soft squeeze. "Don't be mad at me, but I bought you something." He chuckles as he watches your eyes narrow, he knew how much you hated it when he spent money on you. He gently tugged you through the door behind him. You let out a high pitched squeal as Falk pushed you up against the door, you giggled as his lips crashed into yours. "Close your eyes." He whispers. You do as he asks as he pulls off you. You hear him rustling something out of his closet, the zipper being undone on what he had retrieved. "Okay, open." You blinked a few times as your vision cleared. He stood before you holding up an ensemble you had fallen in love with when you had taken a trip into town.
"Oh, Falk, it's beautiful!" You press a kiss to his cheek, carefully taking the clothing from him to admire it. "Sweetheart you didn't need to go through all that trouble." His hands gently squeeze at your waist.
"You're my seelenbindung, nothing is too much trouble for you." He states softly, pressing a kiss to your forehead. "Go get ready, we'll leave in about an hour." It was a bit of an odd feeling slipping into a sort of domestic rhythm next to Falk. Him chuckling softly as he brushed his teeth, listening to you singing loudly in the shower. You stood next to him in the bathroom mirror, you doing your makeup while he shaved. You laughed loudly as the two of you danced in his bedroom as you got dressed. You sat on the edge of the bed, smiling down at the most handsome man you had ever met, who was currently helping you put on your shoes. He takes your hand, helping you stand. "Meine Maus ist so schön." He coos in his native tongue, gently squeezing your cheeks in his hand. You laugh, burying your face against him to try and hide your flustered expression. You sat beside him as he drove, both of you happy to be at each other's side. You turn your attention to him as he gives your hand a gentle squeeze. "Is everything alright, Schatz? You seem tense."
"Yeah, just nerves." You wanted to tell him but you didn't want to sour your whole evening together. The closer the next full moon got the more it weighed on your mind. He languidly ran his thumb across your knuckles.
"Maus," he states softly, "if you have worries you can talk about them, it might make you feel better." You dared a glance at his eyes, the expression he wore alone enough to tell you he knew what was making you so stressed.
You let out a shaky sigh. "I know… I know last time was because I didn't follow the rules. I shouldn't have been out of my room on ritual night. But, Falk, a wooden door isn't going to keep you out. If any of you decided that would wanted into a room… I've seen what you look like, I don't even want to imagine the strength you have when you're that beast."
"Schatz, I promise you, as long as you're not wandering the Abbey you will be safe." Despite the fact he knew you trusted him he could still sense your anxiety rolling off you in waves, a hesitant look in your eyes as you continued to think about just how impossible that sounded. "When we get back to the Abbey I would like to show you something, hopefully it'll help calm your nerves. I don't like seeing you so upset, meine Maus." He guides your knuckles to your lips. A small smile spreads across your lips as you gaze at him. You lean in, placing a quick kiss to his cheek. When you arrived at the party you tried your best to shake off the dark cloud that hung above your head, there was no use getting worked up over something that couldn't be helped, especially not now. Your chest swelled as you stepped from the quiet outside to the loud, raging energy of the party inside. You gave Falk's arm a gentle squeeze as you smiled up at him, you saw his gaze soften as he realized just how much confidence you had gained over the past month.
"Well look who decided to show up!" Roel booms, his arm slinging over your shoulder as he crushes you into a side, placing a sloppy kiss to your cheek that causes you to recoil with a laugh. He takes you firmly by both shoulders, dropping down onto one knee so he can look you in the eyes. "Is he treating you well?" You can't help but laugh at how seriously he asked you that as you nod in response. "Good, if he doesn't you let me know. We're family, if anyone treats you wrong they'll have to deal with me." Charles pats him on the shoulder, shooing him away from you. Roel drops his hold on your shoulders, resuming his position towering over you.
"Don't mind him," Charles chuckles, "he gets emotional when he's been drinking."
"It's no problem," you nod in Roel's direction, "we're family." You smiled as Falk pulled you in close to him, idly chatting with the group around you. It was strange to think about. From the outside looking in this should be the farthest place from somewhere you felt safe. You were quite literally surrounded by a group of monsters, creatures you thought were pure fantasy until now. Yet, despite all of that, when you looked around you couldn't think of a single place you'd rather be. Falk's warmth enveloping you seemed to shield the overstimulating buzz of the room, five pairs of sharp eyes all darted in your direction as someone bumped into you. You understood now why Falk kept reassuring you the first party you came to, it was a silent declaration from them all. If anything went wrong, keeping you safe was a top priority.
"Falk, I'm gonna take them to get a drink." Roel places a strong hand on your shoulder.
"Don't get separated, you know how easy it is to get lost." He warns his friend before giving you a kiss on the cheek. You stuck close to Roel's side, the two of you sharing some casual conversation as you pushed yourself through the crowded room. You bumped into his shoulder as he suddenly went rigid. He moved his arm in front of you.
"Roel-" You start in a concerned tone before he cuts you off. He looks down at you with a comforting smile.
"It's alright, just stay close, yeah?" He could see his vague reassurance wasn't enough of an answer. "There's eyes on us." He offered his arm, you held onto him tightly as you tried to stop your eyes from wandering. In one swift movement Roel effortlessly shuffled you to his other side just as a familiar face emerged from the crowd. "Klaus." Roel greets bluntly as he cautiously eyes the man.
"Roel." He returns the greeting with a sharp smile. His eyes flashed down to you, your gaze narrowed. "I believe we've met before as well, haven't we?" He runs his tongue over his teeth as he ponders the thought over. "My apologies, I don't believe I ever got your name." His voice came out in a purr, as if he was trying to lure you closer with his words.
"It's (Y/N)." You respond hesitantly. Klaus reaches his hand out to take yours, Roel pushes himself in between the two of you with a growl.
"Back up." He snarls. "She's with Falk, surely that was clear enough to get through your thick skull." Klaus straightened up, matching Roel's towering height.
"And you damn mutts should know that regardless of that fact I'm going to take what I want." Roel grabbed Klaus by the collar, slamming him against the bar. Falk was by your side in an instant, pushing through the crowd the instant he noticed the disruption.
"Roel, what's going on here." Falk snaps sternly. He wraps an arm around your shoulders, holding you close to ensure you would be out of harm's way.
Klaus shoved Roel off him, parting the crowd to head for the exit. He paused for a moment to look you up and down, a smirk spreading across his features. "You better keep a close eye on your partner Falk." Roel held a hand against Falk's chest to stop him from charging forward.
"He's not worth it." He says keeping his eyes trained on Klaus as he leaves. "I think it might be a good idea to get them back to the Abbey." Falk nods, taking your hand and trying his best to give you a reassuring smile.
"Come on, Schatz. Are you alright?" You nestle yourself close to his side.
"Yeah, I'm alright." You say through a forced smile, trying your best to hide your nerves from him. You couldn't deny how shaken you were. You rode back to the Abbey in silence, your eyes trailing the street lamps as they whizzed past your window.
"Maus," Falk suddenly speaks up, his voice soft. "You know I'd never let anything happen to you, right?"
You nod, reaching over to take his hand. "Can I ask you something?"
"Of course you can, my love." He gives your hand a gentle squeeze.
"Is Klaus… dangerous?" You couldn't think of a way to phrase your question that didn't alert Falk to your worries.
"Klaus is a very powerful man within our community. Because of that he has a tendency to believe that he can do and take whatever he wants." Falk clears his throat, trying his best to keep the anger out of his voice. "But, no matter what he thinks that doesn't mean we're going to let him. You're safe at the Abbey, with me, with the rest of the huge clergy. I just… I need you to trust that I'll get this figured out."
You lean over, placing a soft kiss to his cheek. "I trust you."
“She seems a lot happier since Sir Charles has started to visit her during the day.” You strolled side by side around the castle grounds with your older sister. You hum in agreement, folding your hands neatly in front of you as you walk.
“I think his tales of adventure really lift her spirits.” You respond with a smirk. “I think all of us yearn for a little more danger in our lives.” She laughs in response to your statement.
“Maybe you do, but some of us prefer a more predictable lifestyle.” You couldn’t help but roll your eyes, leave it to the eldest to always have to be the perfect daughter. No matter how proper and responsible she tried to be, you knew that under the mask she wore the two of you wanted similar things. You yearned for something different than the only life you had ever known; somewhere you could live your life freely without the neverending list of rules you had been accustomed to, somewhere exciting, somewhere with people that you didn’t have to filter your personality for.
“Please, you think that Duke you’re scheduled to marry is about as interesting as sitting through a portrait painting.” You rebuttal with an uninterested glance.
“Yes… Well, at least the painters offer interesting conversations.” She sighs with a chuckle. Both of your attentions are caught by the sound of someone retrieving an arrow from their quiver. You both stared on as he raised his bow, the arrow whizzing straight into the center of the target effortlessly. He readied himself once more, shooting off another arrow that split the first one clean in half. A triumphant smile crossed his face as he pushed a gloved hand through his hair, you were hypnotized by the sight of him. Your sister leans in closer to whisper something in your ear. “You know, I’m sure Sir Falk would be honored if the Princess wanted to watch him train.” She offers with a grin, your eyes dart up to meet hers. She nods in his direction, your attention drifts back to him as he heads to retrieve his arrow from the target. You took a single step forward, your body moving on its own, surely it wouldn’t hurt just to watch. You found yourself striding over to him, freezing as his gaze lands on you as you exit the tree covered path.
“Your Highness, what do I owe the pleasure?” He crosses an arm over his chest, giving you a low bow.
“I,” you cleared your throat as you struggled to find your voice. “I saw you training while I was on a walk, your skills are really impressive.” Your compliment is meant with a bashful smile, he gives you a slight nod.
“Well thank you for the compliment Princess, it means a lot coming from you.” You can’t help but blush under his warm gaze. He glances down at the bow at his side and then back up at you. “Would you like to give it a try?”
“Me?” You ask in disbelief, he nods with a soft laugh. “Oh, I appreciate the offer Sir Falk but I’ve never handled a weapon in my life.”
“Okay, if you’re positive.” He smirks, retrieving another arrow. “I’d be right by your side the whole time.” It was hard to hide your amused smirk. You held up your hands in defeat as you stepped closer to him. “I knew you had it in you!” He exclaims jovially. He steps behind you, your back pressed firmly against him as he helps you nock an arrow. You attempted to draw the bow yourself, your muscles shaking as you barely pulled it back halfway. Falk chuckles, resting his hands on top of yours in order to assist you. With his help you drew the bow effortlessly, the weapon a clear extension of his body from what must have amounted to decades of practice. “You’re shaking.” He points out with a smirk. How could you not be? Your body pressed tightly into his, warm hands covered your own, his chin tucked itself neatly next to your ear. The smell of wild flowers, dirt, and musk enthralled your sense of smell. “Take a nice deep breath and hold it.” He tells you in a tone just above a whisper. You did as he instructed, taking in as much air as you could before holding your breath. You noticed yourself instantly steady, Falk assisting you in lining up your shot. “Let go… Now.” The drawstring slipped past your fingertips, a sharp sting where it snapped against the inside of your elbow as it sent the shot. The arrow hit the dead center of the target, the tail rocking back in forth as it stuck out of the small red circle. You look up at him to find his eyes already trained on you, “excellent shot, Your Highness.” Watching the smile spread across his lips caused you to blush. You stepped away from him, clearing your throat in an attempt to hide your flustered state.
“That was, um… Thank you, Sir Falk.” You wanted the earth to swallow you up as you tripped over your words. You heard the sound of your fathers voice in the distance. You allowed yourself one last moment to take the sight of him in. “Excuse me, I unfortunately have to go.” He offers you a polite nod and one last smile before you run off. You managed to slip into the castle before your father realized what you had been up to, hurrying around to a spot you could see the courtyard from to hopefully allow you to watch his practice from afar. You perched yourself on a windowsill, watching him flip a knife effortlessly around in his hand before tossing it, it stuck into the target with a loud thunk. He adjusted the strap on his gloves, his attention suddenly getting caught by someone approaching him. He gives a low bow as your father emerges into the clearing.
"Sir Falk, I'm glad I caught you. I have a favor to ask." Your father slaps him on the shoulder, raising him to a standing position. You can't help but smile at the interaction, he always seemed to have somewhat of a soft spot for the archer.
"Anything at all, Your Grace." Falk returns your father's jovial greeting with a toothy grin of his own.
"It's been a while since my daughters have gotten to take their horses out, my youngest has been begging me incessantly for weeks." He chuckles. "I was hoping you would be able to accompany them on a ride up a nearby trail and back."
"It would be my pleasure, Your Majesty." He agrees with a nod. "They'll all be in excellent hands with me." He reassures him. Your father knew exactly who he was asking to complete this task.
"I'm sure they will be." Your father gives him a knowing grin. Falk was an infamous ranger known throughout the country, not to mention an expert rider, you couldn't be in safer hands if you tried. The next day you found yourself sitting at your vanity, fussing over every little detail you could find. You let out a startled shriek as your sister started speaking behind you.
"Alright, what's going on with you?" She leans against the wall at your side, crossing her arms over her chest. "You're never one to get all dressed up to go on a ride."
"I just feel like putting in a little extra effort today, that's all." You fix your hair for what must have been the millionth time in the mirror before deciding how you look would have to do. You both hurried out of your room to meet the others down at the stables. The moment Falk's eyes landed on you a smile broke out on his face, your stride paused momentarily under his gaze.
"Your majesties." He gives both of you a bow before helping your sister get situated on her horse. Your three younger siblings sat and idly chatted at the stables exit, waiting for you and your guard to catch up. "Is everything alright Princess? Forgive me for being so blunt, but you look a bit nervous." You can't help but smile at his concern.
"Can I speak honestly?" He nods, drifting closer to you subconsciously. "I'm not exactly the greatest rider, horses frighten me a little." You whisper, blushing slightly as you admit a secret only you and your father knew about. You watch his smile widen ever so slightly, his fingers running through your horse's mane and carefully untangling any knots he found.
"I can understand where your apprehension comes from." He chuckles, giving the animal a firm pat on his back. "This guy's massive, but he's very well trained." The coat that passed below your fingers was incredibly soft. "Besides," your eyes drift up to meet Falk's, "as long as I'm here I won't let anything bad happen to you Princess, you have my word." You look to your horse and then back to him, giving him a sharp nod to show you were ready. He knelt down, allowing you to use his leg as an extra step to help you hoist yourself into the saddle, struggling to adjust your dress around the bridle. Falk stands, motioning to your skirt, "may I?" You nod, pulling your hands back so they wouldn't get in his way. He helps you get comfortable, before handing the reins to you. "Take it nice and easy, I'll be right behind you." He says with a comforting smile before hoisting himself up into his own saddle with one swift motion. You shouldn't have been shocked, riding was second nature to him, but you couldn't stop your eyes widening in amazement at the sheer fluidity of his movements. You give your horse a gentle squeeze with your legs, jolting slightly as he starts to move forward. You joined your sisters, the four of you starting down your usual riding trail. You looked around, suddenly realizing you were missing someone.
"She's journeying to the Duke's with Sir Attila." Your youngest sister chimes in seeing your confusion. You nod, your posture stiffening at the sound of your horse snorting. You looked back, catching Falk's gaze in the process. He was keeping far enough back to where he could still keep an eye on the four of you but not close enough to where he could listen in on your conversation with your sisters, something you were very fortunate for at the moment. "You know… Sir Falk hasn't been able to keep his eyes off you since you arrived." You couldn't help but roll your eyes at her observation.
"Oh, is that why you're all made up today?" One of the others pipes up with a giggle. "I think someone knew who would be riding with us today." She teases.
"I don't have the faintest idea what you could be talking about." You tried to remain stoic, but being with the people who knew you better than anyone else made things difficult. The smallest crack in your composure would be a dead giveaway, something they had apparently already noticed.
"You know, next time you're trying to hide your little crush, maybe don't let us catch you staring." You hear one of them say behind you with a laugh. Your cheeks heated up, you were definitely guilty of that, playing off your flustered state with a laugh.
"That's rich coming from the woman I have caught multiple times with Sir Matthew's-"
"Okay, that's enough!" She cuts you off before you have a chance to finish eliciting a chorus of giggles from the group. You caught the briefest flash of red fur, probably a fox darting across the trail, but that was enough to spook your horse. He squeals, rearing up on his hind legs. You grab on to whatever you possibly could, just trying to keep yourself from plummeting to the ground. The second his hooves hit the ground he took off.
"(Y/N)!" You hear Falk yell behind you. No matter what you tried you couldn't calm your horse down, the sharp sting of branches whipping across your face clouding your judgment. You could always try to jump, no that was ridiculous. The trail you were on was narrow, there's no telling what you would hit once you landed on the ground. Your horse was also moving so incredibly fast that you were positive you would break a bone on impact. You had to think, there had to be something you could do. "(Y/N)!" You were snapped from your thoughts by Falk yelling your name at your side. Your head snapped in his direction. "I need you to trust me, can you do that?" You give him a weak nod. He rides closer to you, grabbing you by the waist and ripping you from your saddle and sitting you in his lap. You cling to him, cheeks wet with tears that you hadn't realized were there. "You're alright, I got you." He says through heavy breaths. You watch as he pulls back on the reins, slowing you to a gentle trot. He cradles your body against his, chin resting on your head as he circled around to bring you back to your sisters. "Are you alright? You didn't get hurt, did you?"
"No… I'm alright, but, my horse-"
"I'll go get him Princess, don't worry." You were shaking, your hands fisted in his shirt in an attempt to calm yourself down.
"I'm sorry, I made a terrible mess of our ride." Your voice breaks slightly as you fight back a sob that had bubbled its way into your throat.
"Oh goodness, don't worry about that." His voice was undeniably kind as he spoke to you softly. "Etan has bolted on me like that before." He chuckles, patting the horse's neck. "You did everything right, you kept a level head despite how terrified you must have been." You smile faintly, your eyes growing heavy now that the adrenaline has worn off. You felt so safe and warm in his arms. Your attention was captured by your sisters fussing over you as the two of you came into view. "She's alright your majesties, don't worry. She's just a little shaken up." You make no movement to leave Falk's side as your sisters ride up to you, questions coming from every direction, the youngest looking ready to burst into tears any second.
"Ducky, I'm alright." You reach out and pat her head. "Falk promised before he left that nothing bad would happen as long as he was here." You giggle, trying to reassure her.
"Alright, let's get you four back, I think our runaway here deserves a chance to rest." He smiles down at you, your sisters turning to head back up the trail out of the corner of your eye. "I'll go look for your horse once I drop you off at the castle, he'll be back in the stable before nightfall." The two of you shift positions, your head now comfortably resting against his back. You held his sleeve tightly in your hand, he seemed to be the one thing that was able to ground your racing mind at the moment. He slipped effortlessly from his horse once you were safely back at the castle, offering his hand to help you down. You watched him as he rode off towards the woods once more, a feeling of helplessness settling in your chest once he was out of view. You retired to your quarters with the excuse of needing to rest after so much excitement. You sat by your window, diligently watching the entrance to the trail for Falk's return. You wanted to thank him properly for saving you today. When you saw him exit the trail, your horse in tow, you found yourself hesitating. You wished your sister was here, she would be the first to tell you how irrational you were being right now. You let out a frustrated groan, dropping your head into your hands. You wanted to thank him, yes, but it was more than that. The entire ride home you had one nagging thought in the back of your head. You divulged a fear to him, he had saved your life, but not once had he ever seemed to pity you. Every member of the court, visitor to your kingdom, even your own parents, they all treated you like some frail baby bird. You were sick of it. You planned exactly what you were going to say to him, knowing how strange this would sound coming from one of the princesses. You headed down to the courtyard to find him practicing, a soft smile forming on your lips at the sight.
"Sir Falk." He drops his bow immediately, turning in your direction.
"Ah, if it isn't the runaway!" He chuckles, taking a couple steps closer to you. "Princess, how are you feeling?"
"I'm alright, I wanted to come thank you for earlier." You fidgeted nervously with your hands, all the resolve you had built up practicing in the mirror dissolving the second his gaze landed on your face. "I also wanted to ask a favor, if that's alright."
"For you Princess, anything." He gives you a toothy grin you can't help but return.
"I'd like you…" you cursed internally as you stumbled through your words. "I was hoping you could train me."
"Train you?" He crosses his arms over his chest, a perplexed expression on his face as he ponders over your question. You pursed your lips, looking down at the ground to hopefully ease your flustered mind.
"I'm sick of feeling helpless… I want to be a mercenary… like you." Your voice came out soft, much different than the firm diction you held with your reflection. Falk could tell by your words that this wasn't some silly daydream you wanted to pursue. He could tell by your expression that you didn't just want him to train you, you needed him to. Sure, training a Princess wasn't going to be an easy feat, but since when had he ever turned down a challenge?
"Training starts tomorrow, meet me here at noon." He chuckles, returning to his target practice. You nod, unable to hide your elated smile as you turned to leave. "Oh, your highness?" You glanced back at him, a playful smirk on his lips. "I want you to know, just because you're of royal blood doesn't mean I'm going to go easy on you." You chuckle, you knew he was the perfect man for the job.
"I didn't expect you to."
Part II
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You slid into the confessional booth with a sigh, eyes meeting with the Clergy member through the cross hairs of the fence that separated you. A ghost of a smile played on his lips as he took a moment to study you. You were greeted with a thick German accent that had a tinge of curiosity behind it. "What can I help you with, my dear?" You swallowed thickly, you thought coming to talk about what was troubling you was supposed to help.
"Father… have you ever felt like no matter what you do, you just don't fit in?" You had been floating through your life with no real sense of purpose. You had spent so long trying to live up to everyone's expectations that you had truly lost yourself in the process. The man on the other side of the screen breathed out a laugh.
"I know a thing or two about not fitting in." He shifts in his seat as he ponders what to say next. "If it were me, I would do my best to cut ties with everyone and everything from the life that isn't suiting me… for a little while at least. It would probably give you a chance to find what exactly you want out of your life." Your brow furrowed slightly as you listened to his words. Before you had a chance to ask any questions he began to speak again. "Our Abbey welcome's all here without question, it might even be able to provide something you're missing." You'd be lying if you said it didn't appeal to you. A full change of pace, people, scenery, it sounded like a good idea.
"I…" you weren't sure how to respond. You sighed, anxiously cracking your knuckles.
"You don't need to make a decision right now." His soothing tone lulled you back into a state of comfort. "Maybe sit in the chapel for a while, think things over, yeah?" You nodded.
"Thank you, Father." He dismisses you with a polite nod. You sat in the front row of pews before the altar, listening to the shuffle of footsteps as various people entered and left the confession booth. Shapes in all colors of the rainbow shifted across the altar as the sun gradually began to set.
"Still thinking, are we?" The pew creaked as the Clergy member you spoke to earlier sat beside you. He folded his hands neatly in his lap. This was the first time you actually had the chance to see what he looked like. Slightly unkempt light brown hair and sharp features contrasted the softness his gaze held. Beautiful brown eyes that only greatened how easily you were drawn in by his presence. "What's making you so apprehensive about staying?"
"Who said I was thinking about staying?" You challenge, concentrating on the toe of your shoe kicking against the floor.
"You would have left by now if you weren't." The steady taps of your foot stopped in an instant. "I have a feeling you and I might not be as different as you think. It wasn't too long ago that I was in the same position you are now. Going through the motions day by day, not truly feeling like any of it mattered… does that sound about right?" You paused for a moment before nodding in response. He stands, motioning for you to follow him. "I'd like to show you something, come with me." He led you through a doorway to what appeared to be a maze of hallways. "Stay close, we wouldn't want you getting lost." He chuckles slightly at your amazed expression as you took in the sight before you. He walked slowly, allowing you time to get distracted by the different artwork that lined the walls until your focus eventually wandered back to your guide. "You're smiling." He points out with a grin of his own. You look down at your feet, letting out a slightly embarrassed laugh.
"I guess I am." You hadn't even realized it, but it was the first time you had genuinely smiled in a while. You looked back up at the man before you, kind gaze never wavering as he studied you. "Father, this place is incredible. I never realized how massive the Abbey was."
"These halls would be yours to explore if you decide to stay." You took a deep breath, this could be your one and only chance at a fresh start. Something you had always longed for was being gifted to you by a complete stranger. "You're looking to find a place where you belong, right?" He takes a small step forward, cradling one of your hands gently in his own. "My dear, I think that is something you would absolutely be able to find here. Let me help you keep that smile on your face." You took a deep breath, glancing around the candle lit halls as you thought about whether or not this was somewhere you could call your home. Starting your life over was terrifying, sure. But, the hands that held yours were so warm, the way he looked at you made you feel important. Standing here with him even just for this short amount of time had ignited something in you, a sense of want, for what exactly you couldn't place. The man's eyes glowed in the candle light, watching the smallest shifts in your expression as you ran through every possibility that came to mind.
"I'll stay." You respond abruptly. He smiles brightly, elated by your response. He, however, didn't move from his position. Almost as if he could feel that you had something else to say. You had entered this church on a whim and now you were agreeing to dedicate your days to it while you searched for who you really were. All of this because of the man that stood before you with the mischievous glint in his eye. "Father, I do have one more thing I'd like to ask you." He hums in response to your statement, giving you his full attention. "I don't believe I ever asked for your name." He chuckles softly. Thumb running slowly across the top of your hand before he reluctantly released it.
"You can call me Falk." He leans down slightly, almost as if he was ready to tell you a secret. "Also, I don't believe in using honorifics outside of mass, so just Falk is fine."
"Falk." You repeat the name back softly, liking the way it sounded as it tumbled from your lips. "Thank you."
"The pleasure is all mine." Falk insisted that he help you take care of your arrangements, he wanted your transition into the Abbey to be as seamless as possible. Before you knew it you were caught up in lessons, mass, and your daily chores around the Abbey. It felt right being here, but there was still the sense of want you had experienced that very first night. You gazed at the window as you picked at your breakfast, the dining hall nearly empty aside from you and a few people others. The smell of freshly brewed coffee caught your attention first, then the sound of footsteps casually approaching your table.
"Good morning, Falk." He effortlessly slides into the seat across from you. He sets his mug down with a sigh before pointing an accusatory finger at you.
"You weren't at my mass this morning." Your chin perched on the palm of your hand, playful smile on his lips letting you know he wasn't upset. "You never miss my mass."
"I overslept." His eyes narrow. You oversleeping wasn't the issue, it was why you overslept. He didn't need to say another word for you to confess. "I might have stayed too late in the library."
"You know it's important to rest-"
"I know." You groan, thinking of a way to try and defend yourself. "The Abbey just has such an amazing collection."
"Which will still be there when you wake up." He chuckles. He moves to reach out for your hand, he stops himself and decides to fold his hands in front of him. "You have all the time in the world to read those books, it's important you take care of yourself." He takes a long sip of his coffee, his gaze switching between you and the window. "I was concerned when I looked out there and you weren't in the front row."
"I'm surprised you noticed I wasn't there." You exchange a soft smile.
"Your smile is always the brightest in the room, of course I noticed." You couldn't hide the blush on your face. He was beaming with pride over the fact he managed to get you flustered. The two of you got to sit and talk for a while longer until he had to leave for a meeting. "I take it you'll be in the library again tonight?" You nod in response, causing Falk to chuckle. "If I don't see you, make sure you don't stay there all night."
"I won't, I promise." He bids you one last farewell before he heads off. You found yourself unable to wipe the smile off your face as you went about your duties for the rest of the day. As expected by the end of the day you had made your way to the library. Now sat comfortably in front of a roaring fire, bare feet tucked beside you under a blanket, and a pile of unread books at your side, you were all set to enjoy your evening. You were interrupted not too long after by the sound of the library door opening and thudding back close. You looked back over your shoulder, from your nights spent in here you knew no one was usually in here this late. You could hear footsteps approaching you, weaving their way in between shelves of books. Your body tensed, only catching flashes of a shadowed figure as they grew closer to you.
"Well you certainly look comfortable." Falk emerges from the darkness with a chuckle. You let out a sigh of relief, laughing slightly at your paranoia.
"You scared me." You giggle. He chuckles, approaching the couch you were seated on slowly.
"Would it be alright if I joined you?" You hurriedly collected the books, moving them aside to make a space for him.
"Please do." He sits with a groan, a result of the long day you were sure he had. "What brings you all the way down here?"
"I was curious about what you were reading that had you so interested." He narrows his eyes, struggling to read the spines of the books next to you before leaning in to get a closer look. Your breath hitched in your throat as you watched his face hover in front of yours. It took you a moment to realize he wasn't wearing his paint anymore, you noticed a few spots he had missed where the paint had settled into the wrinkles by his eyes. Your heart was pounding in your chest, it was a wonder he couldn't hear it. "You can read German?" You were forced to release a breath you hadn't noticed you had been holding. You were finding it hard to find any words at all to say with him sitting so close to you.
"Hardly." You chuckle, holding up the German to English dictionary that you kept plastered to your side. "That's part of the reason I'm here so late, it's a little difficult to get through a book when you have to translate it word for word." He glances between you and the stack of books.
"Maybe I could read some of it to you, give you a break." He offers with a smile.
"Oh, you don't have to, I'm sure you've had a long-" He cuts you off with a wave of his hand.
"Nonsense, I'd just be reading in my room anyways." You exchange a smile. "What would you like to read first?" He asks as he cuffs the sleeves of his shirt. You swallowed thickly, struggling to tear your eyes away as you watched his nimble fingers work their way around the fabric. You simply grabbed the first book in the pile and handed it off to him. His fingers brushed against yours as he grabbed the book, his hand soft and warm. Your mind instantly wandered back to that first night you arrived at the Abbey, your hands wrapped securely in his own as that same warmth spread through your whole body. Your eyes found his, golden in the light of the fire. He hesitantly reached out, brushing some stray hair from your face. You reflexively leaned into his touch, a blush slowly creeping across your cheeks. His eyes widened slightly as he realized what he was doing. "I'm sorry." He clears his throat, hurriedly opening up the book you had handed him. If there was one thing you were sure if it was that Falk had a wonderful voice for reading stories. His soft tone threatened to lull you to sleep. You found yourself drifting closer to him, reading the German on the page that he almost effortlessly translated for you. You leaned back into the couch, your eyelids heavy as the plush cushions wrapped your body in their warm embrace. You eventually drifted off listening to Falk read to you. The last thing you remember was someone gently cradling you as they laid you back on the couch, pulling the blanket up over your shoulders.
