Butternut/Butternot
Well. Saving seeds from produce purchased at the market CAN be a very helpful way to get a free harvest. But . . let the buyer beware. This is a sample of the butternut squash I grew this year, not including the huge, long one I already cut up or the fair quantity of normal-shaped ones I grew.
This one is not only neckless,it is also way bigger around than it should be. Looks almost like a bushel gourd. It’s still faintly green on the outside, so I’m leaving it on the vine for a while.
These guys - I’m speechless. I kinda want to name them.
