Today is #WorldEvanescenceDay, and @evanescenceofficial has called for stories and memories from the fans with #FALLENSWEET16, as the album #Fallen is now 16 years old. The music of #Evanescence has helped every person I know who listens to it. It's helped me, immensely, and continues to even now. I now listen just about every day; it's habit. Every difficult period of my adult life, Amy and the band have been there to let me know I wasn't alone, and that there were people out there, however few, who understood. I had the honor of thanking Amy in person for her contribution to my life. I know where I would be if it weren't for #AmyLee and #Evanescence, and it's not good. Never before or since have I found anything that at once affirms my darkness, bleeds light, touches me and brings out my inner self, and reveals the divine so well as Evanescence does. Once again, Amy, and all of you in #Ev, thank you. I honor and thank the Lord for you and all you have done. The world can never repay you for what you've given us. If there’s one thing I can say about a musical influence on my writing, it’s that a crap ton of poetry came out of my listening to the Fallen album by Evanescence. A lot of my mental health issues and insecurities were washed away every time I turned on the tunes and start to write. I can’t say it’s all any good but it was the therapy I needed to get through bullies and depression and anxiety. Thank you so much @amylee and @evanescenceofficial for bringing your talent to the world. You have helped so many people in so many ways including myself and I am forever grateful. To this day that album holds a special place in my heart.
