     she shouldn’t have done it --- letha tries hard to respect people’s privacy and all that, but she can only block out so much from her head and other times, well other times, things just pique her curiosity a bit too much. perhaps that’s why she followed this curious looking stream of light to its recipient ( SENT by steve rogers ). until she finds the recipient. “ um ---- ” she says, pausing, re-evaluating the entire set of events that ended with her at this point. “ check ---- your phone?  ”

Fear. He always wondered how he dealt with it. Over the span of their friendship, he’d watched him face the kind of horrors most men didn’t have the stomach for. Time and time again. The war. The HYDRA experiments. Losing time. Blacking out. Realizing he could be CONTROLLED. Forced into horrific crimes and PUNISHED for moments of humanity. He was all but a stranger to his own skin. For so long he didn’t even know who he was. His past. WHY he was even fighting. The mere thought of having everything stripped from him was more than UNSETTLING. To live with it … - it’s always been a mystery to him how he rarely saw him sweat. It was a source of admiration. Pride. But he never mentioned it. He never asked because he didn’t want to be a REMINDER of everything he suspected relentlessly haunted his best friend. Without hesitation he would have taken the burden on to his own SHOULDERS, but this time he couldn’t. But the question would forever rest in the back of his mind - how do you live with the fear of knowing your WILL can be erased with just a few WORDS.
